Hezbollah Hints It Won't Disarm If Israel Still Occupies Southern Lebanon
A senior Hezbollah official has hinted that the Lebanese group will not lay down its weapons as long as Israel is occupying parts of the country.
Mohammed Daamoush made his comments in Beirut during a sermon for Friday prayers adding that Israel's occupation of five strategic hilltops and what he said were daily violations of a ceasefire aim to pressure Lebanon to normalize relations with Israel.
Daamoush said the state now controls the border with Israel and Lebanon's new government is backed by the international community and has weapons, so 'what have you done to face daily Israeli violations and aggression?'
He called on authorities to convince the public about why weapons should only be held by the state, adding: 'When there is occupation and a continuing aggression weapons should be in the hands of men and everyone should repel this occupation.'

Hezbollah Official Says Group Will Not 'Initiate' Attack on Israel after Israeli Strikes on Iran
A Hezbollah official said on Friday the Lebanese armed group backed by Iran would not unilaterally launch its own attack on Israel in response to Israeli strikes on Iran. "Hezbollah will not initiate its own attack on Israel in retaliation for Israel's strikes," the official told Reuters. A public statement from Hezbollah condemned Israel's strikes and expressed full solidarity with Iran. A Hezbollah official said the strikes on Iran 'threaten to ignite the region', according to AFP. Israel attacked Iran's capital early Friday in strikes that targeted the country's nuclear program and killed at least two top military officers, raising the potential for an all-out war between the two bitter Middle East adversaries. The strikes came amid simmering tensions over Iran's rapidly advancing nuclear program and appeared certain to trigger a reprisal. Multiple sites around the country were hit, including Iran's main nuclear enrichment facility, where black smoke could be seen rising into the air.

'Hezbollah will not initiate its own attack on Israel in retaliation for Israel's strikes,' the official told Reuters. A public statement from Hezbollah condemned Israel's strikes and expressed full solidarity with Iran. Hezbollah also warned Friday that Israel's strikes on its main foreign backer Iran 'threaten to ignite the region.' The group, which fought a two-month war with Israel last year, condemned the 'brutal Israeli aggression' against Iranian nuclear facilities and scientists and said Israel was 'engaging in adventures that threaten to ignite the entire region.' The Lebanese foreign ministry said it was in talks to 'spare' the country from any repercussions following the attack.

Israel strikes on Iran ‘reasonable reaction': Czech Republic
The Czech foreign minister said Friday that Israeli strikes on Iran were a reasonable response given Tehran's nuclear ambitions and support for groups seeking to destroy Israel. The Czech Republic, an EU and NATO member of 10.9 million people, is a staunch supporter of Israel despite mounting criticism from western allies over its actions in war-ravaged Gaza. Iran 'is supporting so many players, including the Hezbollah and Hamas movements, with the intention to destroy the state of Israel, and also seeking a nuclear bomb,' Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky told reporters in Prague. 'And I see that this was a reasonable reaction from the state of Israel towards a possible threat of a nuclear bomb,' he added. 'I have a great deal of understanding for, let's say, military action aimed at preventing the production of a nuclear bomb in the region,' he said. 'Iran has long failed to fulfil its obligations to the international community, is building up its nuclear program and, at the same time, uses rhetoric aimed at destroying the state of Israel,' he added. Israel pounded Iran in a series of air raids on Friday, striking 100 targets including Tehran's nuclear and military sites, and killing the armed forces' chief of staff, the head of Iran's Revolutionary Guards and top nuclear scientists. Iran has ramped up its nuclear program in recent years. It denies seeking a nuclear weapon.
