Justin Thomas Catches Attention for What He Did During PGA Championship
It wasn't the best day on the course for Justin Thomas at Quail Hollow on Thursday. He shot a 73 (+2) in the opening round of the PGA Championship, placing him in a tie for 73rd.
Thomas got off to a rough start, going +3 through the first three holes. He finished the front nine at +4. While his play improved on the back nine, a bogey on the 18th left him with a 34 on that side and a 73 overall.

Despite the ups and downs, Thomas delivered a highlight-reel moment on the 16th hole. From just under 37 feet off the green, he chipped in for birdie, moving to +1 at the time and drawing attention from fans and fellow golfers alike.
Here's how golf fans reacted to the shot:
One fan said, "16 has been brutal to the players. Good to see someone get one back."
A Justin Thomas fan was excited, "Love it! GO JT!!!"
"Congrats, JT!" cried out this fan.
This fan was extremely impressed with the shot, "Insane. Great chip"
Golf fans know a good shot when they see it, as one wrote, "So pure."
This golf fan was impressed, but even more impressed with a later shot: "His shot on 18 was better."

Thomas, who turned 32 in April, has two major wins to his name, both at the PGA Championship. His most recent victory at this event came in 2022. In total, he has 16 PGA Tour wins since joining the tour in 2013 after playing college golf at the University of Alabama.

He finished tied for 36th at the 2025 Masters in April. The U.S. Open, however, has proven more difficult lately, with Thomas missing the cut in the last two editions.
At the top of the PGA Championship leaderboard after Day 1 is Jhonattan Vegas, who closed out late in the afternoon with a stellar 7-under 64. He holds a two-stroke lead over Cam Davis and Ryan Gerard heading into Friday.

Who is Coco Gauff's boyfriend? Here's what we know.
Coco Gauff has become a true breakout star in the tennis world, reaching No. 2 in the world rankings and winning her first Grand Slam at the 2023 U.S. Open. And if you're here, you might be wondering: does she have a significant other? And if so, who is it? Advertisement Here's what we know: she is reportedly dating someone, but she's not revealing his identity. Why's that? Here's what she told People back in 2024 about keeping some things under wraps: 'I think I felt like I just, some parts of myself I love to share and then some parts I think I just keep to myself.' She has said it's not a fellow tennis player, and she made a funny joke about that after Challengers came out. We know that he's musical and wants to act. There are rumors about who it could be, but we don't know officially since Gauff hasn't publicly talked about him beyond those few details. Here's what else she said to Time back in 2023: Gauff has had a boyfriend for about a year, whose identity she prefers to keep private. She does share that he's from Atlanta, and not famous. 'This is my first real relationship,' says Gauff. 'To just have someone to talk to who is not involved in tennis at all gives me a fresh perspective.' Advertisement There you have it! French Open: No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka faces No. 2 Coco Gauff in the women's final
PARIS -- No.1 Aryna Sabalenka faces No. 2 Coco Gauff in the French Open final on Saturday with both women aiming to win the title for the first time. Gauff lost the 2022 French Open final at age 18 but the American beat Sabalenka in the 2023 U.S. Open final, Gauff's only major so far. The 27-year-old Sabalenka, who is from Belarus, has won three majors but is appearing in her first French Open final. It is the first No. 1 vs. No. 2 final in Paris since 2013, when Serena Williams defeated Maria Sharapova, and just the second in the last 30 years. Sabalenka and Gauff have split their 10 previous matchups evenly, but Sabalenka won their most recent encounter, also on a clay court at the Madrid Open a month ago. ___
