Kuwait Fire Force concludes Ramadan Futsal Championship

KUWAIT CITY, March 11: The Ramadan Firefighters' Futsal Championship, organized by the Kuwait Fire Force Sports Union, concluded at the Martyr Fahad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Hall in Al-Daiya.
According to a press release issued by the Kuwait Fire Force (KFF), the championship, which was held from March 6 to 10, witnessed the participation of eight teams representing various sectors and departments of KFF.
At the end of the final match, Major General Talal Al-Roumi awarded the first and second-place trophies to the winning teams.
The closing ceremony was attended by several senior officials, including the acting Vice President of KFF for the Finance and Administration Sector Brigadier General Mohammad Ali Shamsan, Director of the Ahmadi Governorate Prevention Department Brigadier General Mohsen Muslim Abdullah, Director of the Health Affairs Department and Head of the Sports Federation Colonel Fayez Abdul Aziz Ahmed, along with other senior KFF officials.

KUWAIT CITY, May 5: The tenth edition of the Arab Handball Cup, hosted by Kuwait until May 11, continues today with three exciting group stage matches in the second round. Tunisia will face Qatar in Group B at 3:00 pm. At 5:00 pm, Morocco takes on the UAE in a Group C clash. The day concludes at 7:00 pm with a Group A showdown between Egypt and Iraq. Talal Al-Otaibi, member of the Kuwait Handball Association and the Executive Office of the Arab Handball Federation, praised the level of competition and the enthusiasm shown by all participating Arab nations. Al-Otaibi noted that the technical performance is expected to rise in the second round, as teams intensify preparations for upcoming regional and international tournaments. He expressed gratitude to Kuwait's sports leadership, particularly Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi and Acting Director of the Public Authority for Sports Bashar Abdullah, for their commitment to supporting the tournament. He also thanked the Arab Handball Federation for entrusting Kuwait with hosting duties. Yousef Al-Muallem, Director of National Teams at the Qatar Handball Federation, confirmed that Al-Annabi came with a balanced team of youth and experience, aiming to compete seriously for the championship title. He acknowledged the strength of the opposition and pledged that his players would give their best. Ahmed Al-Najem, administrator of the Bahraini national team, said the team is using the Arab Championship as key preparation for the Asian Cup. He noted the technical staff is closely monitoring player performance and readiness. Magdy Abu Al-Majd, coach of the Egyptian youth team, praised Kuwait's exceptional organization and hospitality, citing it as one of the reasons behind Egypt's participation. 'Kuwait has the entire necessary infrastructure, and the tournament's preparation is top-tier,' Abu Al-Majd said. 'It feels like we're participating in a World Cup-level event.'

CAIRO, May 1: The Arab Shooting Championship concluded with Egypt dominating the overall medal tally, followed by Kuwait in second place and Qatar in third. The event featured competitions in pistol and air rifle shooting, skeet, and trap shooting for both men and women. Egypt led the standings with a total of 30 medals—11 gold, 13 silver, and 6 bronze. Kuwait secured second place with 12 medals, including 7 gold and 5 bronze, while Qatar claimed third with 10 medals (3 gold, 4 silver, and 3 bronze). Bahrain ranked fourth with 10 medals, earning 1 gold, 3 silver, and 6 bronze. The Kuwaiti shooting team delivered standout performances, particularly in skeet and trap events. It clinched gold in both the men's team skeet and men's skeet competitions. The team also excelled in trap shooting, securing gold and bronze in the men's event, gold in the men's team trap, gold in the women's trap, and bronze in the women's team trap. Kuwait concluded its medal haul with a victory in the mixed team trap event, where Talal Al-Tarqi and Shahad Al-Hawal earned the gold medal.
