Former Premier League star and Al-Hilal player sends message to Bruno Fernandes as Man United captain weighs up Saudi mega-move
A former Premier League star who made a move to the Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal has sent a message to Bruno Fernandes as talk of the Man United midfielder doing the same thing intensifies.
Fernandes' agent, Miguel Pinho, held face-to-face talks with Al-Hilal officials at the Four Seasons hotel in Riyadh this past week, in what was described by sources as a 'positive' meeting.
Al-Hilal are said to have offered Fernandes a staggering financial package worth up to £200million over three years, including bonuses.
As part of the deal, the Saudi giants are prepared to quadruple Fernandes' current weekly wage of £280,000 to a tax-free sum of £700,000.
If the 30-year-old gives the green light then the Saudi club are expected to submit a formal bid in the region of £100m to United, who continue to insist they do not want to sell.
Ruben Neves joined Al-Hilal from Wolves two years ago and plays alongside Fernandes in the Portugal national team.
And he has encouraged his compatriot to follow in his footsteps.
'I recommend all the players in the national team, of course,' he told A Bola.
'Fortunately, Portugal has produced a lot of talent and continues to do so. We are a lucky country in that respect.
'We are also very hard-working. A very small country but one that has produced excellent players.
'Just yesterday we saw four of our players (Gonçalo Ramos , Joao Neves , Nuno Mendes and Vitinha) lift the Champions League.
'It is an excellent sign for Portugal . I would like to have any player from the national team in my team.'

Madeleine McCann latest: New search for British girl who went missing in 2007 under way in Portugal
08:21:01 Last search for Madeleine was in 2023 German authorities last carried out searches in 2023, near the Barragem do Arade reservoir. That's about 30 miles from Praia da Luz, and you can see in the map below how far that is from the current search, with teams in Atalaia. Suspect Christian B, who spent time in the area between 2000 and 2017, had photographs and videos of himself near the reservoir there (read more about him in the post below this one). That's where the previous search was focused. It was previously searched in 2008 after Portuguese lawyer Marcos Aragao Correia paid divers following claims Madeleine's body was there. Christian B, who cannot be fully identified under German law, is coming to the end of his sentence for the rape of an elderly American woman in Praia da Luz in 2005. He has not been charged or indicted over Madeleine McCann's appearance and denies any involvement. In October, he was acquitted on rape and indecent assault charges in a trial in Germany - which also heard references to his status as the main suspect in the McCann case.
