Quote: "I immediately did not believe it, knowing China well, the Chinese. But then I thought: the Chinese don't throw around empty words. And even more so the head [of China]. That's where it all started."
Details: According to Lukashenko, the stadium was built "relatively quickly", and also appeared in the Belarusian capital and a new international-class pool.
Quote: "We are officially opening the largest 'monument'. I said at the entrance [near the stadium there is a sculptural composition depicting a Belarusian and a Chinese football players – ed.]: this is a good place to erect a monument to my friend Xi Jinping.

Because only thanks to him, the Chinese built this stadium at their own expense."

Bessent Says Reciprocal Tariff Pause Could Be Extended for Some Nations

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Wednesday that the U.S. might extend a 90-day pause on reciprocal tariffs for trading partners the administration views as negotiating in good faith. "I would say as I have repeatedly said that there 18 important trading partners," Bessent said during a congressional hearing. "It is highly likely that those countries, or trading blocs in the case of the EU, who are negotiating in good faith—we will roll the date forward to continue good faith negotiations," he said of the expected July ending of the pause. The remarks came after Trump's team, which included Bessent, said they negotiated to put the administration's truce with China back on track.
