Beyond the Pale to go ahead but 'very nearly stumbled'
The organisers of Beyond the Pale have said the festival will go ahead next weekend but admitted they "very nearly stumbled" yesterday.
In a statement issued late last night, organisers said the fate of the festival is secure for this year and for years to come.
"Today we very nearly stumbled, ngl.
"But the festival gods smiled upon us, and the fate of Beyond the Pale is secure for 2025, and for many years to come."
Yesterday, it was reported that some booking agents had received a call on Friday night telling them that the festival could not go ahead.
The festival, which is set to be headlined by Jon Hopkins, Róisín Murphy, and TV on the Radio, is run by promoter Declan Forde from Cupola Events Ltd.
It is due to take place at Glendalough Estate in Co Wicklow.
It is understood Mr Forde spent yesterday trying to ensure the festival could go ahead as planned.
More than 12,500 people, as well as 1,000 staff and artists are due to attend, with many due to camp at the festival.
In the statement, festival organisers said it is "unbelievably tough out there for independent festivals, venues, promoters, artists".
They thanked the public for their support and for bearing with them yesterday.
"See you at Gelndalough next week," the statement read, concluding, "PS The forecast is hot and sunny".

Beyond the Pale festival confirms it WILL go ahead after behind-the-scenes chaos
The organisers of Beyond the Pale have confirmed the three-day music and arts festival will go ahead next weekend – but admitted it came dangerously close to being cancelled. DJ Dave Clarke, set to travel from Amsterdam to perform, told RTÉ on Sunday: 'It's very confusing. I've seen the reports, but the information changes all the time. Beyond the Pale festival now going ahead next weekend after ‘nearly stumbling'
It follows confusion over the weekend about the future of three-day music, art and food festival, due to take place in Glendalough, Co Wicklow, after concerns were raised about its finances. The Currency website reported that the festival's organiser Declan Forde had informed stakeholders it was cancelled due to the decision to immediately liquidate the company behind the festival which had planned to host 12,000 people between June 13 and 15. In a statement issued late last night, organisers said: 'Look, it's unbelievably tough out there for independent festivals, venues, promoters, all know that. Today we very nearly stumbled. This year's line-up is due to feature Jon Hopkins, Róisín Murphy, TV on the Radio, Boney M, Jeff Mills and Samantha Mumba. Tickets for the festival remained on sale over the weekend with a three-day camping ticket costing €269. Company records show the annual accounts for Cupola Events Ltd, the company behind the festival, have been overdue since December 2023. The Beyond the Pale festival first launched in 2022 with under 5,000 attendees. It had increased its number of attendees to 10,000 at last year's festival. It won the Best Small Festival award at last year's Irish Music Rights Organisation (IMRO) awards. DJ Dave Clarke, who is due to fly from Amsterdam for the event, told RTÉ earlier yesterday that he still hoped he could play at the festival.
