‘Well-known felon' caught trying to speed away from north Georgia deputies
A man described as a 'well-known felon' is now facing more than a dozen charges in Habersham County.
Habersham County deputies say they spotted Marvin Chris Mangum, who was wanted out of Hall County, on Ivey Street and tried to pull him over.

Instead, they say Mangum sped off and lost control of his truck and brushed against the bumper of a deputy's patrol unit. He regained control and continued fleeing from police.
In a vacant gravel parking lot, deputies say Mangum's truck jumped a ditch and crashed into a Habersham County Sheriff's Office SUV.
That's when they say he ran off, but a K9 chased him down. He was arrested and charged with DUI by Georgia State Patrol.

The sheriff's office says they are also charging him with possession of methamphetamine, fleeing or attempting to elude, obstruction and several traffic offenses.
He was treated for minor injuries before being taken to the Habersham County Detention Center where he was given a $15,600 bond. He also faces a probation hold for Hall County.
The second SUV he crashed into sustained some damage, but remains in service. No deputies were injured.

Georgia man drowns after caught in Gulf rip current
Authorities in Florida said a 47-year-old Georgia man died Sunday after drowning in the Gulf of Mexico. The Gulf County Sheriff's Office said on social media that Timothy Franklin was swimming with a family member when he got caught in a rip current. [DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] Deputies responded at about 2 p.m. to an emergency call about a possible drowning in the 3800 blook of Cape San Blas Road in Port St. Joe. They found emergency personnel from Gulf County EMS and South Gulf Fire Rescue engaged in life-saving efforts that ultimately proved unsuccessful. The Gulf County Sheriff's Office said 'it is grateful for the numerous members of the community that have wrapped themselves around the Franklin family to provide support during this incredibly difficult time. This is a heartbreaking incident, and the family remains in our thoughts and prayers.' A GoFundMe has been started on the family's behalf, according to media reports. What was the police response on Pioneer Monday in Puyallup? Here's what we know
Two men are in custody and one is on the loose after an early-morning burglary in Bonney Lake, according to police. Mark Berry, police chief for the Bonney Lake Police Department, told The News Tribune the burglary happened at a local pharmacy at about 3:20 a.m. on Monday. When The News Tribune asked him for the name of the pharmacy, he declined to answer but said it is in the area of 204th Avenue East and state Route 410. Berry said the suspects were three men. When police showed up at the pharmacy, they saw one of the men flee out the window and the two other men drive away in a white SUV, he said. Berry said investigators used the city's Flock license plate camera system 'to identify the suspect vehicle and put that information out.' A K9 from the Puyallup Police Department found the three men driving at 13th Street Southeast and Pioneer Way East in Puyallup, Berry said. The three men then ran out of the car and officers used a drone and a K9 to find two of the suspects, who are now in custody. The third is still at large. 'After a search warrant on the vehicle, we recovered several bags of stolen prescription narcotics from the pharmacy, as well as burglary tools,' Berry said. 'We are currently working with other agencies in the area who have reported similar burglaries.' Berry said the third man was last seen wearing all-black clothing and a mask.
