Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr will soon be teaming up once again. The two are working together on the upcoming animated film High in the Clouds, which is based on the children's book McCartney published in 2005. McCartney is one of the driving forces behind the project, and he's also slated to write — and possibly perform — original songs.
Starr, meanwhile, will voice a character in the movie. While it's not confirmed, McCartney could lend his vocal talents as well. No release date for the film has been announced yet, but fans of McCartney, Starr, and of course, The Beatles, are thrilled about the reunion.
Every time former bandmates from the most successful group of all time come together, it's a momentous occasion. McCartney and Starr have a long track record of supporting each other's work, even after they split from one another professionally.
McCartney showed up in a big way to help Starr with his self-titled solo album Ringo. He played multiple instruments and sang backing vocals on the tune 'Six O'Clock,' one of the standout tracks from the full-length. The song was released in 1973, only a few years after The Beatles split, highlighting how quickly the two reconnected.
About a decade later, Starr returned the favor. McCartney was developing a film based on a fictionalized version of his own life titled Give My Regards to Broad Street, and he incorporated both new music and Beatles classics. Starr stepped in to play drums on several of the band's most iconic tunes, such as 'Yesterday' and 'Eleanor Rigby,' which were featured in the movie.
McCartney once again reached out to Starr for help on his solo album Flaming Pie. The track 'Beautiful Night' is a gorgeous, orchestra-backed ballad that benefits greatly from Starr's drumming — and his presence brought added star power to the cut.
The year after Flaming Pie, Starr invited McCartney to collaborate on his album Vertical Man. The two worked together on 'La De Da,' with McCartney contributing background vocals and instrumentation to the rocking cut. The song was warmly received by fans of both musicians.
In 2010, Starr released his self-produced album Y Not, and McCartney lent a hand on multiple tracks. One, titled 'Peace Dream,' honored their former bandmate John Lennon. With George Harrison no longer living, only the two remaining Beatles could unite on the tune. McCartney also sang a duet with Starr on the heartfelt 'Walk With You.'
In 2023, McCartney and Starr announced to the world that The Beatles had one final single to share. The track 'Now and Then' was originally started by Lennon before his death, but the recording he left behind was long considered unusable due to excessive background noise.
Harrison had begun laying down instrumentation for the tune, though it was never completed during his lifetime. With the help of artificial intelligence, the surviving members were able to clean up the audio. McCartney and Starr added new lyrics and music, releasing a polished version of 'Now and Then,' which became a massive global hit. The track earned the pair a new Grammy Award in early 2025.

London Grammar's lead singer said she hoped 'music can bring us together' amid the 'sad' state of the world, as the band headlined LIDO Festival. The indie pop group captivated crowds at the show in London's Victoria Park on a balmy Sunday night. The band, made up of lead singer Hannah Reid, guitarist Dan Rothman, and keyboardist Dominic 'Dot' Major released their latest album, The Greatest Love, in September last year. Against a backdrop of raging conflicts around the world, Reid, 35, said the timing of the performance was 'poignant' for her. Addressing the festival crowd, she added: 'I'm struggling to be honest, the world's not a very nice place at the moment, and it's really, really, sad. 'Sometimes I think being a musician and a singer doing these shows can feel a little bit self-indulgent, I guess, or that we're here having a good time when so many people in the world are suffering. 'And I swore to myself that I would never, ever give a speech like this on stage. 'Day one, at the start of our career, I was like: 'I'm never going to be that person.' Because I've seen many men, many male musicians, no offence guys, give really long speeches that go on and on about the world. 'So I'm going to stop now because I'm not going to do that. But thank you so much for being here with us tonight. I wish the music can bring us together, just for a moment.' Wearing a black top and black skirt, Reid said the band were 'three friends who have always been best friends since day one'. Her haunting vocals, which could equally feature on the soundtrack of a David Lynch film as headline act of a festival in Tower Hamlets, were in evidence as the band launched into their first song Hey Now. Reid, who has spoken in the past of her 'terrible stage fright' and building 'a career off vulnerability', cut a confident presence on stage despite having to restart her third song, Kind of Man, after forgetting the lyrics. Appearing on BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour last month, Reid said the 'process of becoming a mum' had given her the perspective to enjoy shows in a way that she previously struggled with when the band launched into the public eye over a decade ago. Reid told the crowds on Sunday that the band's other musicians had changed positions on stage for the first time. She said: 'We've been performing together for 15 years. This is the first time ever, and I wasn't sent the memo, that the boys have switched around on either side of me.' A hit with the audience was the band's version of Nightcall – a cover of a Kavinsky song which became widely known after it was featured in the 2024 Paris Olympics closing ceremony. Reid's soaring vocals at the end of Wasting My Young Years also prompted cheers and applause from the crowd. London Grammar fan Zoey Axton, 27, said she enjoyed the band's 'moody and electric set'. Ms Axton, who is from San Francisco, USA, added: 'It was the perfect vibe for a Sunday evening.' The band formed after Reid and guitarist Rothman met while they were students at the University of Nottingham in 2009. Sunday's wider offering at Victoria Park had a contingent of dance artists in line with other LIDO festivals, headlined by UK bastions Charli XCX and Jamie xx, featuring Roísín Murphy and Neil Frances. Reid previously said the festival would showcase 'women being really strong and making themselves vulnerable at the same time'. Other performers compiled by London Grammar for the festival included soul singer Celeste, Pip Millett, Wasia Project, and Maverick Sabre. Named after Victoria Park's historic Lido Field, the music series was announced last autumn.

One way to figure out a person's emotional maturity is to pay attention to how they handle conflict in their life. 'Do they have some solid coping strategies? Or do they just kind of wing it?' Cohen said. 'Their answer can tell you a lot — like if they're self-aware, whether they stick it out when things get rough, and how well they keep their cool (or not).' Another indicator if a potential suitor is a man-child or not is if you can decipher whethey they did the work on themselves by going to therapy and learning tools to self-soothe. By asking them about this, 'You'll get a sense of what they need, how they handle things, and maybe even how they deal with stress or think about mental health,' the expert explained to the outlet. It's also important to vet a person by asking about their accomplishments and what they're most proud of. 'This two-parter is a super easy way to get the lowdown on your match,' Cohen said. When talking about past relationships, rather than asking the basic questions like 'When was your last relationship?' or 'Why did you end things?' — instead ask what the person learned from them. This milion dollar question will reveal a lot about a person. 'Basically, you're seeing if they've taken time to reflect, process the ups and downs, and figure out how to do better next time,' the expert explained. 'It's not about perfection — just about being real and ready to grow.' Another indicator that a guy is immature is if he has this one specific line in his dating app. When revealing his height upfront, if a guy's dating app profile says 'because apparently that matters' — run for the hills. 'They're making a presumption about what all women want and painting us with the same passive-aggressive brush,' Cosmopolitan's associate sex and relationships editor Kayla Kibbe said in a recent essay. 'The belief these men are responding to isn't totally unfounded,' she conceded, '[but] the height standard to which many men seem to feel subjected is not one that was devised by women but rather one imposed on us all by internalized patriarchal beliefs.'
