Big Wreck to headline 2025 version of Cowapolooza
Multi-platinum, Juno-nominated rock powerhouse Big Wreck will take the stage in Southside Park as Woodstock's favourite summer festival returns on Aug. 8 and 9. Fronted by Toronto singer, songwriter and guitarist Ian Thorney, the band is known for their hit singles That Song, Blown Wide Open, The Oaf and Albatross. 'It was very well-received on social media and we've had great feedback, which is exciting,' said Kristen Brodhagen, Manager of Special Events for the city. 'With their unique brand of heavy-hitting live rock, Big Wreck will close out two exhilarating days of music and family-friendly entertainment! We're so excited to welcome attendees from Woodstock and beyond for another spectacular event as Cowapolooza marks its 22nd year,' she added. The free festival starts on Friday, Aug. 8 at 6 p.m. with country music performances from Coty Robinson, Ryan Langdon and Outlaw State of Mind, a Chris Stapleton tribute band. Once last year's event was over, the planning started immediately for this year's version. 'A lot of thought and research goes into selecting the headliner,' added Brodhagen. 'Like you said, I think this year will be an incredible concert. We are really looking forward to it.' Post-pandemic, the event has turned to a different genre of music, something she added was intentional. 'Sam Roberts band, Sloan, The Trews and now Big Wreck are in a different era than we used to have. We used to have headliners like April Wine, Trooper and Colin James. Maybe that shift after COVID kept the excitement going.' She added keeping the event free means there are no barriers for anyone to attend and people travel from far distances to come to the city and enjoy two days of family fun. 'We welcome all demographics and it is a large focus of the event's marketing. We encourage families to attend all weekend, but specifically during Cowapolooza Kids. It's great to see the variety of ages that come through the park throughout the two days.' The fun continues on Saturday, Aug. 9, with Cowapolooza Kids from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., featuring action-packed pro wrestling matches, inflatables, outdoor games, a photobooth and more. Big Wreck will be joined by Harm and Ease and The Joel Dupuis Band for the finale on Saturday evening from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Throughout the weekend, festival goers can shop from marketplace vendors, grab a bite to eat from on-site food trucks, or enjoy a drink in the beverage garden with a view of the main stage. 'This year we're also proud to be creating a more sustainable event. We're looking for volunteers to join our new Green Team to help guests sort recyclables and garbage at our waste stations,' added Brodhagen. 'We're also encouraging attendees to bring their own reusable water bottles and reusable bags for shopping, as well as take eco-friendly transportation to the park with a free shuttle bus and on-site bike valet.' Here Are the Performers & Presenters for the 2025 Tony Awards
The Tony Awards on Sunday night (June 8) will include performances from all five nominees for best musical and all four nominees for best revival of a musical — as well as two more 2024-25 shows — Just in Time, which stars Tony-nominated Jonathan Groff as legendary performer Bobby Darin, and Real Women Have Curves, which features Tony-nominated Justina Machado. The ensemble, founded by Michael McElroy, won a 2019 Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theater. Cynthia Erivo, who won a Tony in 2016 for The Color Purple, is set to host the show for the first time. Brian Stokes Mitchell, who won a Tony for in 2000 for a revival of Kiss Me, Kate, will serve as the show's announcer. The show will air from Radio City Music Hall in New York City for the first time in three years. Other presenters include Adam Lambert, who played the emcee in Cabaret on Broadway; Lea Michele, who starred on Broadway in a revival of Funny Girl; and Sara Bareilles, a three-time Tony nominee and past Tonys cohost. The Post tests Sydney Sweeney's soap made with her bathwater

Sydney Sweeney released a sultry soap made with her used bathwater — and The Post managed to scoop up two samples before the 5,000 bars sold out in less than a minute online Friday. Advertisement The 27-year-old Emmy-nominated star teamed up with the 'natural manly soap' brand Dr. Squatch to create Sydney's Bathwater Bliss. Here's what our 'judges' had to say about the $8 bars: 4 'When your fans start asking for your bathwater, you can either ignore it, or turn it into a bar of Dr. Squatch soap,' Sydney Sweeney said in a news release. Dr Squatch/MEGA Advertisement 'For starters, it is the worst tasting celebrity bathwater-based product I've ever tried,' Post reporter Chris Harris quipped. 'Sadly, it is also the closest I am ever going to get to Sydney's bathtub,' he added. The regular Squatch soap user said he 'thoroughly enjoyed' the soap, which contains exfoliating sand and is infused with notes of pine, Douglas fir and moss. 'Though, it makes me wonder how much of Sydney's bathwater was actually used in making the soap. I hope not too much, as it is a very manly scent,' he said.
