SIT beings probe into sexual harassment case against RDVV VC
Jabalpur: An SIT constituted on the directions of the high court to investigate the sexual harassment at workplace complaint made by a female officer against Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya (RDVV) vice-chancellor has started its probe.
The SIT includes senior officials such as IG Irshad Wali, DIG Monika Shukla, and SP GRP Jabalpur, Shimala Prasad. Sources said the SIT started its probe a few days ago, and statements of the people connected to the case are being recorded.
Earlier, taking serious note of the complaints of negligence in the ongoing investigation into the complaint, the court ordered the formation of a three-member committee of IPS officers to investigate the matter.
Justice Vishal Mishra ordered that the committee be chaired by an IG-rank officer and include a female officer of SP rank.
Notably, the female officer posted at the university filed a complaint of workplace sexual harassment against Vice-Chancellor Rajesh Kumar Verma. Due to inaction on the complaint, the aggrieved female officer approached the HC.
The petition stated that on Nov 21, 2024, during a meeting, the vice-chancellor made indecent gestures in his office.

He made inappropriate comments and gestures in front of everyone.
She requested the CCTV footage from the vice-chancellor's office on the day of the incident under the Right to Information Act, but it was not provided.
During the hearing, the govt informed the HC single bench that a six-member committee was formed for the investigation, and the CCTV footage from the day of the incident was preserved. However, during the hearing, it was revealed to the bench that the university administration did not present the CCTV footage from the day of the incident to the investigation committee.
The university administration informed the committee that the footage could not be downloaded due to a malfunction in the CCTV.
The single bench ordered the district collector to have the cameras at the university examined by forensic and technical experts. Upon reviewing the report submitted by the district collector, the single bench found no mention of whether the CCTV camera in the vice-chancellor's room was operational on the day of the incident.
The single bench instructed the committee to present an affidavit examining the seized documents, witness statements, and other elements related to the investigation.
The district collector expressed dissatisfaction with the investigation in the submitted affidavit. The single bench found that the investigation committee showed no interest in gathering evidence during the inquiry. Despite a serious complaint of workplace sexual harassment by a female employee, the respondent officers acted arbitrarily without conducting a proper investigation.
The petitioner's lawyer argued that the accused is an influential person with high political connections. The court gave the officers an opportunity to conduct a proper investigation, but the submitted report was unsatisfactory.

WWE faces backlash after reportedly blocking R-Truth tributes on RAW
Image via WWE The WWE Universe is up in arms after reports emerged that the company allegedly blocked talent from wearing R-Truth merchandise during the June 2 episode of Monday Night RAW. The decision, which coincided with news of R-Truth's WWE exit, sparked backlash both backstage and online. According to WrestleVotes, WWE management gave specific instructions to talent not to wear R-Truth shirts on air, a break from long-standing locker room tradition. In the past, performers have honored injured or departing colleagues with subtle tributes, including wearing their merchandise. But this time, the directive was different. Interestingly, Dominik Mysterio wore a Carlito shirt during the same episode - raising eyebrows about the inconsistency. Popular merchandise pulled without warning Adding to the growing unease, WWE reportedly removed R-Truth's 'Ron Cena' t-shirt from its online store. Once a top seller thanks to R-Truth's popular parody character, the shirt's sudden disappearance fueled fan speculation. The lack of an official explanation only intensified criticism. On social media, fans and wrestling commentators didn't hold back. Comments ranged from calling the move 'a disgrace' to likening WWE's current environment to 'the dark Vince McMahon era.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch CFD với công nghệ và tốc độ tốt hơn IC Markets Đăng ký Undo One post even suggested WWE was acting like 'a dictatorship.' R-Truth, real name Ron Killings, has been a staple in WWE for more than two decades. Known for his comedic flair, unpredictable promos, and crowd-friendly antics, he struck a rare balance between humor and heart. His antics with the 24/7 Championship and 'Ron Cena' persona made him one of the most entertaining acts on WWE television. Beyond the laughs, Truth was widely respected behind the scenes. His positivity, professionalism, and ability to connect with fans of all ages earned him admiration from peers and fans alike. No official word from WWE As of now, WWE has not issued any public statement on R-Truth's reported release or the alleged apparel restrictions. This silence has only deepened the frustration among fans, many of whom believe the company mishandled the situation. With R-Truth's contract reportedly set to expire by mid-2025, there is speculation that this exit could be part of broader roster changes or creative restructuring behind the scenes. Their loud chants of 'We Want Truth' during RAW and even at the following night's NXT tapings are a powerful reminder of his enduring popularity. For many, he isn't just a comic relief act — he's a symbol of joy and authenticity in a product often criticized for feeling overly scripted or corporate. In an era where WWE is undergoing significant transformation under the TKO Group banner, moments like these show that fan sentiment still holds weight. R-Truth's legacy, built on heart, humor, and connection, is proving difficult to silence - even without the merchandise. Whether WWE decides to respond or stay silent, the reaction to R-Truth's exit shows that fans will continue to fight for the performers they believe in.
