That was the highlight for the Warriors, the rest of the game... not so much.
This game was exhibit 1A of why the Warriors traded for Jimmy Butler and signed him to a two-year, $121 million contract extension: The Warriors were +12 in the 36 minutes Stephen Curry was on the court and -13 in the 12 minutes he was on the bench, sitting next to Butler, who was out due to back spasms. Steve Kerr said postgame that he realized what was going on, but with the Warriors playing three games in four nights, he could only lean into his 36-year-old star for so much.
The Warriors' other problem was Quentin Grimes, who went off for a career-best 44 points.

Therefore, the Warriors would likely accept a high asking price in order to create a new duo of Giannis and Stephen Curry. After all, Golden State's primary goal is to give Curry a shot at another championship before he retires. Adding Giannis would help achieve that. Still, it's worth noting that there's currently no reporting that Giannis wants to leave Milwaukee. For him, his goal is to win a championship in Milwaukee for Golden State against the Bucks. 'It'd be pretty cool to win a championship in Milwaukee against them; that would be something cool,' Podziemski said. 'But I love Golden State. I love everything that they've invested in me despite having Hall of Famers all the time around me. It's pretty cool to be wanted as a young player.' Podziemski and Antetokounmpo are at different points in their careers. However, if the young Warriors guard has his way, they will stay where they are and finish their careers with one team. Still, Milwaukee's superstar fits what the Warriors are looking for. Therefore, there is a world in which they are in the same deal.
