U.S. Ski & Snowboard, Stifel Extend Groundbreaking Title Partnership Through 2034

PARK CITY, Utah and ST. LOUIS, May 13, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- U.S. Ski & Snowboard and Stifel Financial Corp. (NYSE: SF) are proud to announce a landmark renewal of their partnership from May 2026 through April 2034. This unprecedented 8-year agreement marks the most expansive partnership in U.S. Ski & Snowboard's history and reflects a bold, shared vision through the next three Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
Under the renewed agreement, Stifel will be the title partner of the Stifel U.S. Ski Team, supporting the alpine, cross country, freeski, moguls, aerials, ski jumping, nordic combined and Para alpine teams, as well as the exclusive financial services partner of U.S. Ski & Snowboard.
'As we look ahead to three Olympic and Paralympic Games, including a home Salt Lake City-Utah 2034 Games, this extended partnership with Stifel represents a generational investment in our teams and our athletes,' said Sophie Goldschmidt, President and CEO of U.S. Ski & Snowboard. 'Stifel's support has also enabled us to implement innovative new initiatives that are having a direct impact on the organization. From World Cup podiums to grassroots development, Stifel's belief in the power of sport and our athletes has been a game-changer.'
Since launching the partnership in 2022, Stifel's support of U.S. Ski & Snowboard has driven record-breaking performances, increased the visibility of U.S. athletes and fueled the growth of competitive skiing in the U.S. Over the initial three years of partnership, the Stifel U.S. Ski Team has achieved historic success both athletically and as an organization.
Organizationally, U.S. Ski & Snowboard has expanded its World Cup footprint in North America with the support of Stifel, bringing the total amount of World Cups from four to a record 11 in 2024-25. In the same season, the organization's streaming and broadcast audience has doubled, earned media surpassed 30 billion impressions and social media impressions increased 70%.
2024 was also a record-breaking year for Stifel, highlighting the strength and balance of a diversified business model, achieving net revenues of $4.97 billion, the highest in the firm's history, and delivering a 23% return on average tangible equity, with non-GAAP net earnings of $756 million, or $6.81 per share – a 46% increase from the prior year. And finally, over the year, Stifel's share price increased 56.4%.
'The news of Stifel's renewal as title sponsor of the Stifel U.S. Ski Team is so incredible,' said two-time Olympic champion Mikaela Shiffrin. 'Ron (Kruszewski, Chairman and CEO of Stifel) and Stifel have shown amazing support for snow sports and are truly invested in the stories of our athletes and the growth of our sports, which has translated into more success on the mountain.'
'Stifel has opened up so many opportunities for us as athletes and humans looking to reach our full potential, and I am so grateful for their support and proud to be part of their team,' said Olympic champion cross country skier Jessie Diggins. 'Their commitment to helping us reach the top level is incredible and makes all the difference!'
'The Stifel U.S. Ski Team partnership continuation is monumental for both parties,' said two-time Olympic medalist freeskier Alex Ferreira. 'It is where success meets success. I am humbled and grateful to benefit from all sides.'
Stifel also launched innovative programs around the increased domestic World Cup events, including the Stifel HERoic Cup, designed around U.S. Ski & Snowboard's HERoic initiative celebrating women's sport. Stifel also invested in the Stifel Bibbo Award for the athlete who moves up the most in ranks in alpine World Cup races, and continues to support the Stifel Success Tour, development-level NorAm races in the U.S. that feed the Stifel U.S. Ski Team pipeline. Additionally, Stifel supported the Stifel Snow Show, a weekly series on CNBC, Peacock and YouTube that highlighted the achievements and stories of U.S. Ski & Snowboard athletes each week throughout the season.
The Stifel brand will remain prominently displayed on team uniforms and event signage at US events, along with a continuation of the Stifel U.S. Ski Team branding across digital and broadcast platforms. Stifel will also support a new performance bonus program for athletes and coaches based on key results during the season.
'This partnership is about helping athletes reach their full potential,' said Ron Kruszewski, Chairman and CEO of Stifel. 'As the firm Where Success Meets Success, we believe in backing those who strive for excellence—and that's exactly what these athletes do, every day. We're proud to support them not only as champions on the podium, but as role models, teammates and leaders who inspire us all.'

Stifel has been huge supporter of the Para alpine team. Helping fund our development, pipeline and giving us the support we need to pursue our careers as athletes. Public markets primed for US IPO revival despite tariff uncertainty, NYSE President Martin says

By Arasu Kannagi Basil (Reuters) -Intercontinental Exchange-owned NYSE's President Lynn Martin said on Thursday that public markets were ready for well-prepared companies despite tariff unease as easing volatility was setting the stage for a rebound in U.S. IPO activity. Optimism that 2025 would finally be the year for a strong rebound in U.S. IPO market activity has recently been tempered by tariff-driven uncertainty, but the window seems to be opening up again after volatility eased and equities bounced back. "There's been this narrative in the market, particularly for the last two years. It's a bit false that companies can't go public," Martin said at the Piper Sandler Global Exchange & Trading Conference. The companies debuting at this time were public-market ready, she said, highlighting the successful listings of cybersecurity firm Rubrik and social media platform Reddit last year. "They were ready to go. They went, and they've done extraordinarily well," Martin said. Analysts say the IPO market could be in the early stages of a broader pickup, but that sustained stability was needed before the window opens fully. "We expect approximately one or two deals per week in June, ramping up a bit in July after Independence Day, and if all goes well, a full rebound in September, October after the summer lull," said Matt Kennedy, senior strategist at Renaissance Capital, a provider of IPO-focused research and ETFs. NYSE TEXAS The impending launch of the Texas Stock Exchange, backed by Wall Street giants BlackRock and Citadel Securities, is set to heat up the competition in listings markets. The NYSE was following its playbook, talking to its customers about why more of them were moving to Texas, Martin said. NYSE Texas officially opened for business in March and has secured a handful of companies over the past few weeks - including Trump Media & Technology Group - as its "founding" members. "The conversations we're having are incredibly positive," Martin said, adding that NYSE Texas had another double-digit dual listing lined up. Sergiño Dest joins long list of USMNT stars to miss the Gold Cup

A U.S. men's national soccer team already missing several notable players for the Concacaf Gold Cup lost another key figure Thursday when Sergiño Dest was ruled out so he can continue his comeback from ACL surgery. The dynamic right back recovered from the injury this spring and resumed playing for Dutch club PSV Eindhoven. But after several days at U.S. training camp, Dest and the staff decided he was not ready for a long-term competition. 'We determined the best decision is for the player to have an individualized training program for the summer, so he can focus on being fully recovered and ready to perform next season,' Coach Mauricio Pochettino said in a statement. Dest is the sixth player from the camp roster to fall out of contention for the Gold Cup — the U.S. team's last tournament before the 2026 World Cup. Goalkeeper Zack Steffen, who was primed to compete for the starting job, withdrew Wednesday with a knee injury. Previously, goalkeeper Patrick Schulte, forward Folarin Balogun and defenders DeJuan Jones and Sean Zawadzki were scratched. Even before naming the camp roster May 22, Pochettino left off several players who were injured, requested time away following the European club seasons or are unavailable because of the Club World Cup this summer. That group included Christian Pulisic, Antonee Robinson, Weston McKennie, Tim Weah, Gio Reyna and Yunus Musah. On Thursday, Pochettino finalized his 26-man Gold Cup roster with 14 players who have made four or fewer U.S. appearances, including seven with none. Four players received their first invitations to U.S. camp: defender Alex Freeman, midfielders Quinn Sullivan and Sebastian Berhalter, and forward Damion Downs. The roster averages 16 international appearances. John Tolkin, a former New York Red Bulls standout now with Holstein Kiel in Germany, replaced Dest. 'Of course, our priority is to win the tournament and to show the right mentality and approach,' Pochettino said, 'and we are confident these players will take advantage of the opportunity.' The U.S. team will prepare for the Gold Cup with friendlies Saturday against Turkey in East Hartford, Connecticut, and Tuesday against Switzerland in Nashville. In the Gold Cup group stage, the Americans will play Trinidad & Tobago on June 15 in San Jose, Saudi Arabia on June 19 in Austin and Haiti on June 22 in Arlington, Texas. Mexico and Canada are the other tournament favorites. After the Gold Cup, the Americans' schedule will feature a series of friendlies in the fall and spring before Pochettino finalizes his World Cup roster.

Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman join Australia SailGP team as co-owners

Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman become co-owners of the Australia SailGP team on Thursday. The 'Deadpool & Wolverine' stars joined driver and CEO Tom Slingsby in leading the team's rebrand after several successful seasons, winning three championships in its four seasons. The team will be called the BONDS Flying Roos, with the Australian underwear company BONDS as its title partner. 'We're incredibly excited to set sail together in this new adventure,' Reynolds and Jackman said in a joint statement released through SailGP. 'Hugh brings a deep love for and pride in his home country, as well as being an avid fan of sailing. He will also be bringing his overly clingy emotional support human along for the ride. Apologies in advance to Australia. No comment on whether we're writing this in our BONDS. No further questions.' It's the latest sports venture for Reynolds, a Vancouver native who, along with fellow Hollywood actor Rob McElhenney, is a co-owner of Wrexham, one of the world's oldest soccer clubs. Reynolds and McElhenney were also part of an investment group that acquired Colombian club La Equidad earlier this year. The BONDS Flying Roos SailGP Team is expected to make its debut at the Mubadala New York Sail Grand Prix starting June 7. Slingsby, an Olympic gold medalist, said in a release that Jackman and Reynolds bring 'unmatched star power, a love for storytelling, and a sharp sense of (humour) that fits perfectly with our team.' 'With BONDS joining as our Title Partner and the launch of the BONDS Flying Roos,' Slingsby added, 'we're building something distinctly Australian; a team driven by spirit, resilience, and national pride.' ___ AP sports:
