Highland Jazz & Blues Fest unveils 21st anniversary plans
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — The Highland Jazz and Blues Festival Announcement Party takes place at The Noble Savage on Wednesday, April 30.

Media and guests will get an exclusive 'first look' at the official poster artwork and music lineup for the 21st Anniversary of the Highland Jazz and Blues Festival. Festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. with Loose Association playing until 6:30 p.m. The poster design and band lineup will be revealed from 6:30 to 7:15. The band will resume at 7:15 and conclude the event.

The Highland Jazz and Blues Festival is an annual free event hosted by the Highland Area Partnership in Columbia Park. Since its inception in 2003, the festival has grown from a few bands and a crowd of 500 to 1,000 people to a three-stage event with more than 10 bands and 10,000 people. Proceeds from the event are used to bring it back each year.

Boom or Bust Byway sculpture signage unveiling this weekend Explore downtown Shreveport and make some stops along the way. The American Legion Post 14 will host a flag day ceremony and Cross Lake Floatilla Saturday, June 14 starting at 9 a.m. There will be food trucks, slip-in-slides, bounce houses, along with a Lifeshare Blood Drive that goes directly to the local VA hospital.
