Stubborn pooch lies down and refuses to move
This is the funny moment a stubborn pooch refused to move - no matter how hard its owner pulled on the lead. Jamie Bykov-Brett, 34, was walking home from an event near Temple Underground Station in London on Friday (June 27) when he came across the comical scene. The dog, an Akita, can be seen lying flat on the pavement, completely ignoring its owner's efforts to get it moving. Jamie, from Northampton, England, said: "I was just chuckling. "There were a few of us watching to see how it would play out. "It was a hot evening and I imagine the dog was just a bit fed up with the heat. "I left at the point the video ends, so what you see is all I know!"

Rapper Aitch has announced a surprise performance in Manchester later in the year. In a concert supporting his upcoming second album, 4, Aitch will take to the stage to headline Manchester's legendary Warehouse Project. READ MORE: The beautiful Greater Manchester park with a huge lake to visit this summer READ MORE: Calls to cancel Bob Vylan show in Manchester this weekend after Glastonbury controversy Join the Manchester Evening News WhatsApp group HERE Fans of Aitch can expect tickets for the hotly-anticipated event to go on sale in just two days' time, with tickets being available from 10am on July 3. Aitch is no stranger to The Warehouse Project, having previously joined fellow Mancunian DJ and producer Bou in the DNB Allstars event in a surprise appearance. During the performance the two Mancunian musicians introduced their collaboration "Raving in the Studio". The rapper's new album 4 contains some 16 tracks and has been described as having inspiration from "US hip hop titans" including Nas, 50 Cent, and Eminem. The Moston musician took to the stage at Parklife this year, surprising fans at Heaton Park when he made a guest appearance despite not having been confirmed as being part of the festival's set. Aitch delighted fans when he took to the stage during BOU's set on the Magic Sky stage with Blive 247 on the Sunday (June 15). A message designed to look like a text on an old Nokia phone flashed up on the stage, saying "Have you heard the Gossip?", before adding: "Special guests coming soon." BOU was first joined on stage by MC Window Boy, before Aitch took to the stage, greeting the crowd by saying "what's up, Manchester?" The pair launched into a performance of "Raving in the Studio", which was released earlier this year.

Police Open Criminal Investigation After Bob Vylan And Kneecap's Glastonbury Sets
Police near Glastonbury have said they're opening a criminal investigation following performances by Bob Vylan and Kneecap over the weekend. On Saturday afternoon, both acts performed on Glastonbury's West Holts stage, where they each made headlines for their impassioned comments in support of Palestine, in light of the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Most notably, Bob Vylan's frontman led the crowd in a chant of 'free Palestine', before beginning another chant of 'death to the IDF', referring to Israel's army. While Avon and Somerset Police initially said they were assessing video footage from the event, they shared an update on Monday afternoon. Please see the statement below with an update on our investigation into comments made on stage at Glastonbury Festival on accessible version of the statement can be found on our website: — Avon and Somerset Police (@ASPolice) June 30, 2025 'Video footage and audio from Bob Vylan and Kneecap's performances at Glastonbury Festival on Saturday has been reviewed,' their statement read. 'Following the completion of that assessment process we have decided further enquiries are required and a criminal investigation is now being undertaken. A senior detective has been appointed to lead this investigation.' They added: 'We have received a large amount of contact in relation to these events from people across the world and recognise the strength of public feeling. There is absolutely no place in society for hate. 'Neighbourhood policing teams are speaking with people in their local communities and key stakeholders to make sure anyone who needs us knows that we are here for them. We hope the work we have carried out, and are continuing to carry out, reassures the public how seriously we are treating Saturday's events.' In the days since Glastonbury took place, UK prime minister Sir Keir Starmer, the BBC – who broadcast Bob Vylan's set live – and organisers of the festival have all spoken out to condemn the frontman's actions. Responding to questions – including from Starmer – about how the punk rap duo's comments came to be broadcast in full on iPlayer, a spokesperson for the BBC said on Monday: 'With hindsight we should have pulled the stream during the performance. We regret this did not happen. 'In light of this weekend, we will look at our guidance around live events so we can be sure teams are clear on when it is acceptable to keep output on air.' The BBC also branded the comments made by Bobby Vylan, the frontman of the group, about the IDF 'antisemitic'. HuffPost UK contacted Bob Vylan's team on Monday for comment, but did not receive a response, while Bobby previously responded to the furore in an Instagram post captioned: 'I said what I said.' The duo have also had their US work visas revoked, as well as reportedly being dropped by their agents at UTA (United Talent Agency). Avon and Somerset Police did not specify which parts of Bob Vylan or Kneecap's performances had triggered the investigation. In the lead-up to Glastonbury, Kneecap had repeatedly been at the centre of scrutiny after band member Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh – better known to fans of the group by his stage name Mo Chara – was charged with a terror offence, after allegedly brandishing the flag of the proscribed terrorist group Hezbollah during a gig in London towards the end of last year, which he was allegedly handed by a fan. Kneecap previously insisted: 'We deny this 'offence' and will vehemently defend ourselves. This is political policing. This is a carnival of distraction. We are not the story. Genocide is.' Prior to that, they claimed they'd been made the victims of a 'witch-hunt' and 'smear campaign' due to their past support of Palestine, and later also insisted: 'Let us be unequivocal. We do not, and have never, supported Hamas or Hezbollah. We condemn all attacks on civilians, always. It is never okay.' The BBC previously faced backlash over their decision not to air Kneecap's set live, although an edited version is still available to stream on its iPlayer service. During their set, Kneecap led the Glastonbury crowd in a chant of 'fuck Keir Starmer', after the UK prime minister called for them to be dropped from the festival's line-up, while performer Móglaí Bap claimed his bandmate's 'trumped up terrorism charge' was 'not the first time there was a miscarriage of justice for an Irish person in the British justice system'. Referring to the sea of Palestinian flags in the audience, Mo Chara also suggested that the 'BBC editor is going to have some job'. Fans find it ‘hard to say goodbye' as Downton Abbey releases final film trailer
Downton Abbey fans are emotional after the trailer for the last film in the period drama series was released. The new full trailer for Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale, set in the 1930s, shows all the familiar faces returning to their beloved estate as Downton Abbey is soon to be passed from the 7th Earl of Grantham, Robert Crawley (Hugh Bonneville), to his daughter Lady Mary (Michelle Dockery). However, news of her divorce from Matthew Goode's Henry Talbot might put her impending stewardship in jeopardy. At a social event, a new character played by Joely Richardson asks Lady Mary to leave immediately, announcing: 'She's divorced!' lady Mary of Downton Abbey files for divorce SO TRUEEEEE — nina | lady mary DIVORCEE era (@abcdockery) June 30, 2025 The trailer also shows the return of Paul Giamatti as Harold Levinson, with some bad news for sister and Countess of Grantham, Cora Crawley (Elizabeth McGovern). Fans were sentimental as they remembered Dame Maggie Smith's iconic Violet Crawley, as a shot showed a portrait of Violet displayed on a wall inside the stately Yorkshire home. 'As a huge fan of Downton Abbey, it's incredibly hard to say goodbye. This show and the movies has been a part of my life for so many years, it truly became like a second family, with characters I've grown to love deeply. Every story deserves an ending, and though it's difficult, especially with the loss of the incomparable Maggie Smith, I'm grateful that Violet's chapter was beautifully closed while she was still with us. In many ways, it feels like the right time to let go,' one fan wrote on YouTube. 'Absolutely cannot wait to see this! Though I don't want it to end. Make a prequel with Maggie Smith's character as a young woman,' wrote another. Fans also appreciated the change in the once-contentious dynamic between sisters Mary and Edith (Laura Carmichael), which now seemed much warmer. if only sybil could see them now. #DowntonAbbey — val (she/her) 🇵🇸 (@edithcrxwley) June 30, 2025 'long live Downton Abbey.''amen to that.'i'm not crying you are. — lucy (@winonasfilm) June 30, 2025 The official synopsis for the film reads: 'When Mary finds herself in a public scandal and the family faces financial trouble, the household grapples with the threat of social disgrace.
