Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 Portable Power Station
Jackery may not have cut our list of the best power stations, but its Explorer 1000 v2 is worth a closer look. This unit has kept my laptop running through prolonged power outages, and today's discount saves you $350 to match the all-time low price.
Ecoflow Delta 2 Power Station
The Ecoflow Delta 2 is our favorite medium-capacity solar generator. If you need more juice than the River 2 Pro I noted above, then this is a better bang for your buck.
Jackery Explorer 2000 v2 Portable Power Station
At 37% off, Jackey's upgraded portable power station is an easy recommendation. It stands apart from Ecoflow models in the Big Spring Sale with its LiFePO4 battery tech rated to last longer than the lithium iron phosphate circuits in our best-tested picks.
Ecoflow Delta Pro Power Station
If you're reading this, you've skipped the River 2 Pro and Delta 2, meaning you must need even more power. Our pick for the best high-capacity solar generator has your back as does Amazon with this 36% markdown. Deals and tech may be my main passions, but I've also been writing about the green energy space for years. Items like electric lawn tools and portable power stations are more relevant than ever now that spring is officially here. That makes today's deals even more enticing. I've also been writing about deals since Amazon first announced its in-house Prime Day sales. So, I know a thing or two about how to take full advantage of these savings events.
The deals team at Underscored was prepping for next week's Big Spring Sale and was surprised by how good the deals are now, both in terms of quality and quantity of the discounts. This AI Giant Is Among the Top 5 Holdings of Billionaires David Tepper, Philippe Laffont, and Stephen Mandel Jr. -- and It's Not Nvidia
Billionaires are betting on the AI revolution, and this particular company already is winning in the field. This tech player also has built a solid earnings track record over time. 10 stocks we like better than Amazon › Investors, including billionaires, have generated enormous returns by investing in Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) in recent years. The artificial intelligence (AI) chip giant climbed more than 800% from the start of 2023 through the end of last year as demand for its products and services soared. And with the AI market forecast to reach beyond $2 trillion a few years down the road, it's likely Nvidia will continue to benefit. But it's important to remember that Nvidia isn't the only attractive AI bet to be found. In fact, right now, some of the world's top investors are favoring another AI giant over Nvidia. This particular player is among the top five holdings of billionaires David Tepper of Appaloosa Management, Philippe Laffont of Coatue Management, and Stephen Mandel Jr. of Lone Pine Capital. This company, like Nvidia, already has brought in billions of dollars in revenue thanks to AI -- and could win as the AI boom continues. Let's find out more. First, it's important to note that these three billionaires have significant positions in technology stocks, with other such players among their top 10 holdings. So they clearly believe in the AI revolution and are setting themselves up to potentially gain as AI becomes more and more a part of our daily lives and the operations at businesses of every size. For example, Tepper and Mandel each have three Magnificent Seven stocks among their 10 most heavily weighted holdings, and Laffont has four. So, which company has caught the eye of these technology-focused investors? None other than AI powerhouse Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN). As of the first quarter of the year, Amazon is the third biggest stock position in Tepper's $8.3 billion portfolio, the second-biggest in Laffont's $22 billion portfolio, and the third- largest in Mandel's $11 billion fund. Here are the details: Tepper holds 2,510,000 Amazon shares, and the stock represents 5.7% of the portfolio. Laffont holds 10,753,808 Amazon shares, and the stock represents 9.02% of his portfolio. Mandel holds 4,352,740 Amazon shares, and they represent 7.15% of his portfolio. This is according to the billionaires' 13Fs, filings that managers of $100 million or more must submit to the Securities and Exchange Commission on a quarterly basis. Now the question is: These billionaires clearly see Amazon as a fantastic AI investment, but is it right for you too? After all, though billionaires have demonstrated their investment expertise, some of their moves may not suit your investment strategy or comfort with risk. It's important to take these elements into consideration before diving in. You probably are most familiar with Amazon thanks to its e-commerce business. It's built an empire in the area, and one that extends around the globe. The operation helps the company generate billions of dollars in revenue year after year, and its extensive fulfillment network and popular subscription program Prime offer it a significant competitive advantage, or moat. But Amazon also is becoming a leader in AI, using the technology to streamline those e-commerce operations and even developing and selling AI products and services to customers through its Amazon Web Services (AWS) unit. In fact, due to Amazon's aggressive push into the AI space, AWS recently delivered a $117 billion annual revenue run rate. So Amazon already is generating significant growth from this hot technology. And since AWS is the world's leading cloud services provider, it's in the perfect spot to capture more and more business. As AWS customers develop AI projects, they have all that they need right at their fingertips on AWS -- from access to top chips like Nvidia's to a fully managed service that tailors popular large language models to a customer's needs. The AI buildout continues, and AWS is set to gain from this and from the next stages of AI, as customers apply AI to their businesses more and more. Meanwhile, Amazon offers a solid track record of earnings growth and has demonstrated its ability to manage turbulent times and go on to grow. For example, the company revamped its cost structure when higher inflation hurt earnings a few years ago and returned to growth within a year. All of this shows that Amazon is well positioned to benefit from the AI boom, but the stock also offers you security thanks to its well-established and profitable e-commerce and cloud businesses. And this means that, whether you're a cautious or aggressive investor, you may, like the billionaires, want to make Amazon one of your key AI bets. Before you buy stock in Amazon, consider this: The Motley Fool Stock Advisor analyst team just identified what they believe are the for investors to buy now… and Amazon wasn't one of them. I Love This Portable 32-Inch Touchscreen TV and It's on Sale at Amazon Right Now
For a brand I had previously never heard about, Fiteye captivated me with its portable "TV" offering. The premise is similar to LG's StandbyME Rollable Smart Touch Screen but uses Android OS, offers longer battery life, a larger display and costs less with the current $193 discount in both the white and cream white models. You'll find it for $897 right now at Amazon. It's essentially a TV on wheels connected to a 15,000-mAh battery buried somewhere inside the base of its stand. However, I'd be hard-pressed to call this thing a TV; since it's touch screen, it's more like an oversized Android tablet on wheels. Somehow, since it arrived at my doorstep, it has followed me everywhere I go in the house. In fact, it's watching me type at this very moment. Now I can't imagine what life would be like if my giant Android tablet were to leave. It's become everything: a TV, a monitor, a signboard, a companion, a friend… I digress. What exactly is this TV for? A bit of everything, really. So far, I've used it to watch anime with my headphones connected, lounging on the couch while my partner uses the living room TV. I've used it as a monitor for my MacBook while working. I've rolled it up to my minibar and used it to look at cocktail recipes while mixing. I've used it as a recipe book, a kitchen chalkboard, an indoor news signboard, an outdoor TV and the list goes on and on. Dreamchild Obari/CNET It also has a front camera -- not a very powerful one but it could work in a pinch. You can set it up to do video calls with friends and family who don't care too much about video quality. It's also perfect for video calling in a games night, and we've used it as a Scrabble dictionary instead of people using different phones to check words. Hey, did you know? CNET Deals texts are free, easy and save you money. It's not particularly the best at all these things. For instance, there are many dedicated outdoor TVs and projectors with better sound, image quality and insulation but it's perfect at being a jack-of-all-trades, moving around the house to where it's needed the most. It cannot completely replace a tablet, a phone, a monitor or even a TV, though, and I won't recommend it as any one of these. But if you need an average extra screen for any reason or a smart display for your smart home -- this is the way to go. What are the specs? As a tablet, its performance is decent. It has an 8-core unspecified CPU that runs Android 12 OS compatible with many apps in the App Store, 128GB of built-in storage and 6GB of RAM. So far, I haven't noticed any lag in performance or video playback. Dreamchild Obari/CNET The 32-inch display has a surprisingly crisp high-contrast LCD panel, 60Hz refresh rate and 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. With its ability to rotate and swivel, it's not hard to adjust it to a good viewing angle. It is lacking in the sound department, though. I've taken to pairing it with a portable Bluetooth speaker. Another thing that pleases me about this smart screen is its battery. Fiteye claims you can get up to 7 hours of usage time with it. I've left mine on for up to 48 hours, displaying my curated Flipboard widget at the lowest brightness. However, since the battery isn't integrated into the tablet, tracking battery health using the LED screen on the base's stand is a hassle since the numbers are inaccurate and the LED display tends to shut off when inactive.

This Philips Hue Accessory Is a Game Changer for Light Control
Philips Hue smart lights consistently rank well on CNET's list of the best smart lights out there. As someone who has collected these over the years, I love how efficient they are, but controlling them typically means I need to reach for my smartphone or bark a voice command into a smart speaker, smart display or my smartwatch. While these options are great, having so many ways to control my lights has made my overall smart lighting experience feel like a bit of a mess. Luckily, I found the perfect accessory to control my lights that I can't live without now. I can find other brands of smart lights at much cheaper prices these days, but Philips Hue is perhaps the most well-known smart light brand, and offers a solid lineup of indoor and outdoor smart lighting. Whether I want my lighting tucked away or I'm looking for unique lights that are designed to be shown off, Hue's got them. It's not just about the bulbs. The Hue line also has a large assortment of accessories. To me, the best is the Philips Hue Tap Dial. Available in black or white and priced at $50, the Tap Dial is a small puck-shaped light controller with buttons you can press and a dial you can twist, giving it a "smart analog" vibe. It lets you easily control multiple smart lights at once without having to use voice control. Right now the white version bundled with a smart dimmer is discounted by 7% on Amazon, bringing the price down to $72. It's a very minor discount, yes, but it's rarely ever on sale. Plus, I'd recommend it to anyone with Hue lights, even when it's at full price. For more, don't miss our roundup of the best smart home deals overall. On the surface, the Tap Dial is a simple way to control your lights Spending $50 on a glorified light switch (or $72 on the bundle) may seem like a bit much, especially when you consider that it's nearly the same price as a single Philips Hue 75-watt White and Color Ambiance bulb. If you're like me and firmly steeped in the Hue ecosystem, you've likely already come to terms with the fact that it's an expensive ecosystem to be in. The customization options for this little guy will have tinkerers excited, and I believe it's definitely worth its price. The Dial looks like a hockey puck with four buttons on the face, with a rotating outer wheel to brighten or dim your lights. The four buttons each have little dots numbered 1 to 4, so you can feel which button you're pressing, even in the dark. It's fairly small and not a chore to bring it room to room if you so desire. You can place it on a wall inside of the included wall mount to use like a typical light switch. It's magnetic, so you can stick it on your fridge or some other metal surface. The customization options for the Tap Dial are extensive. Blake Stimac/CNET Under the hood, the Tap Dial is a dream for tinkerers You'd think that setup for this little device would be simple, with only a few options involved, but you'd be wrong. The settings for the Tap Dial can be a bit complex and can require some tinkering to get just right, especially if you have multiple scenes you want to go through. Either I completely missed the function in the app, or within the nearly two years I've had the dial, Philips resolved my main gripe. I'm not sure which is true, but my biggest annoyance was that I believed you could only use the Tap Dial for one room or "zone" in your home. While this may have always been how the device functioned, this has now been resolved (in my mind) and you can assign each button to a different room or zone. The twist-to-dim function can only be assigned to one room at a time, which makes sense. To set up, you'll head to the Hue app, then go to Settings > Accessories and select your Tap Dial. From there, you can assign functions to each of the buttons. First, you'll need to choose whether the button is going to control your lights or automation. If you choose the former, you'll need to choose the button behavior when you press it: Time-based light : Lighting based on the time of day or based on a customized timetable of your choosing. : Lighting based on the time of day or based on a customized timetable of your choosing. Scene cycle : Choose a primary scene that will always start upon a button press. Continue pressing to cycle through additional light scenes. : Choose a primary scene that will always start upon a button press. Continue pressing to cycle through additional light scenes. Single scene : Always only the same scene on button press. : Always only the same scene on button press. Lights off: Selected lights turn off when the button is pressed. By default, pressing and holding any of the buttons will turn off the lights assigned to it, but you can opt for turning all the lights off in your entire home or for it to do nothing. There's also an advanced "smart on/off" option, which I haven't dabbled with yet. After you've customized the buttons to your liking, your last stop is to choose what the twist dial does, or what else it does, other than brightening or dimming your lights. There are only two options here, and both are easy to tweak. The first is choosing if you want to be able to turn your lights off completely with the dial or have them go down to the minimum brightness only as you twist to dim them. The second gives you the option to set a specific scene that will turn on if you twist the dial when the lights are off. You can make your setup as simple or complex as you'd like, making the Tap Dial approachable for anyone. The Hue Tap Dial makes a great gift There's a good chance that someone isn't going to run out and drop a bunch of money on Hue lights after receiving this as a gift. The Tap Dial is easy to use, but the value it brings comes with the customization you can do with it. Still, you don't have to want to jump into all the settings to make the Dial worth it. As I said above, it's an approachable device for anyone since you can make it as simple or as complex as you'd like. Hey, did you know? CNET Deals texts are free, easy and save you money. If you know someone who already has a Hue setup in their home, this would be a great addition. Plus, if they love to dig into the settings or are self-described tinkerers, then this is definitely something worth considering. If you aren't sure if someone has Hue lights, then the Tap Dial would be an even better gift when paired with a new bulb.
