School in lockdown with armed police 'everywhere' after reports of man with knife
A primary school was placed in lockdown following reports of a man with a knife nearby.
It came after a worker at a doctor's surgery was reportedly threatened with the weapon this afternoon (Thursday, June 5).
A National Police Air Service helicopter was seen circling overhead in New Moston, Manchester, with police 'all over' nearby Nuthurst Road, Moston Lane East and Parkhurst Avenue.
Armed police were seen at the entrances to Nurhurst Park at around 3pm, Manchester Evening News reports.

Police confirmed that officers had been called to a doctor's surgery on Moston Lane East after a member of staff was threated with a knife.
The person then fled from the surgery with enquiries now ongoing to trace him.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
New Moston Primary School then into lockdown 'as a precaution', police confirmed.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "Emergency services were called to reports of a concern for welfare on Moston Lane East in Moston at around 2:17pm this afternoon.
"A man threated a member of staff at a doctor's surgery with a knife and then made off from the surgery.
"Enquiries are ongoing to locate the man. No injuries have been reported.
"As a precaution a nearby primary school decided to go into lockdown."

Hillsborough County deputies make arrests in shooting that injured teen
The Brief Deputies with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office have made arrests in connection with a shooting that injured a teenager on Wednesday. Detectives said they found evidence connected to the shooting inside a bedroom belonging to a 17-year-old and an 18-year-old. A 38-year-old man was also arrested for driving with a suspended license when deputies said they found him driving the vehicle linked to the suspected shooter. PROGRESS VILLAGE, Fla. - Two teenage felons have been arrested in connection with a shooting that injured a teenager on Wednesday. The backstory According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, deputies went to the area of South 81st Street and Fir Drive shortly before 12:40 p.m. after receiving multiple 911 calls regarding a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies found a teenager suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Menomonee Falls FedEx gunfire, man charged with attempted homicide
The Brief Prosecutors said a man shot at a manager at the Menomonee Falls FedEx facility. The 19-year-old is now charged with attempted homicide and misdemeanor battery. Court filings said the gunfire stemmed from an argument and fight. MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. - A man is accused of attempted homicide after prosecutors say he shot at a manager during a fight at the Menomonee Falls FedEx facility on Monday. In Court Prosecutors charged 19-year-old DeAnthony Leflore with attempted first-degree intentional homicide and misdemeanor battery. His bond was set at $200,000 on Friday. A criminal complaint states callers reported Leflore had fired a gun, but no one was shot. When police got there, court filings said a security worker informed them that Leflore was no longer in the facility's gated area. It was unclear where Leflore went, and officers searched for but did not find him. What they're saying Prosecutors said a manager told investigators that Leflore arrived at the facility around 2:30 a.m. – an hour before his shift – and was unable to scan his badge and get inside. He was told to go home because he wasn't allowed to start early. Leflore later made a comment that the manager took "to mean (Leflore) was going to shoot her," per the complaint, before he left. The manager then told security not to let him in "because of his escalating behavior." Court filings said Leflore then asked that manager if he was fired or not before saying, "I'm finna force it," and repeatedly punching the manager in the face. The manager said she bit Leflore's hand and pulled his hair to try to get him off of her, and another manager came over to separate them. Leflore then ran toward a fence that separates the main facility from the parking lot, per the complaint. He grabbed a gun from a backpack and pointed it at the manager. The victim said she saw a laser sight affixed to the gun, and she saw the point of the laser on her chest before Leflore said: "(Expletive) I'll pop you." The victim said she then heard gunshots as she ran, but she was not hit. The complaint states police found a bullet casing and some of Leflore's hair, which was ripped out during the struggle, at the scene. A security worker said he saw the fight and saw Leflore holding a gun with a laser sight that "appeared" to be pointed at the victim. He heard one gunshot and called 911. Additional witnesses also said they saw Leflore with a gun. Surveillance video showed the fight, according to court filings, during which Leflore went to the fence line and picked up what appeared to be a gun before pointing it at the victim. One gunshot was heard as everyone ran from the area. Additional video showed Leflore walking away with a gun "clearly" tucked in the front of his waistband.
