Man Utd consider move for Chelsea transfer target with £85m release clause
Manchester United and two other Premier League clubs are interested in beating Chelsea to a summer deal for West Ham attacker Mohammed Kudus.
Chelsea were offered the chance to sign Kudus but failed with an initial bid for the Ghana international which included cash and one of Robert Sanchez or Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
Enzo Maresca wants to welcome a versatile forward to Stamford Bridge this summer and remains interested in a deal for Kudus, who is keen to move.
Kudus enjoyed an impressive first season at the London Stadium following a £38m move from Ajax in 2023 but was less influential last season, scoring just five goals in 35 games in all competitions.
West Ham boss Graham Potter is believed to be open to selling Kudus, whose Hammers contract includes an £85m release clause.

The Guardian say Chelsea have held further talks with the east London club but are currently prioritising a deal for Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens.
That has left Kudus to explore other options and it is claimed Manchester United have identified the 24-year-old as a possible target as Ruben Amorim looks to strengthen his attacking options.
But United are not alone in expressing interest in Kudus, with Newcastle United nd one other unnamed Premier League club also keen on a deal.
Kudus has also been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia but his release clause for clubs in the Saudi Pro League sits at £215m, according to reports.
Chelsea are targeting a new winger after deciding to pay a £5m penalty to send Jadon Sancho back to Manchester United.

Sancho was keen to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge but contracts talks broke down, leaving the England international facing an uncertain future.
Gittens is Chelsea's top target to replace Sancho but have also shown interest in Brighton's Joao Pedro and Lyon's Malick Fofana.
Chelsea are not expected to sign another striker following Liam Delap's £30m move from Ipswich Town but will bring in a new winger and Gittens is the most likely candidate at this stage. More Trending
Joao Félix, Christopher Nkunku and Mykhailo Mudryk are all free to leave and Chelsea are even open to offers for Noni Madueke, who they signed for £30m.
Manchester United's interest in Kudus comes as Amorim prepares to sanction the departures of Sancho, Marcus Rashford and Antony.
Serie A champions Napoli are the frontrunners to sign Sancho, who cost United £73, while Rashford is dreaming of a summer move to Barcelona.
Antony, meanwhile, is open to a return to Real Betis – where he spent the second-half of last season – but would need to take a significant pay cut.

Juventus extend Adidas partnership to 2037 in $468 million deal
ROME, June 19 (Reuters) - Juventus ( opens new tab have extended their technical partnership with German sportswear giant Adidas ( opens new tab until June 2037, in a deal worth 408 million euros ($468 million) over a decade, the Serie A club said in a statement. The current agreement between the two parties, which runs until June 2027, will remain unchanged, the Italian club said. The new contract will then take effect from the 2027-2028 season and cover all Juventus teams until the end of the 2036-2037 season. "This renewal fills us with pride and testifies to the synergy between these two great companies," said Maurizio Scanavino, Juventus Chief Executive Officer. Juventus, famed for their black and white shirts, said the valuation for the new agreement does not include additional royalties for exceeding certain sales volumes or variable components linked to sporting results. "We're delighted to extend our partnership with the most decorated club in Italian football for a further 10 years," said Sam Handy, General Manager of Adidas Football. Juventus have won the Italian league title more than any other rival club. Juventus and Adidas joined forces from the 2015/2016 season. The German sportswear group has a long-term partnership in place with English Premier League club Manchester United (MANU.N), opens new tab which runs until 2035, and also works with other teams including Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. Teddy Sheringham has hit out at chief executive Omar Berrada's 'dreamlike' comments about Manchester United winning the Premier League by 2028, stressing the need for patience rather than 'pie in the sky' remarks. The Red Devils are reeling from their worst top-flight campaign in 51 years after they stumbled home 15th and missed out on European football by losing the Europa League final to Tottenham. Rivals Liverpool rubbed salt into the wound by equalling United's record of 20 English league titles – their second since the Old Trafford club last lifted the Premier League when Sir Alex Ferguson bowed out as champion in 2013. Ruben Amorim's side look some way off challenging and fulfilling the club's 'Project 150' vision to mark their 150th anniversary in 2028 by winning both the men's and women's league titles. Chief executive Berrada this month underlined his confidence in fulfilling the goal and told United We Stand 'I firmly believe that we can do it' – but Sheringham thinks such a timescale can be unhelpful. 'Omar Berrada's comments are dreamlike,' the former United striker told Sky Bet. 'In football clubs, you've got to have small steps to get to places and if you see those small steps and are encouraged and moving in the right direction, that's when you start looking positively (at the future). 'But when people come out with quotes like that, it can be pie in the sky when you've got to give the manager time to get things right.' Quite whether Amorim will get that patience and belief is another thing given the Portuguese's struggles since taking charge in November. The United head coach retains the hierarchy's backing, but Sheringham says he can ill afford a slow start to the season. 'For Manchester United, the results must improve,' the 1999 treble winner said. 'It can't go on like this. 'The way the talk is – 'it's alright, we're gearing for next year, everything is OK for next season' – but I think they're a long way off being anything like the Manchester United of old and the pressure will be on Ruben Amorim, without a doubt. 'If he starts the season like the end of last season, there is only one way things will go.' Sheringham hopes United come out 'all guns blazing and rip Arsenal apart' in their season opener on August 17, when Amorim will be hoping to have more firepower in place. Matheus Cunha has joined from Wolves and the Red Devils are pushing to sign Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo, but questions remain about the striker position given Rasmus Hojlund's struggles 'We've been speaking about Rasmus Hojlund for a good couple of years now,' Sheringham said. 'First and foremost, I still think he's a decent striker, I just think he's been starved of service at Manchester United. 'The way they play, they play with two out-and-out wingers, no real support apart from Bruno Fernandes getting forward. It's all about the service for centre-forwards and he's had none. 'I struggle to think about any striker that you could put in there, that would suffer from the same service and still score goals. 'You'd have to be some player like Didier Drogba who did things on his own at times, to score goals. Being a young man as Hojlund is and coming into a new country and into the Premier League, trying to understand it, I think he's had a tough ride.'
