Aurat March put off in repect of Ramazan
The "Aurat March", this year, will be held in Karachi on May 11, 2025 instead of International Women's Day, in view of respect for the holy month of Ramazan.
Our movement will also raise it's voice regarding the missing persons in Balochistan, as well as the struggle ongoing in Palestine and Ukraine.
These views were expressed by the organizers of the Aurat March while holding a press conference on Women's Day at the Karachi Press Club.
On this occasion, social activist, classical dancer and founder of the Tehreek-e-Niswan, Sheema Kirmani, while talking to The Express Tribune, said that this year, they are not organizing the Aurat March on Women's Day, but will organize it on May 11 in Karachi to pay tribute to the struggle of our domestic workers.
She explained that women working in homes told her that it is very difficult for them to leave their homes during this month, so they decided that since the month of May is important with regard to Labor Day and International Mother's Day and the biggest worker in our society is women, the Aurat March should also be organized in this month.

PTI activists protest outside SHC, brave police brutality
During the hearing for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Patron-in-Chief Imran Khan's bail plea in the Al-Qadir Trust case, PTI leaders and workers staged a protest outside the Sindh High Court (SHC) under the leadership of PTI Sindh President Haleem Adil Sheikh. The protesters demanded the release of Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi, and other PTI leaders in custody, along with their acquittal in the false cases filed against them. During the peaceful demonstration, a police contingent attempted to arrest Haleem Adil Sheikh and other leaders. However, PTI lawyers intervened, and escorted Sheikh and the others into the court premises. Haleem Adil Sheikh stated, "our protest was peaceful, yet the police resorted to brutality and violence, which we will challenge in court. A civilian dictatorship has been established in Sindh, and martial law has been imposed across the country." Sheikh further said that Imran Khan has remained falsely imprisoned for over 600 days, stating, "the 26th Constitutional Amendment has resulted in a massacre of justice, and the judiciary has been weakened." Regarding the Al-Qadir Trust case, Sheikh asserted that Imran Khan is not a beneficiary and has committed no corruption, and instead "the real corruption was committed by Asif Ali Zardari and others, who purchased flats in London using stolen money, with the Sharif family as the beneficiaries. Imran Khan, on the other hand, established Al-Qadir University for religious education."

There exists no need to launch large-scale operation in province: Bugti
ISLAMABAD: Chief Minister of Balochistan Sarfraz Bugti has ruled out the need for a large-scale military operation in the province, stating that Pakistan will thwart every attack orchestrated by the so-called 'Fitna-e-Hindustan.' Addressing at a press conference in Islamabad, Bugti accused India of resorting to proxy warfare following its military failures. 'After suffering defeat, India is now relying on proxies. The enemy is waging a proxy war against us and dreams of destabilising Pakistan's rising economy,' he said. Bugti said India's 'evil designs' have been exposed, and the state holds 'solid evidence' against Fitna-e-Hindustan. He claimed the recent attack in Khuzdar, in which children were martyred, was carried out through these proxies and backed by the Indian intelligence agency RAW. 'RAW is fully supporting Fitna-e-Hindustan and is providing intelligence to their handlers. These terrorists should not be associated with the Baloch people,' he emphasised. The chief minister reiterated that all acts of terrorism in Balochistan have been RAW-funded since day one. 'There is no need for any large military operation in Balochistan. We will successfully foil every attack launched by Fitna-e-Hindustan,' Bugti asserted. He also criticised Indian media for spreading false reports, including a fabricated story about the destruction of Karachi Port. 'Fitna-e-Hindustan is part of a conspiracy to put Pakistan's peace at risk,' he added. 'India was defeated on the battlefield, and the Pakistan Armed Forces gave a befitting response to Indian aggression,' Bugti said. Commenting on internal matters, he said that political dialogue is always possible with political parties, but issues such as missing persons are often used as propaganda against the state. Fishermen oppose 'national fisheries policy'
The fishermen community has strongly criticised and opposed the formation of fisheries policy at national level, stating that fisheries is clearly a provincial subject, therefore, only provinces can formulate any policy about fishing sector. Talking to The Express Tribune, Chairperson of Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum, Mustafa Mirani said that they have learnt through media that the authorities in the federal government are engaged in formulating a national level fisheries policy. He said that the fishermen community is main stakeholder of fisheries sector but they are not consulted before drafting this policy. "We will not accept any policy that is made against our interests," he warned. It is pertinent to mention that the federal government has circulated a draft of the 'National Fisheries and Aquaculture Policy 2025-35' with provincial governments including Sindh and Balochistan. Provincial Secretary for Fisheries and Livestock, Sindh, Kazim Hussain Jatoi confirmed this and informed The Express Tribune that the Sindh government was still preparing its feedback to the proposed policy. According to the proposed policy the federal government shall establish an apex council namely 'Pakistan Fisheries and Aquaculture Council (PFAC)' comprising relevant stakeholders from the centre and the provinces. It will propose amendments to the fisheries policy and legislation to resolve issues in federal-provincial context of fisheries and aquaculture governance. In this draft the Sindh and Balochistan governments are advised to register and regularise all the existing informal unauthorised private jetties and landing sites through specific law, rules and guidelines. "Annual tax, rent and fee will be levied on all such jetties and landing sites for the structure erected inside sea (starting from high water mark)," it stated. According to the draft the Mercantile Marine Department shall register every vessel, except merchant and cargo ships, which intends to operate in country's waters. "The governments of the coastal provinces of Sindh and Balochistan are advised to complement their efforts in establishing a country-level integrated and coherent 'Central Digital Register' for sea-going fishing vessels and harbour crafts by the MMD of the federal government which shall have devolved system arrangements for registration processing at provincial level," it stated. According to the draft, the federal government, in consultation with provincial governments of Sindh and Balochistan, shall rationalise 'One-Licence System' along with 'Benefit Sharing Mechanism' for co-management of capture fisheries in all fishing zones in marine waters of Pakistan including certification for nakhuda and crew. It has also been proposed in the draft that there will be three months ban on fishing, from June to August, instead of existing two months, at sea and in freshwater resources. According to the proposed policy, the federal and provincial governments shall develop and implement dedicated rules to reform or describe the role and governance mechanism regarding social organisational setups like fisheries cooperative societies.
