Aaron Rodgers Confirms He Got Married: ‘Yes, It's a Wedding Ring'

PITTSBURGH — Aaron Rodgers has been spotted with a ring on his finger in recent months, and it indeed is a wedding ring. Rodgers confirmed during his introductory press conference with the Pittsburgh Steelers that he's been married for a 'couple of months.' Advertisement 'Yes, it's a wedding ring,' Aaron told a reporter, who congratulated him on his marriage. 'Thank you.' In a December episode of The Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers shared he had a girlfriend named Brittani while discussing Christmas shopping. He also noted, 'There was one package left for my girlfriend Brittani that hadn't showed up yet.' Rodgers said Brittani keeps her life fairly private as she does not have social media. The 41-year-old quarterback has been in several high-profile relationships in the past. He dated Olivia Munn from 2014 to 2017, Danica Patrick from 2018 to 2020, and was engaged to Shailene Woodley from 2020 to 2022. He has also been linked to Jessica Szohr and Kelly Rohrbach. Advertisement 'I was dealing with a lot of things in my personal life and some things improved a little bit where I felt like I could fully be all in here with the guys,' he said. Rodgers credited Mike Tomlin for being the driving force into why he wanted to play for the Steelers. He also feels like signing with the Steelers was a decision that was 'best for my soul.' 'I don't need it for my ego,' the 41-year-old future Hall of Fame quarterback said. 'I don't need it to keep playing. A lot of decisions that I've made over my career and life from strictly the ego, even if they turn out well, are always unfulfilling. But the decisions made from the soul are usually pretty fulfilling. 'This was a decision that was best for my soul and I felt like being here with coach [Mike Tomlin] and the guys that got here, and the opportunity here was the best for me and I'm excited to be here.' Aaron Rodgers Answers Burning Question: Why Is He Still Playing at 41?

PITTSBURGH — Playing out the twilight of his career in the Steel City is as much a spiritual foray for Aaron Rodgers as it is one driven by the desire to sling a football. The four-time NFL MVP and newest Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback loves the game, but, at this point in his odyssey, could bear to live without it. That's exactly what might make the experience so freeing. Advertisement Following his first Steelers practice Tuesday at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex, Rodgers stood in front of a gaggle of reporters, eager to hear why he joined the team now and what intrigued him about the organization. As one would expect from someone whose Netflix documentary labels him an enigma, his explanation of why he's still at it isn't one many would expect. 'I think that's what it is. I don't need it,' Rodgers said when asked why he still wants to play. 'For my ego, I don't need it — to keep playing. A lot of decisions that I've made over my career and life from strictly the ego, even if they turn out well, they're always unfulfilling. But the decisions made from the soul are pretty fulfilling. This was a decision that was best for my soul, and I felt like being here with Coach (Tomlin) and the guys they got here and the opportunity here was the best for me.' He can argue he's the most gifted passer in the league's history, not to mention he already has a Super Bowl ring. If they haven't understandably cast Super Bowl XLV out of their memory, Steelers fans can recall how he attained it. He hasn't been back to that stage since, however. Advertisement 'I have a lot that motivates me, but this is about the love of the game,' Rodgers said. 'The game has given me so much over the years. And making peace with a nice long career.' Jets Star ‘Disappointed' Aaron Rodgers Signed with Steelers

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers during a game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Oct. 20, 2024. -- Ed Thompson / Steelers Now One of the New York Jets best players was disappointed to see quarterback Aaron Rodgers join the Pittsburgh Steelers. The New York Jets seemed more than happy to part ways with quarterback Aaron Rodgers when they announced their plans to release him in March. That feeling wasn't mutual throughout the entire organization, though. Advertisement Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Cameron Heyward revealed that Jets star defensive tackle Quinnen Williams was not so happy to see the four-time NFL MVP go. 'One guy I really trust is Quinnen Williams, so I had some conversations about that,' Heyward said on the latest episode of 'Not Just Football with Cam Heyward.' 'Q. spoke so highly of him, said he was a great teammate, really loved playing with him. I think he was kind of disappointed that Aaron wasn't coming back there for another season.' It isn't Rodgers fault that he isn't returning to New York this season. In fact, he was interested in staying, despite the team's coaching staff turnover. Advertisement However, he revealed on 'The Pat McAfee Show' in April that he was fired less than one minute into the meeting, and that didn't sit well with him. 'I figured that when I flew across country on my own dime that there was going to be a conversation,' Rodgers said. '20 seconds in, he goes … 'So, do you want to play football?' And I was like, 'Yeah, I'm interested.' And he said, 'We're going in a different direction at quarterback.' I was kind of shocked. … You could have told me this on the phone if we weren't even going to have a conversation.' New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers during a game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Oct. 20, 2024. — Ed Thompson / Steelers Now The Steelers are more than happy to use the adage, 'One man's trash is another man's treasure' in this scenario, though. Advertisement Before Rodgers signed with Pittsburgh, the team's only quarterbacks under contract were Mason Rudolph, Skylar Thompson, and sixth-round rookie Will Howard. So the Steelers were more than happy to sign Rodgers on a very team-friendly deal this late into the offseason. 'I think we're in a good position,' Heyward continued. 'Every teammate that he's had has talked very highly of him, so it's definitely a step in the right direction, bringing him over here.'
