Saraswati Shishu Mandir schools established to restore cultural values: Uttarakhand CM Dhami

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], May 21 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that after the independence of India, Saraswati Shishu Mandir schools were established to restore cultural values and the spirit of nationalism.
Chief Minister was participating in the hostel's foundation stone-laying program at Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Manduwala, Dehradun on Tuesday.
Wishing all the students on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that this hostel will play an important role in the all-around development of the students, along with providing residential facilities to them. The Chief Minister congratulated the students of Saraswati Vidya Mandir Manduwala for achieving 100 per cent results in the recently concluded 10th and 12th examinations.
The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, extensive reforms have been made in the education system in the country. The state government implemented the new education policy for the first time in the country. 141 PM Shri Vidyalaya and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Residential Schools are being constructed in the state. Virtual classrooms have also been arranged in 500 schools in 13 districts of the state. NCERT books have been made compulsory in all government schools to ensure quality education.
The Chief Minister said that meritorious students of classes 6th to 12th of government and non-government schools of Uttarakhand are being given scholarships under the Chief Minister's Medhavi Chhatra Protsahan Scholarship Scheme. For the personality development of children in the state, the process of sending meritorious students of class 10th and 12th of each development block on an India tour has also been started. Chief Minister Balashraya Yojana has also been started in the state. Vidya Samiksha Kendra has also been established in the state with the aim of improving the quality and results of the school education system.
The Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand has become the first state in the country to implement the Gujarat model of Prime Minister's Vidya Samiksha Kendra. About 16 thousand schools in the state have been connected with this innovation. Soon, all the private schools of the state will also be connected with Vidya Samiksha Kendra. Due to which information about teachers, students and all educational activities related to these schools will be available to the government through a centralised system. The Chief Minister said that the state government is paying special attention to sports, along with education, in the state.
The Chief Minister said that the state government has constructed stadiums and sports facilities in the state at a cost of crores of rupees. Scholarships are being given to talented players from the age of 8. Free training, education, accommodation, food and kits etc., are also being provided to the players of residential sports colleges of the state.
A historic beginning has also been made to give government jobs to the players who bring medals in any national-level competition. He said that in the grand and successful event of the recently held 38th National Games, the players of the state have created history by bringing more than 100 medals.
The Chief Minister said that more than 12 thousand schools are being run by Vidya Bharti all over India, in which more than 35 lakh students are receiving education. Modern and quality education is being provided in these schools. Along with this, efforts are made to develop the feeling of patriotism, moral values, Indian culture, rituals and a sense of responsibility towards society. Character building and the spirit of service are given importance in the schools run by Vidya Bharati. (ANI)

'The Prime Minister has directed the Minister to ensure all necessary support is extended immediately and asked to be kept regularly updated on the situation,' it said. All relevant agencies are on high alert, and coordinated efforts are underway, the ministry said. 'Flight AI171, operating Ahmedabad-London Gatwick, was involved in an incident today, 12 June 2025. At this moment, we are ascertaining the details and will share further updates at the earliest,' Air India said in its first comments on the crash. New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lauded India's young innovators for their pivotal role in advancing technology and driving the nation's self-reliance. He said over the past 11 years, Digital India has empowered the youth to harness innovation, reinforcing India's position as a global technology powerhouse. PM Modi also remarked that over the past 11 years, leveraging the power of technology has brought innumerable benefits for the people of India. In a post on X on Thursday, he wrote, "Powered by the youth of India, we are making remarkable progress in innovation and application of technology. It is also strengthening our efforts to become self-reliant and a global tech powerhouse." He said this while responding to posts on X by MyGovIndia. "Leveraging the power of technology has brought innumerable benefits for people. Service delivery and transparency have been greatly boosted. Furthermore, technology has become a means of empowering the lives of the poorest of poor," he further said. The government is marking eleven years of governance by highlighting its various achievements. In a post on the X, the government explained how Digital India has rebooted governance for every citizen. It said that 11 years ago, a silent digital revolution began reshaping how India connects, governs, and grows. "Under PM Modi's visionary leadership, the Digital India initiative has turned technology into a tool for empowerment - bridging gaps, unlocking opportunities, and making governance more accessible and transparent for every citizen," the government press release said. It said that from Internet access in remote villages to real-time digital payments leading the world, this transformation has been there, adding that it is not just about numbers but about people, progress, and possibility. The government has said that the 11 years of Digital India is a story of inclusive growth, innovation, and India's emergence as a digital powerhouse. "How India Is Powering the Next Global Digital Wave From digital deserts to a data-driven democracy- India's tech journey over the last 11 years is nothing short of revolutionary," the MyGovIndia said in a post on X on Thursday. It further said that under the leadership of PM Modi, India has transformed into a hub of digital innovation, tech-led governance, and global trust. From manufacturing to space tech, from digital payments to rural connectivity -- the change is visible, impactful, and lasting. "But this isn't just about devices and platforms. It's about seamless governance, citizen empowerment, and building a tech-first Viksit Bharat," the post mentioned.. Explaining further the digital growth story, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that there has been a more than 90 times rise in direct benefit transfer (DBT) in just a decade under the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government. Moreover, India leads the world in real-time payments, with more than Rs 260 lakh crore worth of transactions processed in 2024-25, the Finance Minister informed on the X social media platform. "From Rs 7,368 crore in 2013-14 to Rs 6.83 lakh crore in 2024-25, there has been a 90X+ rise in DBT transfer in just a decade under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, ensuring that every rupee reaches to every citizen," said Finance Minister Sitharaman. According to the Finance Minister, India's tech journey over the last 11 years is nothing short of revolutionary. "India has transformed into a hub of digital innovation, tech-led governance, and global trust. From manufacturing to space tech, from digital payments to rural connectivity - the change is visible, impactful, and lasting," she emphasised.
