Berkley man accused of preying on teens across Metro Detroit due in court
The Brief
A Berkley man accused of sexually assaulting teen girls is due in court for a preliminary exam Tuesday morning.
Darren Bradford has been charged with criminal sexual conduct in three communities for these alleged crimes.
Police said Bradford would provide the victims with alcohol and vapes to coerce them into sex.
BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (FOX 2) - A man facing sex crime charges for allegedly preying on teens in at least three Metro Detroit communities is due in court for a preliminary exam Tuesday.
Darren Bradford, 24, will appear in Bloomfield Hills' 48th District Court.
The backstory
Bradford was first arrested and charged in February after undercover investigators spotted numerous minors visiting his Berkley apartment. According to Berkley police, a witness reported seeing minors visiting the apartment.
During their investigation, police learned that Bradford was meeting minors on Snapchat and taking them to lunch during the day. In the evening, he allegedly gave the minors alcohol and vapes, including ones that contained marijuana. He is also accused of having sexual contact with at least one of the victims.
Bradford was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct.
While being held in the Oakland County Jail, police in Grosse Pointe Park learned about an alleged sexual assault that happened in their city. He allegedly sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl in his vehicle in February, the same day Berkley police received a tip about teens at his apartment.
In March, Bradford was charged with criminal sexual conduct in Bloomfield Township after he was accused of using vapes to coerce a 15-year-old girl into sex. He allegedly told the victim that he would not sell her vapes unless she had sex with him. This is the case he will be in court for Tuesday.

Choirs gather for special events throughout district
AS PART of the City of Culture Year local Bradford Choirs around the district- Bradford Voices, Ben Rhydding Community Choir, Bridging Borders and Bradford Friendship Choir, are pleased to welcome the 41st Street Choir Festival. The weekend will be shared with Windrush Generations- Carnival of Culture. The weekend includes a full programme of street singing, concerts and workshops. Members of the public will be entertained free by the festival's visiting choirs, from across the UK who will assemble in City Park on Saturday June 14. They will be welcomed to the event and the city by James Mason, chief executive of West and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce. At 10.30am until 11am the choirs will sing together in what they call a Mass Sing. This will be an uplifting experience of more than 50 choirs and around 1100 singers, with the singing together unaccompanied in four-part harmony. They will sing songs of peace, unity and solidarity. Prior to this the audience will be warmed up by Bradford-based band the Peace Artistes. After the Mass Sing the choirs will sing in 15 locations around the city centre for shoppers and passers-by who can stop, listen, reflect and relax. On the evening choirs will then showcase their songs at St George's Hall. Bradford is one of the first places in the UK to be recognised as a City of Sanctuary and has always welcomed people seeking a safe place of refuge, it is also the only city in the UK with a Peace Museum which is now housed in Salts Mill, Saltaire, so it is a fitting location. First held in Sheffield in 1984 as the National Street Band Festival, the Street Choirs Festival brought together musicians who played in the signature marches and protests of a politically turbulent decade. The intention of the festival is to put music into protest to make it more creative, joyful and thought provoking. The festival has expanded to welcome community choirs who sing together for the love of singing. It includes women's choirs, asylum seeker choirs, anarchist choirs, socialist choirs, , LGBTQ choirs, choirs singing to raise awareness of human rights, social justice, environmental justice, climate justice and other campaigns. It has been hosted by community choirs across the UK, from Edinburgh to Brighton, Aberystwyth to Whitby and in 2026 it will be in Dumfries and Galloway. Bradford has hosted the festival twice before, in 1999 and 2005. More than 1200 eco-friendly handmade recycled bags made by the many sewers at Bingley-based Morsbags and screen printed by local firm Fingerprints have been produced for the Street Choir Festival. Morsbags in Bingley, are linked to the Plastic-Free Bingley action group and have a team of dedicated volunteers make shopping bags from donated pieces of fabric which are then given to a host of town shops to pass on to their aim is to encourage people to reduce their use of plastic bags and encourage recycling and reusing by handing out the bags. Caught on camera: Troy teens allegedly stealing doorbell cams, police say
TROY, Mo. – Police in Troy, Missouri, say they have received reports of multiple people in a dark-colored Dodge truck tampering with and even stealing Ring doorbell cameras from homes in the area. Volunteers aid tornado victims from various states
ST. LOUIS – There is an influx of help for St. Louis tornado victims coming from other states. Texas and Oklahoma are among those teaming up with Missouri and making an astounding difference in the May 16 tornado relief effort. The Missouri Baptist Disaster Relief group was on the ground and delivering its first meal in St. Louis less than 24 hours after the tornado hit. Close Thanks for signing up! The group here is part of a network of 42 Baptist relief organizations that have been active for almost five straight months now. 'We've been going since about the third week of January: started with ice storms, then tornado, tornado, after tornado. We've been stretched so thin,' said Edgar Barnhill of Charleston, MO, which is near Sikeston in SE Missouri. So, the Missouri team has turned to Oklahoma and now Texas for reinforcements. The operation has run non-stop, with the salvation army delivering the meals, manning meal 'pick-up' locations and covering the cost of all the food. The labor from Missouri Baptist Disaster Relief is free of charge and all volunteer. Most of those working here now are far from home. They handle every task, from start to finish, in what is essentially a massive mobile restaurant. Those getting the meals say they're blessed. Those making them say it's the other way around. 'Why do you do it?' FOX 2's Andy Banker asked Barnill. 'Service,' he said, choking up a bit. 'Jesus did it for us. He asked us to do it for the least of these, your brothers. What we do gives people hope. If people get hope, then they can start healing.' He says the group is also staffing laundry and shower operations in St. Louis.
