Gwyneth Paltrow breaks silence on Meghan Markle amid claims she imitated GOOP

Express Tribune19-03-2025

Gwyneth Paltrow is setting the record straight on several topics in her latest Vanity Fair cover interview. The 52-year-old Oscar winner discussed her Montecito neighbor Meghan Markle, the evolution of her GOOP brand, and reflections on her relationships with Brad Pitt and Chris Martin.
When asked about Markle—who has been accused of modeling her lifestyle brand after GOOP—Paltrow remained diplomatic. 'I don't know Meghan and Harry… I mean, I've met Meghan, who seems really lovely, but I don't know her at all,' she said. 'I was raised to see other women as friends, not foes… I think there's always more than enough to go around. Everybody deserves an attempt at everything that they want to try.'
The actress-turned-businesswoman also touched on her relationship with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, emphasizing that they remain close despite their divorce. 'It's not quite brother, but we are complete family… He is there for me through anything, and vice versa,' she shared.
Reflecting on her high-profile romance with Brad Pitt, Paltrow likened dating the Hollywood star to being linked to royalty. 'He's a very intriguing character… It's like having dated, I don't know, Prince William or something. That's always going to come up.'
Addressing speculation about GOOP's future after layoffs last year, she dismissed concerns about financial struggles. 'Maybe I would care if it was true that we're doing it because business wasn't good, but I'm very clear. We are not doing this because the business is faltering,' she explained. 'We're doing this because I need to optimize EBITDA… My business is a good business and it's a strong business and the brand is strong… Case in point, we're still here. We just had our best year.'
Paltrow also weighed in on the lasting impact of the #MeToo movement, stating that while Hollywood still has issues, certain predatory behaviors have changed. 'I think so… there are no meetings set up in hotel rooms [anymore], from what I understand, or if there are, it's multiple people in the room. That bubble has definitely burst… I'm sure people still abuse power in Hollywood because they do everywhere, but it has definitely changed.'
With her signature candor, Paltrow reflected on her role in paving the way for others. '[It] might just be that my role is to pave the way… By some instinct or curiosity or desire, I go somewhere and I hack through the path and I get the scratches of hacking through, but I make space for other people, then, to do it. [T]hat's the point of my life, maybe?'

Jared Leto denies allegations after getting accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women

Jared Leto has denied multiple allegations of sexual misconduct following a detailed report published by Air Mail on June 7. The report includes accounts from several women, with four alleging they were underage when they first interacted with the Oscar-winning actor and musician. Two women, DJ Allie Teilz and Laura La Rue, went on the record. Teilz stated in a resurfaced 2012 Facebook post, 'You're not really in L.A. until Jared Leto tries to force himself on you backstage… In a kilt.. And a snow hat.' She added on Instagram, 'I was assaulted and traumatised by this creep when I was 17. He knew my age and didn't care.' Leto's representative responded, 'Ms. Teilz's allegations are demonstrably false.' Laura La Rue alleged she met Leto at an animal rights benefit in 2008, told him she was 16, and later visited him at his studio. She claimed he once appeared completely naked. Leto's rep responded, 'Their communications contain nothing sexual or inappropriate,' and noted La Rue had allegedly applied to be his personal assistant—an assertion she denies. Additional claims include one woman who said Leto began calling her repeatedly after they met at a Los Angeles café when she was 16. She alleged the calls became sexual. Another actress claimed that, after turning 18, Leto exposed himself and initiated unwanted sexual contact. Leto's rep issued a blanket statement to Air Mail: 'All of the allegations are expressly denied.' The 30 Seconds to Mars frontman has not made a personal public comment as of this publication.

Chris Martin gives shoutout to Dakota Johnson at Coldplay concert amid breakup rumours

Chris Martin has left fans speculating about the status of his relationship with Dakota Johnson after a brief but notable moment during a recent Coldplay concert in Las Vegas, Deuxmoi reports. The singer gave a public mention to Johnson's new film Materialists, just days after reports claimed the couple had ended their nearly eight-year on-and-off relationship. In a video that has since gone viral on social media, Martin addresses the audience with: 'Big love to everyone. Don't forget to see Materialists. We love you.' The clip, originally shared by gossip platform Deuxmoi, reignited discussions about whether the pair has truly split or may be quietly reconciling. The shoutout divided fans, with some arguing that the gesture could simply be respectful support. Neither Martin nor Johnson has officially commented on the current status of their relationship. During a recent appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers, Johnson avoided addressing the rumours. In a past interview, Johnson described watching Martin perform as 'emotional and beautiful,' a sentiment that continues to resonate with fans tracking their journey.

Van Hunt's proposal to Halle Berry 'still floating', while she defends 'spinning' Mother's Day post

Halle Berry opens up about her relationship with Van Hunt, her thoughts on marriage, and reactions to a controversial Mother's Day post Halle Berry recently discussed her relationship with boyfriend Van Hunt, the couple's views on marriage, and the controversy surrounding her Mother's Day post in an appearance on Today with Jenna & Friends. In the candid interview, the Oscar-winning actress revealed that while her relationship with Hunt is thriving, she is taking her time with marriage, despite Hunt's proposal. Berry and Hunt, who have been together since 2020, shared a playful moment when Hunt revealed that he had already proposed to Berry. "I put out the proposal, and it's still on hold," Hunt joked, adding that the proposal was "floating out there" while they wait for Berry's decision. The 58-year-old actress responded with a laugh, explaining that marriage isn't a necessity for them to validate their love. She emphasized that both she and Hunt had been married before, and after multiple marriages, they are in no rush. 'We don't feel like we have to get married to validate our love in any way,' Berry said, adding that when they do marry, it will be because they genuinely want to, not out of obligation. Regarding when they might tie the knot, Berry assured fans, 'I think we will get married just because, out of the people I've been married to, this is the person I should have married.' She hinted that it would happen 'soon,' but reiterated that their bond does not need a wedding certificate to be strong. Berry also addressed the backlash she received following her sultry Mother's Day post, in which she promoted her Let's Spin intimacy gel alongside Hunt. The video, caused a stir with some commenters questioning why Berry wasn't spending the day with her children. 'It's not 'Kid's Day,'' she responded, emphasizing that she had every right to enjoy her day how she saw fit. Berry, who has two children from previous relationships, said she believes it's important for mothers to take time for themselves and have their own celebrations. Though critics were vocal about the post, Berry remained firm in her stance, saying, 'If I want to be in bed and spin with my man, then that's what I'm going to do.' While Berry's relationship with Hunt is a key part of her life, she has consistently emphasized that her children and family are her top priorities. However, she also revealed how fulfilled she feels in her current romantic relationship, saying that it makes her a better mother. 'I feel happy in my life romantically, as a mother, as an artist,' Berry reflected. 'I'm a much better mother in this circumstance than I would have been had I stayed in a romantic relationship that didn't serve me.' As for her thoughts on marriage, it seems only a matter of time before the couple takes the next step, but on their terms, and in their own time.
