Araqchi at Beirut Airport: We Affirm our Support for Lebanon's Unity, Sovereignty in the face of occupation

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi landed in Beirut Tuesday morning as part of a broader regional diplomatic tour, offering strong statements of solidarity with Lebanon against what he described as external interference and occupation. Upon arrival at Rafik Hariri International Airport, where he was greeted by the Iranian ambassador and members of the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc, Araqchi immediately emphasized Tehran's commitment to Lebanon's sovereignty. 'No party has the right to interfere in Lebanon's internal affairs,' Araqchi declared during a brief press conference, while reaffirming Iran's backing for Beirut in its stance against Israeli occupation. He extended congratulations to the Lebanese people for the upcoming Resistance and Liberation Day on May 25 and offered Eid al-Adha greetings. The visit, which follows a stop in Cairo, includes planned meetings with Lebanon's President, Parliament Speaker, Prime Minister, and Foreign Minister. Araqchi highlighted that Iran's foreign policy prioritizes relationships with neighboring countries and regional allies. 'Relations between Iran and Lebanon are historic, deeply rooted, and based on mutual respect,' he stated, emphasizing Tehran's determination to strengthen bilateral ties. 'Lebanon's independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity are fundamental to Iran and the entire West Asian region.' The Iranian diplomat stressed that Tehran's support for Lebanon 'does not in any way imply interference' but rather demonstrates solidarity with 'oppressed peoples.' He condemned ongoing Israeli occupation of Lebanese territories, calling it a violation of Lebanon's sovereignty. Araqchi expressed hope for 'a new chapter in bilateral relations' founded on mutual respect and shared interests. Hamid: Iran Has Stood by Lebanon in The Most Difficult Circumstances For his part, MP Ayoub Hamid, a member of the Development and Liberation bloc, welcomed the Iranian minister at the airport. He emphasized that 'the Iranian people have always stood by the Lebanese people in the darkest of circumstances.' He welcomed Araqchi on behalf of Speaker Nabih Berri, the leaders of the Amal Movement, Hezbollah, the Palestinian factions, and all national and Islamic forces. 'The relationship between the Iranian and Lebanese peoples is solid, marked by a spirit of brotherhood,' Hamid noted, adding that the substantial turnout welcoming Araqchi 'reflects the depth of this relationship.'

MP Fadlallah: Hezbollah Military Formulas Remain Active, Governmental Failure in Reconstruction Pushes Lebanon to Instability

Member of Loyalty to Resistance bloc Dr. Hasan Fadlallah recalled the anniversary of the liberation of the Lebanese territories from the Israeli occupation in 2000, highlighting the great role of the Master of the Umma's Martyrs Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah and the military commanders of the resistance in addition to the people who made all the sacrifices in order to reach the achievements. In this regard, Sayyed Fadlallah underlined the mercy of the Resistance in dealing with the members of Lahd treacherous militia, adding that Sayyed Nasrallah wanted to reassure all the Lebanese sects at that time. MP Fadlallah added that Lebanon is still enjoying the bless of the liberation, adding that the military formulas maintained by Hezbollah are still active. Regarding the Israeli violations, Sayyed Fadlallah reiterated that the Lebanese government is responsible for facing the Zionist enemy in coordination with the ceasefire monitor committee. When necessary, the Resistance will take the suitable decision in this regard, MP fadlallah added. Sayyed Fadlallah indicated that file of the prisoners is following a certain path that may not be directly handled by the government, without giving further details. Commenting on BBC report which shows its reporter with the UN troops in South Lebanon without any coordination with the Lebanese state, MP Fadlallah stressed that the Lebanese Army is tasked to address any problem caused by the UNIFIL troops. Lebanese Politics MP Fadlallah stressed that Hezbollah is not concerned with responding to every negative statement made against it, indicating that PM Nawaf Salam's negative remarks show that he has not adapted with the requirements of his post. 'None can distort the history about the Resistance role in liberating the Lebanese territories from the Israeli occupation.' Loyalty to Resistance bloc's meeting with President Joseph Aoun was positive, according to Sayyed Fadlallah who added that the president knows the Lebanese parties who are moving against his will to maintain stability in the country. Commenting on the remarks of the FM Youssef Rajji, who is affiliated with the Lebanese Forces, MP Fadlallah underscored that some Lebanese parties moved their barricades from the civil war to the council of ministers. The Lebanese government is not assuming its responsibilities regarding the Israeli withdrawal and halt of attacks as well as the reconstruction project, according to Hezbollah lawmaker. The governmental reluctance to carry out the reconstruction project will cause instability, MP Fadlallah said, adding that Hezbollah has managed to provide the needed funds for housing and reconstructing the damaged houses of 400 thousand families despite the pressures and siege. MP Fadlallah affirmed that the political and administrative reform in Lebanon must be maintained, calling for observing all the laws passed by the parliament in this regard.

KSA inclined to lift Lebanon travel ban on 1st day of Eid al-Adha

Saudi Arabia is inclined to lift the ban on the travel of its citizens to Lebanon on the first day of Eid al-Adha, which is expected to be marked on June 6, Al-Jadeed TV reported on Wednesday. LBCI television had reported Tuesday that 'a specialized technical Saudi committee will visit Lebanon in the coming weeks to study the obstacles standing in the way of the travel of Saudi tourists and to find the appropriate mechanisms for addressing them.' Two Emirati passenger planes landed Wednesday at the Rafik Hariri International Airport after the UAE lifted its travel ban on Lebanon. Lebanon's Nidaa al-Watan newspaper reported Tuesday that after the UAE allowed its citizens to travel to Lebanon, the fellow countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council are inclined to follow suit in the near future. 'Intensive meetings are being held with political and security officials, most notably the meeting that PM Nawaf Salam will hold today (Tuesday) with the GCC ambassadors to explain the measures that the Lebanese state has taken at the airport, its vicinity and along the road leading to it with the aim of reassuring these countries before they take the ban lifting decisions,' the daily quoted a 'highly informed source' as saying. In 2021, the United Arab Emirates imposed the travel ban and withdrew diplomats from Beirut in solidarity with Saudi Arabia, after a Lebanese minister criticized the Riyadh-led military intervention in Yemen. Ties between Beirut and the Gulf countries had soured in the past decade over Hezbollah's influence on Lebanon. But with the group weakened by its recent war with Israel, several Gulf countries have renewed their interest in Lebanon. In March, Saudi Arabia said it would review "obstacles" to resuming Lebanese imports and ending a ban on its citizens visiting Lebanon, following a visit by President Joseph Aoun to the kingdom.
