Local couple suing boat manufacturer, seller after baby permanently injured in 2024 boating incident
Local parents are suing a Jacksonville store and Canadian boat manufacturer after they say their 11-month-old received a permanent brain injury during a boating incident.
According to the lawsuit, William Grullon and Sheila Feliciano, the parents of the toddler, were boating at Black Creek Marina in Clay County on Aug. 25, 2024.

The lawsuit alleges that while approaching the boat ramp, the boat 'suddenly and without warning flipped upside down.'
Grullon and Feliciano were thrown from the boat, but the baby was trapped underneath. The lawsuit states the child suffered a 'catastrophic anoxic brain injury.'
According to the lawsuit, the boat was a 2024 Sea-Doo Switch, which is manufactured by a Canadian Foreign Corporation called Bombardier Recreational Sports, Inc.
The boat was sold to the family in July 2024 by Jacksonville Power Sports. The couple alleges the boat was advertised as 'safe, reliable and seaworthy.'

The lawsuit states Bombardier Recreational Sports, Inc. knew the boat was 'prone to flipping' based on previous complaints and the design.
Grullon and Feliciano are suing for $50,000.
The family will hold a news conference about the lawsuit on Thursday at the Black Creek Marina, according to the family's lawyer.

Good Samaritan steps up to help Grandview carpenter after trailer, tools stolen
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Some good news, a good Samaritan who saw our story about a carpenter who said his trailer and equipment were stolen in Grandview, is stepping up to help. . Kyle Hudson now has a set of tools and lots of equipment thanks to a generous donation. 'Once it leaves here it's yours,' the good Samaritan said. 'I hope it helps.' The man who donated more than a dozen pieces of equipment wanted to remain anonymous, but felt pulled to help. He heard Hudson's story. Hudson said in May, a thief took off with his trailer, along with all his Milwaukee tools and work equipment inside. It was parked outside his home in Grandview and wasn't insured. He said about $10,000-worth of items — gone. 'The material and the equipment got stolen in the trailer,' Hudson said. A generous viewer saw our FOX4 story and reached out to help Hudson, a total stranger. We were there for the hand off of equipment, including saws, drills, even an air compressor. They were all items he owned. 'They were items that I've had it for several years and I love it.' The man said. 'Sell it or do whatever to get you some Milwaukee stuff again.' 'It means getting back to work sooner than later,' Hudson said, 'With everything here pretty much immediately. And that was pretty far out of sight.' The man donating this equipment related to Hudson's story. He said about ten years ago, a thief stole $25-30,000-worth of work equipment out of his trailer. He told me, that's why he wants to help. Hudson said since the trailer and everything inside was stolen, he's lost several grateful this equipment will help him get back to work. 'There are good people out there, it might not be your next-door neighbor but there are people that are going to help if you speak up. West Plains man charged with harassment after driving past coworker's house almost every day, sending letters
HOWELL COUNTY, Mo. — A man from West Plains faces a felony after sending his coworker multiple letters asking her out and even sending her boyfriend a letter pretending to be her. According to court dockets, Corby Redburn, born 1999, is charged with first-degree harassment. The probable cause statement says the victim reported the harassment to law enforcement in March of 2025, telling them she had received 11 anonymous letters delivered through the United States Postal Service to her West Plains home since November of 2024. The letters were romantic in nature, asking the victim go on dates. One letter offered her $150,000 to attend an event, the statement says. The victim said she was worried she was being stalked in other ways. During the investigation, Redburn, a coworker, was identified as a suspect. The victim stated Redburn approached her for a date in November of 2024, but she turned him down, telling him that she had a boyfriend. In an interview with law enforcement, Redburn confessed to sending the letters. Redburn told police he felt that he had a relationship with the victim, that she had broken up with him, and that the letters were an attempt 'to get her back.' However, the investigation revealed that the victim and Redburn had never had a personal relationship at any point, and Redburn had manufactured the belief they had been dating. Additionally, Redburn confessed to sending a letter to the victim's boyfriend, pretending to be her and telling him that she wanted to break up. Redburn also admitted to tampering with the victim's computer login at work 'to force her to contact him.' Furthermore, Redburn admitted to driving by her house 'almost every day,' the statement says. The criminal complaint says Redburn was a police dispatcher and obtained information from Omnigo — a criminal justice information sharing system that contains individually identifiable information — by searching to see if the victim had filed any reports against him in early March.
