FREESTYLE DIGITAL MEDIA RELEASES HORROR-SLASHER MOVIE ‘DIRECTOR'S CUT'

Retro-Style Horror/Slasher Movie Debuts on North American VOD Platforms and DVD on March 18, 2025
'DIRECTOR'S CUT is cautionary tale to the youth of today to tread carefully when seeking fame and fortune - there are some dangerous people out there waiting, especially in the entertainment industry.' — Filmmaker Don Capria
LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES, March 18, 2025 / EINPresswire.com / -- Freestyle Digital Media, the digital film distribution division of Byron Allen's Allen Media Group, has just released the retro-style horror/slasher movie DIRECTOR'S CUT, which is now be available to rent/own on all North American digital HD internet, cable, and satellite platforms, as well as on DVD, starting March 18, 2025.
DIRECTOR'S CUT is a riotous slasher throwback that pays tribute to horror cinema of the 1980s and 1990s. The movie stars veteran character actor Louis Lombardi (THE SOPRANOS, SUICIDE KINGS, 24) as a mysterious, murderous sociopath preying on a punk band's desperate desire for fame. In DIRECTOR'S CUT, a Long Island punk band meets a mysterious director through social media who generously offers to shoot their first music video for free. Desperate for fame, they drive deep into the Pennsylvania woods in hopes of making a killer music video. But after a long night of drinking with the gregarious director, the band wakes up to find a very different version of him on set. Egos and opinions clash, with the director unveiling a terrible anger and uncompromising need for total control. As his professionalism breaks down, so does his sanity – with the unhinged director and his assistant turning the band members into the unwitting stars of his very own snuff film.
Written and directed by Don Capria, DIRECTOR'S CUT was produced by Anthony Carpenito, Paul Travers, Noah Marks, Louis Lombardi, Brett Marks, Don Capria, and Joseph LaManna. The cast features Louis Lombardi ('Mister Director'), Lucy Hart ('Babs'), Tyler Ivey ('Jay'), Danielle Kotch ('Val'), Greg Poppa ('John'), Louis Rocky Bacigalupo ('Juan'), Brandy Ochoa ('Menace'), Haley Cassidy ('Jen'), and Darrin Hickok as ('AJ').
'I wrote DIRECTOR'S CUT as a band drama and drove the characters into a deadly situation. This person they meet, Mister Director, represents the evil in the music business,' said filmmaker Don Capria. 'DIRECTOR'S CUT is cautionary tale to the youth of today to mind your surroundings and tread carefully when you are seeking fame and fortune - there are some dangerous people out there waiting for you, especially in the entertainment industry.'
Freestyle Digital Media negotiated the deal to acquire DIRECTOR'S CUT directly with filmmaker Don Capria.

Holy Schnikes! 30 years of 'Tommy Boy' to be celebrated in Sandusky

Sandusky, Ohio, will celebrate 30 years of the Chris Farley comedy classic 'Tommy Boy' this summer at Tommy Boy Fest, Aug. 7-9, organizers have announced. The three-day event will feature a car show, concerts, a scavenger hunt and outdoor screenings of the 1995 movie, which took place in Sandusky, home to the movie's fictional brake pad manufacturer, Callahan Auto Parts. Director Peter Segal is scheduled to attend the event, along with the restored 1967 Plymouth Belvedere II GTX convertible used in the movie, according to a press release. The fest will also host a photo op for anyone local named either Tom or Tommy. 'Tommy Boy' stars Farley as Tommy Callahan III and David Spade as Richard Hayden, a pair of salesmen selling car parts on the road throughout the Midwest in an effort to help save Callahan's family business after the death of his father. It also stars Brian Dennehy, Dan Aykroyd, Bo Derek and an uncredited Rob Lowe. The film was released in March 1995 and grossed $32 million at the North American box office. It has since achieved cult status as a fan favorite, especially after the death of Farley, who died in 1997 at age 33. Paramount Pictures, the film's distributor, released a 30th anniversary edition of the film on 4K earlier this year. Sandusky, which is home to Cedar Point, is a roughly two-hour drive from Detroit. Sarah Jessica Parker Responds to Backlash Over Che Diaz: 'I Was Shocked' By Hate Toward ‘And Just Like That' Character

Che Diaz has officially left the chat — and not everyone is sad about it. As And Just Like That Season 3 kicks off on HBO Max, longtime Sex and the City fans have noticed one major absence: Sara Ramirez's Che Diaz, the non-binary stand-up comic who had a high-profile romance with Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon) in the show's first two seasons. Che was one of the reboot's most divisive characters, sparking thinkpieces, memes, and heated debates. Critics often slammed the character as a clunky attempt at queerness, calling Che a 'caricature' and a symbol of the show's occasionally awkward efforts to modernize. Now, series star and executive producer Sarah Jessica Parker is addressing the controversy for the first time — and she admits the backlash caught her completely off guard. 'A friend of mine brought it up to me, and it's like: 'What are you talking about?' And he said: 'Yeah, there's all this conversation,'' Parker told The Guardian in a new interview. 'I've been an actor for 50 years, and I've almost never paid attention to peripheral chatter. I loved working with them.' Parker also reflected on her own character Carrie Bradshaw and the way audiences have responded to her over the years — especially in comparison to beloved TV 'bad boys' like Tony Soprano. 'I prefer that to any other description of her, because it allows her to be as male as the men have been. I love The Sopranos so much, and I look at all the times [Tony] was unlawful, and we loved him. Carrie has an affair and everybody falls apart,' she said. 'An antihero, to me, is somebody that's not behaving in conventional ways, and she hasn't ever… A lot of people love her too, though!' Sex and the City ran for six seasons from 1998 to 2004 and spawned two feature films. And Just Like That premiered in 2021 and is currently streaming its third season on HBO Max.
