I'm a shopping editor and I tried this $77 Amazon dress — it's both 'comfy' and compliment-worthy
Recently, I was searching for the perfect summer dress for an upcoming event and having no luck with my go-to retailers. I started to feel defeated so decided to check out Amazon for a last-minute option. I wasn't hoping for much, but thought Prime delivery would ensure it got to me in time, and maybe I would stumble upon something flattering that will get me by.
Luckily, I ended up hitting the jackpot. The PRETTYGARDEN Women's Eyelet Maxi Dress totally exceeded my expectations in terms of quality and cuteness. It immediately reminded me of the bestselling Somerset Dress from Anthropologie — but at a more affordable cost.
This stunning dress is perfect for summer.
I snagged it in this bright blue shade, which screams summer, and it scored me tons of compliments at said event. When I told people it was from Amazon Canada, they were visibly impressed. While $77 can be considered pricey for the retailer, in my review below I'll touch on why I think it's worth the price — as well as some areas that could use improvement.
However, while we're on the topic of price tags, the shorter — and equally gorgeous — version of this dress is currently on sale for $50 ahead of Prime Day 2025. I'm tempted to add a couple of colours to my cart for summer.
Let's dive into all the details of this frock, why I think it's great, as well as what I didn't like.
Right off the bat, this dress is effortlessly stylish and comfortable. It's made from soft, lightweight fabric and features a flattering A-line shape, chic V-neckline and dainty eyelet details that add a feminine touch.
The short sleeves and ruffled hem make it look elevated (and quite frankly, more expensive than it actually is). Plus, the flowy silhouette is flattering for all body types, making it a go-to for everything from special occasions to casual brunch.
It's available in sizes S–XXL and in various vibrant and neutral colours. You can pair it with your favourite sandals, flats or heels to complement virtually any look you're going for.
The airy eyelet material feels very comfy for all-day wear
Its flowy A-line silhouette is flattering and makes me feel confident
The V-neckline allows me to dress it up with necklaces
It's versatile — great for travel, events or casual days
Very stretchy and not constricting
Super easy to take on and off (no buttons, zippers or anything to fuss with)
It's on the pricier side for Amazon (however, still worth it, in my opinion)
I spotted some threads that had to be cut off
It's on the bigger side, so next time I'd size down
The liner underneath isn't as long as the dress itself (just a personal pet peeve)
No pockets!
👗 "Truly a great find."

Don't just take my word for it — let's see what other reviewers have to say about this dress. Do they love it as much as I do? Someone who is "very self-conscious" about their postpartum body said they're "in love with this dress." "This dress made me feel better," they stated.
Another person called it a "fun, cheerful dress" that you can wear to "a range of occasions." A third reviewer echoed this sentiment, calling it a "beautiful dress."
"This dress is so incredibly flattering," said one customer. They continued, "If it were $20 cheaper I would probably buy another colour."
"Minimizes my stomach, defines my waist," wrote one person. However, they said, "If I could change one thing, it would be to lengthen the arms a tad."
"The only 'eek' was the price… just a tad too rich for my blood but in the end, it was worth it!" shared another.
If you've been struggling to find the perfect versatile dress for many different occasions, this PRETTYGARDEN Women's Eyelet Maxi Dress might be just what you're looking for. As a shopping editor, I come across (and try on) a lot of pieces, and I can honestly say the quality on this one passes the test. After wearing it to an all-day event, I can confirm it's comfortable, lightweight and very flattering.
However, is it worth $77? I'm going to say yes, while simultaneously agreeing it's kind of pricey for Amazon. But hey, when you find something good, sometimes you've gotta splurge. Not interested in paying more than $50? Then I suggest starting with the mini dress version.
Snag the shorter version of my editor-approved maxi dress on sale for $50.

Jeff Bezos Reportedly Spoils New Wife Lauren Sanchez With Multi-Million Dollar Jewelry As Wedding Gift
As Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez celebrate their long-awaited wedding in Venice, new reports have emerged claiming that the Amazon founder gifted his bride a multimillion-dollar piece of jewelry to mark the occasion. The jewelry is said to feature a diamond necklace with a large center stone, accompanied by matching earrings to complement the set. This comes amid reports that Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez have actually been "secretly married" for over a month, with an ironclad prenuptial agreement in place. Tying the knot with billionaire Jeff Bezos was always going to be a grand affair, and now, insiders say Lauren Sánchez has been spoiled with a jaw-dropping gift fit for a queen. The gift is said to be a diamond necklace from a high-profile jeweler valued at a whopping $3 million to $5 million. "It's a diamond necklace that circles her neck with a large center stone and matching earrings," a source told Page Six. While pictures of the gift have yet to be seen, guests at the wedding may get a first glimpse of it, as the insider claimed that Sánchez will wear the "dazzling new gems" for the ceremony. "You won't be able to miss this elegant diamond necklace as it's almost as massive as Jeff's superyacht," the source added about the expensive piece. "Lauren is thrilled with her blinding new necklace and earrings that take her already impressive collection up several notches." Should Sánchez choose not to wear the new piece during her wedding festivities, she is expected to wear several others, whose total cost is said to be worth four to six times more. "It's said Lauren will wear a long list of precious jewels throughout the festivities that could easily be worth up to $20 or $30-plus million." This may include her $2.5 million ring, which the tech mogul gave her in 2023 when he popped the question. "I'm also told Lauren has her jewels and looks photographed days before she goes out in public so she knows what the photos will look like, and can change them if she's not absolutely thrilled with the way everything looks," the insider also said about Sanchez's jewelry. Previously, a Florida-based attorney claimed that Bezos and Sanchez had already tied the knot in the U.S. "Often, a marriage in foreign country is not valid in the USA, or creates other issues, so yes, it is likely they are already married," said the source, hinting at the reason behind the decision, per Page Six. Seemingly supporting the claim, an Italian official also revealed that Bezos and Sanchez did not file any documents to conduct a civil ceremony in Venice. If the couple's marriage is to be recognized as legal in Venice, they are required under Italian law to file these documents, including a "Dichiarazione Giurata" and an "Atto Notorio." "I can totally rule out that they will have a civil ceremony in Venice under Italian law," the official confirmed to The Times of London. A separate source confirmed the rumor of a secret wedding to the Daily Mail, telling the news outlet that Bezos and Sanchez have been married for over a month now. "They have been married for at least a month, more than a month. The marriage is fully legal and took place in America under American law," the source said. They continued, "When they were planning the wedding, they were clear about the fact that they were already secretly married." "There is no application for a wedding licence from the couple because it was not required," the source added. "Whatever happens at the wedding on Friday, it will not be a wedding. Under Italian law, it will not be a wedding celebration; any vows said or rings exchanged will have no legal meaning." Another rumor that has circulated is that Bezos and Sanchez have already signed a prenuptial agreement to secure the billionaire's $226.7 billion fortune. Although the details of its contents remain under wraps, sources say it will be enforceable despite the couple having their big wedding overseas. "They can get married anywhere as their prenup would generally be drafted to include its enforceability everywhere," a source said.

Kaviani Sisters Built Naked Wardrobe Into Global Celeb Fashion Empire
Kaviani Sisters Built Naked Wardrobe Into A Global Celebrity Empire In a world where the fashion industry remains heavily male-dominated, three Iranian-American sisters have carved out their own fashion empire from their parents' living room and called it Naked Wardrobe. Shirin, Shida, and Shideh Kaviani didn't just build a brand, but a movement that celebrates female empowerment, body confidence, and the unbreakable bond of sisterhood. Today, Naked Wardrobe graces the bodies of A-list celebrities like the Kardashians, Jennifer Lopez, and Carmen Electra, but the path to this glittering success was paved with failure, resilience, and an unwavering belief in their vision. The First Fall And Rise Of Naked Wardrobe Fifteen years ago, long before e-commerce became the norm, the Kaviani sisters had an idea before Naked Wardrobe took off. "Our first stab at fashion was 15 years ago, but we failed. We couldn't get our website off the ground and we had an excess of inventory as a result," recalls Shideh, the youngest sister who studied at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) and now serves as President. But failure didn't defeat them. Instead of giving up, they transformed their setback into an intimate shopping experience. They hung their inventory on racks in their parents' living room, baked fresh cookies, and invited their entire community in California to shop. It was guerrilla retail at its finest, born from necessity and sisterly determination. "We all took a step back because we were so disappointed and thought about venturing into our own lanes and respective careers," Shideh explains. But sometimes the universe has other plans. When one sister was laid off, it became the catalyst they needed to reunite their dreams. The $7,500 Gamble That Changed Naked Wardrobe Armed with just $7,500 and the hard-earned wisdom from their previous failure, the sisters decided to try again. This time, they were different: more organized, more focused, and crystal clear about their vision. "We learned from our first failures and we knew what we wanted," Shideh notes. The brand name itself tells a story of identity and intention. Initially considering "Kaviani LA" to honor their heritage, they ultimately chose something more profound. "We landed with Naked Wardrobe, because we want people to be comfortable in their own skin and we want our clothes to reflect that and to be the best version of yourself. The word naked seems so raw uncensored and minimalist," Shideh explains. As female entrepreneurs in fashion, the sisters were acutely aware of the gender imbalance in their industry. "The fashion industry was highly dominated by men. Over the years, we continued to utilize our platform and use our voices to shed light on this and encourage more women to chase their boldest dreams," Shirin reflects. How Naked Wardrobe Prioritizes Real Women What sets Naked Wardrobe apart isn't just their business acumen, but also their deep understanding of women's bodies and needs. Despite being sisters, Shirin, Shida, and Shideh each have different body shapes and types, which became their greatest asset in design. "It all became so natural and celebrating our bodies and the simplicity of the garment and making you feel this level of confidence that you didn't even know you had," says Shida. They revolutionized categories like bodysuits and jumpsuits, taking pieces from athletic wear and transforming them into ready-to-wear essentials. Their parents' emphasis on quality over quantity became their guiding principle, leading them to develop their own textiles and build a dedicated team. The signature bodysuit is a must-have in every woman's wardrobe. "For us it was as simple as us going the extra mile. As women what we wear dictates our move. For us it's how do we help our clients go down that journey. We want to be a lifestyle brand and be there for every moment," Shida adds. Naked Wardrobe Is Equipped To Change With Trends Since launching in 2012, the sisters have been trendsetters rather than followers. "We are in a monochromatic phase right now," notes Shirin, the eldest sister. "Colors like red rose tops and rose skirts are great for layering and bring the customer back to core pieces which they can build into a capsule wardrobe." Their intuition for trends has paid off—they're tracking 50% growth for the year, a testament to their ability to evolve with their customers' needs. While they initially operated in the fast fashion space, the sisters recognized the environmental and social costs of overproduction. "As a direct to consumer brand, we really value the quality and fit of our products. For us, getting an order is not enough but more important how to retain that client," Shideh emphasizes. The brand has expanded its offerings to outwear like this faux mink pelted jacket. Naked Wardrobe Proves Sisterhood Is An Asset Working with family could be a recipe for disaster, but the Kaviani sisters have turned it into their superpower. Each sister brings unique expertise: one handles product development and marketing, another manages human resources and brand sales, while the third oversees operations, tech, and design. Even their mother joined the team, officially becoming CFO four years ago. "We are a family business where each of us wears different hats and different expertises," they explain. Their parents instilled a foundation of equality that eliminated sibling rivalry and created a healthy professional dynamic. " Disagreements are normal, but because we have different skillsets, we lean on each other and the beauty of being family is having overlapping, yet different knowledge to elevate our brand," concludes Shida. On Global Expansion And Naked Wardrobe's Future Success hasn't made them complacent. Naked Wardrobe is strategically expanding its global footprint throughout Europe and the Middle East, with plans to launch in Flannels department stores across the United Kingdom in Q2 and expand throughout Canada. 'We have been deliberate in how we would like to scale Naked Wardrobe internationally. Expanding into international markets will allow our overseas clients to experience, feel, and try on our garments firsthand. This move will not only diversify our revenue model but also introduce Naked Wardrobe to a broader global audience, strengthening our brand presence worldwide,' they add. With customer service being their ultimate objective, the sisters strive to employ a hands-on approach to their business which celebrates femininity, confidence, and empowering women to feel confident in their own skin. Made for the modern woman who loves contemporary fashion that makes her feel confident, Naked ... More Wardrobe also includes a wide range of sizes.
