KUALA LUMPUR: Traffic remains heavy on several major highways as increased numbers of vehicles leave the federal capital ahead of Hari Raya Aidiladha today. A spokesman for PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) said that as of 10.30pm yesterday, slow-moving traffic was reported on the North-South Expressway (NSE) and Kuala Lumpur-Karak (KLK) Expressway. "In addition, slow-moving traffic was also detected on the PLUS E2 northbound route from Skudai Toll Plaza to Sedenak and from Yong Peng to Pagoh, while southbound traffic was slow from Southville City to the Seremban Rest and Service Area and from Bandar Ainsdale to Senawang. "For the PLUS E1 route, northbound delays are expected from Bukit Lanjan to Rawang, Sungkai to Bidor, Bidor to Tapah, Tapah to Gopeng, and Perai to Bertam," the spokesman told Bernama. The Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) reported congestion eastbound on the KLK Expressway from Gombak to Bukit Tinggi and from Lentang to Bentong via its social media platform. No Hajj Without A Permit: Saudi Arabia's Vision For Safe And Seamless Pilgrimage
MINA (Saudi Arabia), June 6 (Bernama-SPA) -- Saudi Arabia's unwavering commitment to ensuring a safe and secure Hajj for every pilgrim is embodied in its annual national awareness and regulatory campain "No Hajj Without a Permit', a cornerstone of the Kingdom's national vision for a successful pilgrimage. The campaign, aimed at both domestic and international pilgrims, is a testament to the Saudi leadership's dedication to providing comprehensive services, safety, comfort, and reassurance, preventing the chaos and violations that have historically disrupted the smooth flow of Hajj. "No Hajj Without a Permit" directly addresses issues such as unauthorised pilgrims, road congestion, and fraudulent Hajj campaigns that expose pilgrims to harsh conditions, according to Saudi Press Agency (SPA). bootstrap slideshow For the Hajj season 1446 AH, the campaign has underscored the Kingdom's firm resolve, emphasising that a successful Hajj is a shared national, security, and organisational responsibility. Measures include proactive awareness messaging, intensified security checkpoints at entry points to Makkah and the holy sites, the use of advanced monitoring technologies, and the immediate enforcement of penalties for violations. This year's Arafah Day, in particular, highlighted the campaign's success, SPA reported. Pilgrims followed instructions and arrived at their designated camps on time, resulting in an unprecedentedly smooth traffic flow and clear roads around Arafat and Namirah Mosque. A palpable sense of tranquility and reassurance prevailed as pilgrims performed their essential Hajj rituals, supported by a secure environment and extensive government services. Each authorised pilgrim was allocated equipped spaces within the holy sites, ensuring an organised experience that prioritised their health and service needs, including housing, catering, healthcare, and modern transportation, while smart applications and platforms further enhanced awareness efforts.

Aidiladha exodus clogs major highways, tidal lane activated on Sungai Besi Highway
KUALA LUMPUR, June 6 — Traffic flow on several major highways was reported to be congested and slow as of 5 pm this evening, following an increase in city folk vehicles leaving to celebrate Aidiladha in their hometowns. A spokesperson for the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) said traffic flow on the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway (KLK) had increased from the eastbound direction in Gombak to Genting Sempah. On the North-South Expressway (PLUS), traffic on the E2 route was also reported to be slow northbound from Pasir Gudang to Dato' Onn and from Senai Utara to Sedenak, and the same situation was also reported for the southbound route from Universiti Putra Malaysia to Nilai Utara, Nilai to Bandar Ainsdale and Seremban to Pedas Linggi. 'Traffic is also congested on the PLUS Highway, route E1 northbound from Bukit Lanjan to Rawang Selatan, Sungai Buaya to Bukit Beruntung, Bukit Tagar to Lembah Beringin and from Juru to Perai. 'Meanwhile, on the PLUS E1 in the southbound direction, the same situation also occurs from Juru Auto City to the Juru Toll Plaza,' he said when contacted by Bernama today. However, he said that the East Coast Highway (LPT) 1 and 2 are still smooth and under control in both directions. 'However, congestion is reported on the Sungai Besi Highway, therefore a tidal lane has been activated after the Mines Selatan Toll Plaza to UPM/Putrajaya from 4 pm to 8 pm tonight,' he said. — Bernama
