Inter Miami predicted lineup vs. Philadelphia Union – Lionel Messi, Busquets, and more
This weekend, Inter Miami will be looking to turn things around after a recent downturn, and the Union is just trying to keep space in the playoff picture. Inter Miami hopes to turn its season around with the return of star forward Lionel Messi, while Philadelphia aims to build on its unbeaten home streak.
Both teams are going to go with robust lineups in what shapes up as a high-stakes and intense encounter with playoff implications on the line.
Inter Miami's projected lineup and key players
Expect coach Javier Mascherano to set up a 4-4-2. Oscar Ustari, the veteran goalkeeper, is the natural choice to start between the sticks. Potentially also in the backline: Ian Fray at right-back, Tomas Avilés and Noah Allen as center-backs, and Jordi Alba on the left. Sergio Busquets is expected to anchor the midfield along with Yannick Bright in the center, with Benjamin Cremaschi and Telasco Segovia outside him.
Luis Suárez will spearhead the attack, with Lionel Messi coming back from a slight adductor strain to perhaps partner him up front.
Here's the projected Inter Miami CF lineup:
Formation: 4-4-2
Goalkeeper:
Oscar Ustari
Defenders:
Right-back: Ian Fray
Center-back: Tomas Avilés
Center-back: Noah Allen
Left-back: Jordi Alba
Midfielders:
Central Midfield: Sergio Busquets
Central Midfield: Yannick Bright
Right Midfield: Benjamin Cremaschi
Left Midfield: Telasco Segovia
Forwards:
Luis Suárez
Lionel Messi (returning from minor adductor injury)
Luis Suárez has been the most consistent offensive performer for FC Cincinnati despite those recent challenges. Messi can add a layer of creativity to bring Inter Miami back to form.
Philadelphia Union's form and potential threats
Philadelphia Union comes into the match having not lost in six matches and will likely be organized and difficult to break down.
Striker Tai Baribo has been in incredible form, with seven goals in league play and 12 in his last 11 competitive games. A good sign for Union attackers is that after sitting out a week and a half ago with a minor hamstring issue, he fully recovered in time for this match.
A big boost for the Union defensively comes from the return of Olwethu Makhanya, who is back from suspension. He being there should strengthen the defense against the Inter Miami offense.

This match will be one of the most exciting clashes of the MLS weekend.

‘Right Move At The Right Time': Ricky Ponting Backs Shubman Gill As Indias New Test Captain Ahead Of England Series
Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting has thrown his full support behind the decision, calling it a smart long-term investment in Indian cricket's future. "Right Move at the Right Time" – Ponting on Gill's Appointment Speaking on The ICC Review, Ponting said, 'I think it's the right move. A lot of pundits may have expected Jasprit Bumrah to be named captain, but considering his injury history, it's not a practical choice. You need a captain who's regularly available, and Gill fits that bill perfectly.' Ponting, who has worked with Gill during IPL stints, applauded the young batter's temperament and leadership maturity, particularly in how he managed the Gujarat Titans through a turbulent IPL 2025 campaign. 'Leadership suits him. He carries himself well, and most importantly, he scores runs, a crucial quality for any captain. I believe the timing is right, and Gill can become a great Test captain,' Ponting added. Where Should Gill Bat? Ponting Suggests No. 4 While confident in Gill's captaincy, Ponting shared his thoughts on where Gill should bat during the England series. Gill has alternated between opener and No. 3 in his 32-Test career, but Ponting feels he might benefit from a slightly lower position. 'I think Sudharsan and Jaiswal will open. Sudharsan looks classy and technically sound. At No. 3, they might opt for someone with more experience like KL Rahul or Karun Nair. That would allow Shubman to slot in at No. 4, easing the pressure on him as a young captain.' A Promising New Top Order Ponting projected India's potential top five for the series as follows: Openers: Sai Sudharsan, Yashasvi Jaiswal No. 3: KL Rahul or Karun Nair No. 4: Shubman Gill No. 5: Karun Nair (if not at No. 3) or another middle-order option The former Australian skipper believes that while India is entering a transition phase, the depth in young talent gives them an edge over other teams. Replacing Legends, Building A Future 'It's never easy to replace legends like Rohit and Virat,' Ponting acknowledged. 'But if any country can do it seamlessly, it's India. Their bench strength is unmatched, and we've seen youngsters like Jaiswal adapt quickly to international cricket. The challenge is replacing the experience, not the skill.' Despite being a young side, India will still have experienced campaigners like KL Rahul and Jasprit Bumrah to guide the transition. Arshdeep Singh: A Left-Field Pick with Big Potential Ponting also commented on the surprise inclusion of left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh in India's squad. While some saw it as a gamble, Ponting praised the decision, citing Arshdeep's County experience and his success under English conditions. 'I'd start with Arshdeep in the playing XI. He's skillful, understands the conditions, and the Duke's ball will help him swing it late. Having a left-armer adds a valuable dimension to India's bowling attack,' Ponting said. England Tour: A New Chapter for Indian Test Cricket India's upcoming tour is part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025–27 cycle and marks the beginning of a new era without Kohli and Rohit. With Shubman Gill at the helm and a fresh crop of young stars waiting to shine, this tour could define India's Test future for years to come.

Sachin Tendulkar instantly becomes the star attraction on entering Aamir Khan's house; visitors scream 'Sachin, Sachin'
Sachin Tendulkar and his wife, Anjali, recently visited Aamir Khan's home during the premiere of the actor's latest film, 'Sitaare Zameen Par'. The cricket icon instantly drew the attention of every guest present. As soon as he stepped in, murmurs turned into roars, and the atmosphere transformed. The room burst into the familiar, spine-tingling 'Sachin, Sachin' chant, a sound that once echoed through stadiums across the world and now rang loudly in the heart of Bollywood. Tendulkar, ever the gracious legend, responded with his trademark smile, acknowledging the guests with warmth and humility. He thanked those present for their love and unwavering support. Tendulkar and Aamir share a particularly close relationship. Over the years, the two icons, from entirely different worlds, have often spoken about their appreciation for each other's craft. Whether it's attending film premieres or cricket matches, their appearances together frequently draw attention. The actor also invited Tendulkar to a special screening of the movie Loveyaapa in February earlier this year, which featured Aamir's son Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor. Tendulkar was most recently a part of the Mumbai Indians' dugout as the side reached the playoffs of IPL 2025 under Hardik Pandya's captaincy. However, MI lost in Qualifier 2 against Punjab Kings. While Tendulkar has stayed away from broadcasting for a long time, he is among the most active voices on Indian cricket on social media platforms. Earlier, it was reported that India and England will contest a newly named trophy when they face off in the upcoming five-match Test series in the UK, the Tendulkar-Anderson Trophy, honouring two of the game's greatest legends. According to a report by the BBC, the new trophy will be unveiled ahead of the series opener at Headingley on June 20. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), however, has not issued an official comment on the development. One of the game's all-time greats, Tendulkar remains the leading run-scorer in Test history with 15,921. The 52-year-old played 200 Tests between 1989 and 2013 and holds innumerable records across the two formats of Test and ODI. Anderson is both England's all-time leading wicket-taker and the most successful pace bowler in Test cricket with 704 wickets.

‘This kid is a superstar': Michael Clarke backs Sai Sudharsan's Test debut at No 3 for India vs England
With India embracing a Test transition from the forthcoming five-match series in England onwards, former Australia captain Michael Clarke has made his pick for India's key No. 3 position as skipper Shubman Gill is slated to take over the No. 4 position vacated after Virat Kohli's retirement. Clarke has picked Tamil Nadu sensation Sai Sudharsan to be drafted directly to take over the slot when Gill slides one spot down from No. 3 starting June 20 in Headingley. 'To me, this kid is a superstar, Sai Sudharsan. I think he is a number three in Test cricket. I think he is probably going to open the batting in time in India's T20I and ODI team. He is in their Test squad. He gets his first opportunity in England,' Clarke said on the Beyond23 Cricket podcast. The left-handed Sudharsan had a dream IPL season with the Gujarat Titans. Outscoring his captain Gill, Sudharsan topped the batting charts in the league, winning the Orange Cap after slamming 759 runs in 15 matches. Averaging 54.21 with a strike rate of 156.17, Sudharsan notched up a century and six fifties as the Titans finished fourth in the Playoffs. Despite holding a sub-40 average in First-Class cricket, Clarka has backed Sudharsan to fit in well at number three for India. 'I think he can walk in straight to bat at number three. I think technically he's very good, he's got all the shots and mentally, he's ready. He really impressed me and he's a good looking player as well,' Clarke said. Sudharsan won the Emerging Player of the Season award in the IPL 2025 edition and has previously appeared in two County stints with Surrey between 2023-24. In his last outing for the side, Sudharsan cracked his maiden First-Class century in English conditons while batting at No. 6. Overall, the 23-year-old averages 39.93 for 1957 runs in 29 FC outings since his debut in 2022
