Images show vivo X Fold5's thickness compared to iPhone 16 Pro Max
vivo unveiled the X Fold3 last March, and its successor - called X Fold5 instead of Fold4 - is coming soon. vivo recently posted a video showing the Fold5 being lighter than the Fold3, weighing 219g. Now, a brand official has shared a couple of images comparing the vivo X Fold5's thickness with that of the Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max.
The pictures show the vivo X Fold5 in both folded and unfolded states, positioned next to the iPhone 16 Pro Max. You can see that in unfolded state, the X Fold5 is thinner than the iPhone 16 Pro Max, but even in folded state, it's only slightly thicker than the iPhone.
That's impressive since the iPhone 16 Pro Max is 8.3mm thick, while the X Fold3 is 10.2mm thick when folded. So the Vivo X Fold5 is not only slimmer than the X Fold3 but also lighter.

vivo is yet to reveal the X Fold5's launch date, but rumors claim the smartphone will be unveiled on July 10 alongside the X200 FE.
The vivo X Fold5 is said to come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, 16GB RAM, 512GB storage, and a 6,000 mAh battery with 90W wired and 30W wireless charging support.
The X Fold5 will pack an 8.03" 120Hz foldable AMOLED display with "2K+" resolution, while the outer screen - also having a 120Hz refresh rate - will measure 6.53" diagonally. Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max
The X Fold5 will feature five cameras: two 32MP selfie cameras (one on each screen) and three 50MP cameras (primary, ultrawide, periscope telephoto) on the rear.
The primary camera will use the Sony IMX921 sensor, while the periscope telephoto unit - having 3x optical zoom - will use the Sony IMX882 sensor. The ultrawide camera will have autofocus for macro photography.

Nothing releases another Phone (3) teaser image
Late last month, Nothing unveiled the first teaser image depicting a small part of its upcoming Phone (3), and today the company is back with another one. It's still not a full view of any part of the device, it just seems to be a more zoomed-out version of the initial image. It is however looking like Nothing might give up on its transparent-like look for the back of the phone. The company has already confirmed that the Phone (3) won't have the Glyph LED lights on the back, with rumors swirling about the fact that it would be replaced with a customizable dot-matrix display. Phone (3). Ultra-precise engineering. — Nothing (@nothing) June 6, 2025 Clearly, Nothing enjoys teasing us like this, and we fully expect another, even more zoomed-out image to follow in a few days. And so on. The Phone (3) will be made official at an event in London on July 1, alongside the company's first-ever pair of over-ear headphones. Nothing is billing the Phone (3) as its first proper flagship smartphone, but based on the pricing that Nothing CEO Carl Pei revealed, it will probably end up being more of a 'flagship killer' type of device. Still, definitely the highest-end the brand has ever produced, that's for sure.

Samsung's first tri-fold smartphone will disappoint in the charging department
Samsung has long been rumored to be outing its first tri-fold smartphone, a la the Huawei Mate XT, later this year. Whether it's going to be announced alongside the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 at its next Unpacked event in New York in early July remains to be seen. Regardless, the device is currently engaged in the global certifications dance, specifically it's been spotted in China's 3C database. This certification has revealed that the phone will only support 25W wired charging. Of course, a certification in China also confirms that the handset will launch over there. The tri-fold smartphone has the model number SM-F9680, where the "0" suffix signifies a phone intended for the Chinese market. Across the world, it will be SM-F968x, with the last character changing depending on market. SM-F968 has previously been associated with the tri-fold device. Unsurprisingly, the 3C certification also reveals the fact that Samsung will ship the tri-fold smartphone without a charger in the box. According to past leaks, the device will have a 9.96" folding screen and a 6.54" cover display, and will weigh 298g. Its release might be very geographically limited. Via

Apple loses in court, has to stop charging developers for payments outside of the App Store
Apple's request for a stay on a US court's ruling has been denied, so it has to immediately stop charging developers for payments made outside of the App Store. The company filed an emergency motion last month seeking a stay on a ruling in April, which found Apple in "willful violation" of a 2021 injunction that barred it from forcing anticompetitive pricing. It's also filed an appeal against that ruling, which is yet to be finalized, so things could still change in the future. Apple's stay is denied by the 9th Circuit Court. The long national nightmare of the Apple tax is ended. May next week's WWDC be the Apple-led celebration of freedom that developers and users have long deserved. — Tim Sweeney (@TimSweeneyEpic) June 4, 2025 But for now, Apple needs to stop taking a 27% fee on apps getting paid through non-Apple payment mechanisms, which amazingly it has been doing since it started allowing apps to link out and not handle payments exclusively through Apple. The company also has to eliminate the 'scare screens' it shows users before letting them use third-party payment providers for iOS apps. Spotify and Amazon are already making changes to their apps to reflect the new situation, so now you can pay for your purchases and subscriptions outside of the App Store without any 'Apple Tax'.
