PM Modi chairs NDA CMs conclave; Operation Sindoor, caste census get unanimous backing
NEW DELHI: Over 20 Chief Ministers and 18 Deputy Chief Ministers from various states gathered in New Delhi on Sunday for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Chief Ministers' conclave, held under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The meeting concluded with the adoption of two key resolutions, one lauding the armed forces for Operation Sindoor and another supporting the caste census initiative.
Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan said that two resolutions were passed in the NDA Chief Minister's Conclave on Sunday."Two resolutions were passed in the meeting, first on the success of Operation Sindoor and second on the caste census," Pawan Kalyan told the media after he left the meeting.
After the NDA CMs and Dy CMs meeting, Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde also spoke to the reporters and said, "Two resolutions were passed, first on Operation Sindoor and second on caste census. Everyone thanked and congratulated our armed forces and Prime Minister Modi for the success of Operation Sindoor. Many administrative reforms have been brought in Maharashtra, and Prime Minister Modi also appreciated it."
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya also spoke to ANI about the meeting and said, "PM Narendra Modi and the armed forces were congratulated for Operation Sindoor. We also discussed the caste census, which is a part of the BJP's Constitution."

BJP at Shaheen Bagh: Muslim girls should aim for the Army
In a move aimed at expanding its outreach into the Muslim-dominated areas of the national capital, the BJP's Minority Morcha held a 'minority chaupal' in Shaheen Bagh on Tuesday. The main purpose of this chaupal was to encourage young Muslim girls to consider careers in the Indian Army, it said. Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, an Indian Army officer who garnered attention during Operation Sindoor, was repeatedly cited as a role model throughout the event. This was the BJP's first such chaupal in the Capital under a broader national campaign celebrating the first-year anniversary of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government's third term in office. The event was held in a modest hotel room in the heart of the neighbourhood that rose to national prominence during the 2020 anti-CAA protests. 'Our daughter should become strong, she should be educated, she should be independent…,' said Jamal Siddiqui, National President of the BJP Minority Morcha and chief guest at the event. 'If anyone tries to harass, scare, or intimidate her, she should be able to give a befitting reply. We have to take our daughters out of their homes and into society. They should also go to the border… and show the strength of Indian women.' 'To teach Pakistan a lesson, the leadership of (explaining) air strikes on terrorist bases was handed over to two daughters, Colonel Sophia and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, and the world has been introduced to the courage, valour and bravery of Indian women,' he added. The chaupal featured a small but engaged gathering of two women and 20 party workers, and sought to familiarise attendees with the Agniveer recruitment scheme and other opportunities in the Armed Forces. Organisers also distributed copies of the Constitution and announced a one-stop camp for registrations under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana. 'This is not just about Army recruitment,' said Ashu Chaudhary, Delhi State Executive Member of the Minority Morcha and the event's coordinator. 'It's about rights, awareness, and helping women from our community imagine a future where they are leaders.' Attendees were also handed 'data books' — kits detailing key government schemes across sectors such as education, employment, and health — with instructions to imitate similar minority chaupals in their localities and to share the data with other members of the Muslim community. The BJP's choice of Shaheen Bagh for the pilot chaupal carries political weight. Once the epicentre of the months-long protests, led largely by Muslim women against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, the neighbourhood had become a symbol of resistance — and now, as the BJP frames it, potential transformation. 'We all are sons of India. We all are citizens of India. These 11 years of the Modi government have brought light where there was darkness,' Siddiqui declared. Launching a scathing attack against the BJP's political rivals, he added, 'The Congress and AAP created that darkness. Now, it is our duty to spread awareness, take the government's message and schemes to the people.'

Advising the Congress to 'inform the public truthfully' about functioning of the government, Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday said the Opposition Congress' sole objective is to level baseless allegations. Addressing a press conference in Panchkula to mark completion of 11 years of the Union government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Haryana chief minister said that contrary to Congress' 'baseless allegations regarding development schemes' the truth is that even opposition leaders themselves are benefiting from these schemes and they just avoid mentioning it. 'The Opposition should inform the public truthfully about what the government is doing,' Saini said, who was flanked by a battery of Cabinet ministers during the press conference that continued for nearly two hours. 'However, they are opposing even public welfare measures like road construction, free LPG cylinders, increased minimum support prices (MSP), and compensation to farmers. May Congress get the wisdom to understand the historic changes of the past 11 years under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.' Saini said while the Central government has ensured 33% reservation for women in Parliament and state assemblies, the Haryana government has gone a step further by providing 50% representation to women in panchayats and urban local bodies, giving a new dimension to women empowerment. Responding to a question about Common Eligibility Test (CET), Saini said that the date of the written exam will be announced soon. He said Prime Minister Modi steered the nation from a time of indecision and inefficiency to an era of dynamic governance, national pride, and global recognition. He described the last 11 years as the most transformative phase of independent India, where each citizen has felt the presence of a decisive, sensitive, and effective government. 'Today's India is led by vision, not vote-bank politics,' said Saini, adding that previous Congress-led governments were often marked by hesitation, weak decision-making and misplaced priorities.

Union minister highlights decrease in poverty rates

He was speaking at a press conference in Vijayawada on Tuesday. Reddy stated that India's economy became the world's fourth-largest, surpassing Japan, growing from a 2.1 trillion dollar economy in 2014 (10th position) to four trillion dollar, as confirmed by the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Govt aims to achieve a five trillion dollar economy soon. Furthermore, approximately 25 crore people were lifted out of poverty in the last nine years, with poverty rates decreasing from 29.2% in 2013-14 to 11.3% in 2022-23. Per capita income also saw a substantial 67% increase, rising from 68,572 in 2013-14 to 1,14,710 in 2024-25. The minister highlighted the successful implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) with the consensus of all states and the increase in states' share of tax revenue from 32% to 41-42%.
