This is how much time off Dubai will get for Eid Al Adha 2025
One of the biggest public holidays of the year in Dubai is fast approaching, and it's now been officially confirmed how long we'll get off for the next long weekend.
Eid Al Adha will arrive in the first week of June and promises to give us an extended four-day break.

The public holiday begins on the Islamic date of Dhu Al Hijjah 9, Arafat Day, and lasts until Dhu Al Hijjah 12.
The UAE moon-sighting committee has confirmed that the break will begin on Thursday June 5, and run until Sunday June 8.
Eid Al Adha is one of the public holidays in the UAE that relies on the Islamic Hijri Calendar to determine when exactly it begins.
The Hijri calendar relies on lunar cycles and means that Islamic months are either 29 or 30 days long.
Why Eid Al Adha will be a four-day weekend
The UAE public holiday law, introduced at the beginning of 2025, states that public holiday dates that fall on weekends can be shifted around the calendar.
It means that if the Islamic Hijri date of a public holiday corresponds with a weekend, then it can be transferred to the beginning of the next week or the end of the previous week.
However the two longest public holidays – Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha – cannot be transferred if a day coincides with a weekend.
The official wording of the law states: 'With the exception of Eid holidays, the Cabinet may – pursuant to a resolution it issues – transfer any of the public holidays referred to in Article (1) of this Resolution to the beginning or end of the week.'

A minimalist reshuffle, but is Swinney just rearranging deckchairs on the Titanic?
This was one of the most minimalist reshuffles I have seen. In fact it was so small they weren't even going to bother with the ritual of ministers going in the front door of Bute House. In the end they relented and first in was Mairi McAllan, with the Clydesdale MSP returning to work from maternity leave and straight back in to Cabinet as housing secretary. It's an important appointment because it's hard to see how the SNP can go into a Scottish Parliament election in the midst of a housing emergency, which they themselves have declared. You are also going to see a lot more of her because she will be the unofficial minister for media interviews as well. She was on Scotland Tonight on Monday and was the party's spokesperson at the by-election count last week. Mairi McAllan is also seen by some as a potential future leader of the SNP. When she was going in to Bute House I asked her if she had confidence in John Swinney – 'absolute confidence' she said. The reason I asked was because The Herald is reporting today that there are plots emerging to challenge John Swinney's leadership, or at least his authority, following the Hamilton by-election loss to Labour. On the steps of Bute House with his newly appointed ministers behind him, he said he was making modest changes to Government and would aim to 'deliver hope to the people of Scotland through the realisation of our ambitions for Scotland, in making Scotland the best that we can be, and we can only do that if Scotland is an independent country'. I spent four hours hanging about outside Bute House this morning. The place was swarming with tour buses and tourists eager to find out what was going on. The highlight for me was the line used by quite a few tour guides to explain the purpose of Bute House – 'it's like Scotland's equivalent of the White House' was the line most of them used. In Alex Salmond's day he was known to step out of Bute House straight on to tour buses and welcome the foreign visitors to Scotland – they just thought everyone got that kind of welcome. Not so welcome news today for the previous housing minister Paul McLennan, who was sacked in the reshuffle, and the post bumped up to Cabinet. Alasdair Allan will also leave government to focus on campaigning for his Western Isles constituency. Gillian Martin stays on as energy secretary, and Maree Todd becomes drugs minister following the death of Christina McKelvie, which led to that Hamilton by-election. In response, Labour and the Conservatives dusted off the oldest reshuffle cliché around accusing the First Minister of 'rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic'. Dubai tourism numbers indicate 2025 could be record year
It's no secret that Dubai is one of the best cities in the world with so many amazing things to do, tasty places to eat and incredible attractions to see. And the latest Dubai tourism numbers suggest that 2025 is set to be another record-breaking year when it comes to people visiting the emirate. Between January and April this year 7.15 million people visited the emirate, according to statistics released by Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism ahead of the summer season. For context, this number is a seven percent increase on the same period in 2024. Overall, last year saw a nine percent increase in visitors from 2023. Mohammed Bin Rashid Library (Credit: DET) While the latest overall statistics apply to the first four months of the year, the latest stats for the Eid Al Adha period show that Dubai remains a popular destination for travellers – with 629,559 people recorded at entry and exit points during the public holiday. Dubai's biggest airline Emirates will target specific regions with different promotions with free hotel stays, discounts on city attractions and more offered throughout the year. Regular live events, such as concerts, target this specific audience with a significant portion of ticket buyers for the city's many EDM shows hailing from Europe. It should also be no surprise that Dubai remains a popular tourist destination with its biggest airport, Dubai International Airport, being named the world's busiest international airport once again. And in the first period of the year, Dubai also hosted cultural festivals for Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr. While major sporting events such as the ICC Champions Trophy T20 cricket tournament, Hero Dubai Desert Classic golf tournament, Dubai World Cup horse race and the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships all brought significant numbers of visitors to the emirate. The latest Dubai tourism figures came during a City Briefing at Coca-Cola Arena on Tuesday June 10. The City Briefing highlighted the initiatives such as Dubai's autism friendly certification and the MyDubai Communities programmes, as reasons the emirate is evolving as a destination. And it is hoped that the return of Dubai Summer Surprises will bring more visitors to the city throughout the season. Issam Kazim, CEO of the Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DCTCM), part of DET, said that the aim remains to make Dubai the world's best city to visit. He said: 'Building on yet another record-breaking performance in 2024, the exceptional results achieved by the industry so far in 2025 is a testament to the resilience and steadfast support of our stakeholders and partners. 'From hospitality and aviation to retail and gastronomy, every sector has played a critical role in solidifying Dubai's position as a global tourism leader. This many people used Dubai public transport over Eid Al Adha
A public holiday in Dubai is always full of fun things to do, celebrations and special occasions that are some of the best in the world. And it's not just us that thinks so. In fact, 7.58 million people agreed, and all used public transport to get to their celebrations and over the long weekend. If you like this: UAE public holidays 2025: All the days off this year revealed According to figures released by the Road Transport Authority (RTA), a staggering 7,577,000 people used either public transport or taxis between Thursday June 5 to Sunday June 8. It seems more people than ever are making the most of all the incredible things the city has to see and do, as there was a 14 percent increase in the numbers since 2024. To really show you how many people were out hopping in Halas or swiping their Nol cards during Eid Al Adha, it's worth noting that on New Year's Eve 2024, the total number of passengers was 2.5 million. (Credit: Dubai Taxi Company) The number of metro passengers on both the red and green lines during the holiday reached 2,786,000, while the number of tram passengers reached 119,917. Out on the roads, public bus passengers reached 1,663,000, taxis carried 2,196,000, and shared transportation vehicles carried 504,159 passengers. Even marine transport was buzzing throughout the long weekend, with 307,684 people hopping on water taxis or abras. With such demand for public transport, it's no surprise that the latest metro line project is now well underway. Split into two routes, one spanning 21km and the other across 9km, the Blue Line will connect the north-east of the city with the existing Dubai Metro line and make it much easier and quicker to get around. It is scheduled to be completed by 2029, to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the Dubai Metro, and will eventually reach around one million people.
