Roar of our armed forces heard even in Rawalpindi: Rajnath Singh on Op Sindoor

India Today11-05-2025

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday said that the Army avenged the anti-India and terrorist organisations that wiped the sindoor from the foreheads of many women by launching Operation Sindoor.Speaking at the inauguration of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile production unit at the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor in Lucknow, he further said that the Army's actions were not limited to border areas alone but echoed loudly even in the Pakistan Army headquarters in Rawalpindi. advertisement"We not only targeted military bases and border outposts, but the reverberation of Indian armed forces was heard even in Rawalpindi where the headquarters of Pakistani Army is located," he said.
Rajnath Singh slammed Pakistan for targeting civilians and places of worship in India in response to Operation Sindoor. Speaking on India's counter-offensive against terror pads, Rajnath Singh said the Army, in contrast, exercised caution and restraint, targeting only the terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan through precision strikes."We never targeted their civilian population. However, Pakistan not only attacked Indian civilian areas but also attempted attacks on temples, gurdwaras, and churches," he said.Rajnath Singh further said that with Operation Sindoor, India has shown the world that it can now strike deep inside the enemy's territory to fight terrorism."Following a policy of zero tolerance against terrorism, our Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, has made it clear: this is a New India, which will take effective action against terrorism -- both on this side of the border and across it," said Rajnath Singh.advertisement"We have shown that whenever India takes action against terrorism, even the land across the border will no longer be safe for terrorists and their handlers," he added.Saying that Operation Sindoor was not only a military operation, Rajnath Singh said that it was the collective power of India's political, social, and strategic willpower.

Pak Generals Want Conflict To Remain Relevant: Ravi Shankar In Germany

BJP MP and leader of the all-party delegation Ravi Shankar Prasad on Saturday launched a scathing attack on Pakistan's military establishment for supporting terrorism, saying that its Generals want conflicts to remain relevant and use terrorists as a tool to destabilise India. Addressing a community event with the Indian diaspora in Berlin, Prasad pointed out that while both India and Pakistan were born on the same day, the former has made remarkable progress in IT and space, in contrast to Islamabad. "India and Pakistan were born the same day. Where are we in India, and where are they (Pakistan)? India has become a major global IT power in the world. India has become an emerging space power in the world. The startup movements here are now globally recognised. India has also become the second biggest mobile phone manufacturer in the world. We have brought digital transformation with equity and justice," ANI quoted Prasad as saying. Prasad claimed that Pakistan only knows how to prepare world-class terrorists under its military leadership. He said that wherever there is a terrorist, he is either a Pakistani or trained in Pakistan. "What Pakistan is doing is creating terror machines. How to create world-class terrorists under their (military) Generals. They attacked us four times and lost every time. We never attacked; they were the ones who always started the war. It is because they are under the control of Generals and not political leaders. Generals want conflict to keep themselves relevant, and terrorists are the instruments through which they execute. Wherever there is a terrorist, either he is a Pakistani or trained in Pakistan," he added. Prasad also spoke about the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack and India's decisive response through Operation Sindoor on May 7, noting that Operation Sindoor remains paused but ready to resume based on Pakistan's actions. "Pahalgam attack happened on April 22. We attacked on May 7 and hit the terrorist camps. If Pakistan has to talk, it must directly speak to us. Our message was stern and straight: If you stop, we stop. If you fire, we will give a stronger reply. Operation Sindoor is on pause, subject to the good behaviour of Pakistan. It has not ended," he stated. An all-party delegation, led by Ravi Shankar Prasad, is currently visiting Germany as part of the Indian government's initiative to engage with key partner nations, including members of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to convey India's resolute and united stand against terrorism. This initiative follows the tragic April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 innocent civilians lost their lives to gunfire from terrorists. The Delegation includes BJP MPs Daggubati Purandeswari and Samik Bhattacharya, Congress MP Amar Singh and Gulam Ali Khatana, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi, AIADMK MP M Thambidurai, former Union Minister MJ Akbar and former diplomat Pankaj Saran. The delegation arrived in Germany after concluding their visit to Belgium to convey India's resolute and united stand against terrorism.

Amit Shah felicitates Chhattisgarh police officers for historic success in anti-Naxal operation

RAIPUR: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday met with Chhattisgarh's senior police and intelligence officers who played a pivotal role in recent anti-Naxal operations in LWE affected regions. Shah felicitated Chhattisgarh Director General of Police Arun Dev Gautam, Vivekananda Sinha, additional DG (Anti-Naxal ops), P Sundarraj, Bastar range inspector general of police and three SPs. The meeting took place in New Delhi, where Shah personally congratulated the team on what is being hailed as one of the most significant counter-insurgency successes ever in the fight against Left-Wing Extremism. Chhattisgarh chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai and deputy CM Vijay Sharma were present during the meeting. In a post on social media platform X, Shah wrote, 'Met the officers who played a crucial role in the recent anti-Naxal operations and congratulated them on the historic success of these operations. I am eager to meet the brave jawans who made these operations successful with their courage and will soon visit Chhattisgarh to meet them. Modi government is committed to freeing India from the menace of Naxalism.' Shah's remarks come in the wake of a major operation conducted from May 18-21 in Abujhmarh region — one of the most remote and challenging terrains in central India. In a critical encounter on May 21, security forces gunned down 27 Maoists, including the CPI (Maoist) General Secretary and Polit Bureau member Basavaraju alias Gaganna. He was one of the most wanted Maoist leaders in the country. A substantial cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered. Security forces involved in the operation included District Reserve Guard (DRG) units from Narayanpur, Dantewada, Kondagaon, and Bijapur districts, working in coordination under the leadership of top police officials. During the felicitation event, Shah also honoured Prabhat Kumar, SP Narayanpur, Jitendra Yadav, Bijapurand Shalabh Sinha, SP Bastar, in presence of CM Sai, state home minister Sharma, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Director of Intelligence Bureau Tapan Deka, and several senior officers from the Centre and state security apparatus. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai in a message to Shah said, 'It is due to your strong resolve and inspiring leadership that historic success is becoming possible in the fight against Naxalism in Chhattisgarh. This battle to end red terror is at a decisive turning point, and by March 2026, the complete eradication of Maoism from both the state and the nation is certain. Our officers and brave personnel of the security forces are engaged in the mission to make the country free of Naxalism with unmatched courage and valour.
