'More Serious Than Football': Klopp Sends Payers After Trophy Parade Horror

Liverpool fans were celebrating their PL victory parade before a 53-year-old man, in a car, ploughed through the crowd of pedestrians, leaving multiple injured.
Former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp sent his wishes and prayers to those affected by the horrendous incident during the club's Premier League title parade on Monday, as a car rammed into dozens of Reds fans on Water Street in Merseyside.
Liverpool, who clinched their 20th top-flight crown in the recently concluded season, were revelling in their victory before a 53-year-old man from the Liverpool area ploughed through the crowd of pedestrians, leaving multiple injured.
Emergency services reacted quickly to help those hit and pinned under the car in an unprecedented incident during a trophy parade, as the police apprehended the perpetrator while the angry mob looked to confront the driver.
Klopp, who has always maintained that there is more to life than just football, took stock of the situation and reiterated his beliefs.
'The mood was incredible and from one second to the other, everything changed because we then learned again there are more serious things in the world than football," the German said during the League Managers' Association ceremony.

'Thoughts and prayers go definitely to the, as far as I know right now, to the injured people, but to the families, of course, as well," Klopp, the man who brought a three-decade wait for a PL title at Liverpool to an end in the 2020 season, added.
Klopp's men clinched the PL title during the times of the COVID-19 pandemic and couldn't celebrate the victory with the fans due to lockdown restrictions.
'It should have been one of the greatest days in the history of the city, after a long, long time, because we didn't have the opportunity to do that the last time," the 57-year-old said.

Current Liverpool gaffer Arne Slot led the Scouse unit to the English league title in his debut season, ensuring a celebration alongisde fans at the Anfield followed by the trophy parade around the city. The Dutchman stressed on the sense of camaraderie at a turbulent time such as the one following the dreadful incident.
'Football is and always should be a game built on rivalry, but it is also a great source of comradeship, especially at times like this," Slot said.
'I would also like to pay tribute to the emergency services and other authorities in Liverpool who swung into action as soon as the incident happened," the 46-year-old added.
'Along with the supporters and bystanders who helped one another in an hour of need, I think everyone involved in the aftermath deserves the gratitude of all of us," the Liverpool mister concluded.

Frances Tiafoe believes the "sky's the limit" for him after reaching the French Open quarter-finals for the first time on Sunday. "If you look at the guys in front of me, I'm much more comfortable playing the guys around me and ahead of me than the other guys," said Tiafoe, who is yet to drop a set in the tournament. "I'm much more reliable, and week to week -- I don't lose to those guys week to week. I lose to everybody else. "That's not really my concern, playing the best guys in the world. I don't fear them. Inter Milan defender Bisseck to miss Germany games after getting injured in Champions League final
MUNICH — Inter Milan defender Yann Aurel Bisseck will miss Germany's upcoming Nations League games after getting injured in the team's Champions League final loss to Paris Saint-Germain. Bisseck only made a short appearance in Saturday's final, going on as a substitute in the 54th minute, then off again in the 62nd with an apparent right leg injury.
