Markings along road in Wheaton pointing turning drivers in the wrong direction
WHEATON, Ill. (WGN) — Crews who laid down new road markings in Wheaton this week may have been a little bit confused about what exactly they were trying to tell drivers to do.
WGN Traffic Map: Get the latest real time traffic updates
SkyCam 9 was over the intersection of Naperville Road and Butterfield Road early Friday morning when cars could be seen lined up in the northbound lanes of Naperville Road, but road markings in the right turn lanes appeared to be incorrectly indicating to drivers which direction they were supposed to turn.
It looks like crews blocked off the far left turn lane with road cones, though it is unclear if the closure is due to the markings.
The markings did not appear to be impacting traffic much and drivers seemed to know which direction they needed to go, despite the poor guidance.

It is unclear exactly when the road markings were painted or how long it will be before the proper markings are laid down.

While you may have an investing style you rely on, finding great stocks is made easier with the Zacks Style Scores. These are complementary indicators that rate stocks based on value, growth, and/or momentum characteristics. For momentum investors, upward or downward trends in a stock's price or earnings outlook take precedent, so they'll want to zero in on the Momentum Style Score. This Score can pinpoint good times to build a position in a stock, using factors like one-week price change and the monthly percentage change in earnings estimates. Established in 1990, Penske Automotive Group, Inc., based in Bloomfield Hills, MI, engages in the operation of automotive and commercial truck dealerships in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, Italy, and Japan. The company also distributes and retails commercial vehicles, diesel engines, gas engines, power systems and related parts and services, principally in Australia and New Zealand. Looking at trading volume, an average of 199,399.30 shares exchanged hands over the last 20 trading days. A company's earnings performance is important for momentum investors as well. For fiscal 2025, four analysts revised their earnings estimate higher in the last 60 days for PAG, while the Zacks Consensus Estimate has increased $0.17 to $13.99 per share. PAG also boasts an average earnings surprise of 2.6%. Archer and Wichita County residents take matters into own hands to have road repaired
WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — Residents in Wichita and Archer County are taking matters into their own hands after they say a severely damaged road has continued to cause issues for drivers using the road with no repairs in sight. For three years now, Archer and Wichita County residents, including Emily Spoelstra, have been battling a major roadway problem. 'This slew of potholes that have become more and more dangerous as time goes on. We moved in two years ago, but for at least the last three years, we've been talking to archer county commissioner Todd herring. Everyone that we can think of to try to get these repaired, but we're really stuck in the middle,' Spoelstra said. From receiving two different responses from government officials… 'Between what archer county lists our road as, as a private road and what the Texas department of transportation listed as as a public road,' Spoelstra said. And Spoelstra said even more damage will occur if this problem isn't resolved. 'Over the winter, we've had one car accident that happened when these were all filled with rain and it was difficult to see at night where one car went off the road and nearly hit this power line in that, trash bin of my neighbors, which was really scary for the whole neighborhood. I've had damage to my personal vehicle hitting one of these when there's been another road or another car on the road, and to avoid it,' Spoelstra said. And until they can get some answers, Spoelstra said the residents in the neighborhood are taking things into their own hands by creating a GoFundMe to raise funds for repairs. 'Then realized that that could make, that could be a legal quagmire for our neighborhood. So then we paused. We're still accepting donations for it, because our next recourse might be to hire an attorney to find what we need to do next,' Spoelstra said. As of now, they have raised $1,300 of their $1,500 goal. Click here to make a donation. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Camp Drive: Kids learn how to work on vehicles
Rapid City, S.D. (KELO) — Camp Drive is a hands-on two-day experience for kids to learn more about vehicles. Black Hills Tire shuts down operations each summer to put this camp on with their auto mechanics. South Dakota's fall pheasant outlook is 'very positive' These 40 campers – ages 12 to 15 – are going through eight different stations, both learning and performing important tasks. 'There's the tire session where they get to take off a tire and put it back on, just about safety. The alignment, which is really cool, talks about how it's important that all the components of your car, the suspension components, are accurate and well and balanced. Oil changes, just general maintenance like how to test a battery. The breaks, those are super popular, they get to take breaks apart and put them back together,' Black Hills Tire Owner Tenise Chapman said. Camper Brock Mayers is back for his 2nd year to learn more about cars. 'I'm kind of relearning how to weld and HVAC is also really interesting and the breaks, that's really fun,' 7th Grader Brock Mayes said. These students learn eight different stations, and can help pique their interest in a future career. 'We actually have two kids that work for us now that they came to Camp Drive the first two years and now they work part time for us in the summer because they got introduced to it and they liked it and wanted to follow their passions. So it's really cool,' Chapman said. 'These skills could help because you can save a lot on mechanic bills and you could work on your own car. And if your car were to break down on the side of the road you could know how to change a tire and not have to call a tow truck. And this could also bring some really good job opportunities.' Mayes Said The camp will culminate with a Pit Crew Challenge tomorrow, where these kids will put their skills to the test in a friendly competition. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc.
