Sean "Diddy" Combs Hit with Four Additional Sexual Assault Suits

Sean 'Diddy' Combs has been hit with four new lawsuits from plaintiffs alleging sexual assault.
The suits were filed in New York, all under the Gender-Motivated Violence Act with a lookback window closing on March 1.
It detailed similar allegations of sexual assault, with accusers claiming they were drugged and subsequently subjected to sexual acts against their will.
The GMVA was granted an amendment in 2022 that allowed survivors whose claims were previously time-barred to file a suit against their abuser during the window period of March 1, 2023 and March 1, 2025.
With the Act coming to a close, more suits are expected to be filed before week's end.
The first suit against Combs comes from Aristalia Benitez, who lived in New York City in 1995 at the age of 20. Another plaintiff, Justin Gooch, claims that he was 16 years old in 1999 while living with his grandparents in New Jersey.
Leslie Cockrell filed a third suit regarding an incident that occurred in 1999 when she was 24.
The fourth lawsuit was filed against Combs and VH1 by Kendra Haffoney, who worked for a designer showroom in Los Angeles in 2007. She applied to a new VH1 show 'I Want to Work for Diddy,' and was selected, moving to New York that year.
In a statement, representatives for Combs said, 'No matter how many lawsuits are filed—especially by individuals who refuse to put their own names behind their claims—it won't change the fact that Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted or sex trafficked anyone—man or woman, adult or minor. This lawsuit is nothing more than a collection of media headlines, stitched together with fragments from other lawsuits and baseless rumors. With the deadline for New York's Gender-Motivated Violence Act expiring tomorrow, opportunists are scrambling to file last-minute, meritless claims. We live in a world where anyone can file a lawsuit for any reason, but that does not make the claims true. Mr. Combs is confident he will prevail in court.'
The filings come shortly after a male escort sued Combs over accusations of sexual assault that allegedly occurred in 2012.
Combs is currently detained at Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center, where he will remain until his criminal trial, slated for May 5.

Kid Cudi Testifies at Sean "Diddy" Combs Trial
Yara Sameh Scott Mescudi, the rapper and actor better known as Kid Cudi, took the stand as a witness during Sean 'Diddy' Combs' sex trafficking trial on Thursday, recounting his relationship with Casandra 'Cassie' Ventura and Combs' alleged acts of retaliation. Mescudi appeared in the New York courthouse dressed in jeans, a leather jacket and a white T-shirt. Prosecutors began by asking him about his relationship with Ventura. 'We were friends and dated briefly,' he responded, noting that his understanding at the time was that 'she and Sean Combs had some problems and they weren't dating' when they began seeing each other in 2011. That December, Ventura called Mescudi and told him that Combs had found out about their relationship. She sounded 'stressed, nervous and scared,' and Cudi went to pick her up. 'I didn't think she was still dealing with him,' he said. Ventura had told him that Combs was 'abusive,' and that 'she didn't know what [he] would do.' Mescudi picked her up and drove her to the Sunset Marquis in West Hollywood, where he and Ventura received a call from Combs' employee Capricorn Clark, who Mescudi said was 'scared' and 'on the verge of tears.' Clark told them that Combs was at Mescudi's home in the Hollywood Hills, so Mescudi drove home. On the way there, he called Combs, recalling that he asked him, 'Motherfucker, are you in my house?' Combs responded, 'I just want to talk to you.' When Mescudi arrived, no one was home, but he could tell there had been a break-in. The Chanel gifts that he had bought for his family for Christmas had been opened, and his dog was locked in the bathroom, which was unusual since he usually let the dog roam around the house. The dog was 'very jittery, on edge all the time' when he let him out. Mescudi got back into his car and called Combs again. 'I wanted to confront him, I wanted to fight him,' Mescudi said. After giving it some thought, Mescudi called the police because he didn't know what Combs' 'intentions' were. He spoke to the cops and made a report about the break-in. Later in December, Mescudi spent the holidays with Ventura's family in Connecticut. Combs had texted him around this time, and suggested that he wanted to speak with him. Mescudi said he responded, 'You broke into my house, you messed with my dog, I don't want to talk with you.' Mescudi's relationship with Ventura ended after the holidays, as 'the drama was just getting out of hand,' according to Mescudi. One day in January 2012, Mescudi was in Los Angeles when he received a call from his dog sitter, who was at his home at 6:30 in the morning. The sitter told him that his car was on fire, and Mescudi returned home to see the damage. Photos of the car were shown in court, with smoke damage to the doors and a hole cut in the roof of his convertible. A Molotov cocktail was found near the car. Though there was no clear connection between Combs and the incident, it has been speculated on the witness stand that Combs orchestrated the explosion. Earlier in the trial, prosecutors displayed a December 2011 email from Ventura in which she wrote Combs 'said that he will be having someone hurt me and [Mescudi] physically. He made a point that it wouldn't be by his hand, he actually said he'd be out of the country when it happened.' The day after Mescudi's car was set on fire, he met with Combs and Ventura at the Soho House in L.A. Mescudi described Combs' demeanor as 'calm,' which was 'off-putting.' At the end of the meeting, as Combs and Mescudi shook hands, Mescudi asked, 'So what are we going to do about my car?,' to which Combs responded, 'I don't know what you're talking about.' Asked how he interpreted Combs' words, Mescudi said, 'He was lying.' The next time Mescudi saw Combs was a few years later, when they bumped into each other at the very same Soho House. Combs approached Mescudi and said, 'I just wanted to apologize for all the bullshit,' Mescudi remembers. He said the general apology was 'the last thing I was expecting' from Combs, and he 'made peace' with the situation. Questioned about why he and Ventura ended their relationship despite having feelings for each other, Mescudi told the court they broke up 'for my safety, for her safety.' Asked to elaborate on his safety concerns, Mescudi said, 'I knew Sean Combs was violent.' During his cross-examination, Mescudi said he did not personally witness Combs abuse Ventura, nor did Combs ever threaten him directly. Mescudi is not the only celebrity suitor to be mentioned in Combs' trial. During her testimony, Ventura mentioned a brief fling with 'Sinners' star Michael B. Jordan in 2016. Kid Cudi to Testify in Sean 'Diddy' Combs Trial
Yara Sameh Federal prosecutors have called rapper and actor Kid Cudi is set to testify in Sean 'Diddy' Combs' sex-trafficking and racketeering trial in New York this week. Prosecutor Maurene Comey announced Tuesday that the rapper, who had a brief romantic relationship over a decade ago with Combs' ex- partner Cassie Ventura, is expected to take the stand on Wednesday or Thursday. Ventura testified last week at the trial that Combs learned she was dating Kid Cudi while going through her phone messages at one of the 'freak-off' events the couple would have at various hotels. Combs, Ventura said in her testimony, threatened to blow up Cudi's car in early 2012. She also testified that Combs threatened to release two explicit tapes featuring her and that the rap mogul would send an individual to harm both of them. After Ventura first filed her 2023 civil lawsuit, which also included the allegations about Cudi's car, a rep for the rapper confirmed that a vehicle of his had exploded, but provided no more details. 'This is all true,' the rep told the outlet. Cudi will testify after George Kaplan, a former employee who Ventura testified had quit after witnessing Combs' abuse. 'I feared for my career. I feared for my family. It's just embarrassing, all of it,' Ventura said while testifying last week. Sean "Diddy" Combs Loses Bid to Delay Trial; Jury Selection To Begin May 5
Yara Sameh A Manhattan federal judge on Friday denied a bid by disgraced mogul Sean 'Diddy' Combs to delay his sex trafficking and racketeering trial by two months, ruling that the request was made too close to his trial date. The rapper's lawyers asked for the delay on Wednesday, arguing they didn't have enough time to prepare for trial after prosecutors added new charges earlier this month. Per Reuters , Judge Arun Subramanian denied that motion at a court hearing on Friday. Endorsing an argument made by the prosecutors, Subramanian said that the new indictment largely overlapped with earlier charging papers. According to CNN , the judge told Combs' lawyers that it was 'unclear why there isn't sufficient time to prepare.' Friday's ruling means that jury selection will begin on May 5 and testimony will begin on May 12. Combs was indicted in September, charged with running a sprawling criminal operation that aimed to 'fulfill his sexual desires' by subjecting numerous women to abuse. The case centers on elaborate 'freak off' parties in which Combs and others would allegedly ply victims with drugs and then coerce them into having sexual intercourse, as well as on alleged acts of violence to keep victims silent. A trial has long been set to start in May. If convicted on all of the charges, which include sex trafficking and racketeering, Combs faces a potential life prison sentence. In a letter to the judge filed Wednesday, the singer's lawyers claimed the feds were dragging their feet on turning over crucial evidence, and that the extra two months would give them 'the necessary time to prepare his defense' for a new superseding indictment filed April 3. The request — far longer than the two-week delay Diddy's lawyers had hinted they might seek — was opposed by prosecutors, who said the new charges were not sufficiently different to require any delay at all and that Combs was not entitled to the evidence he claimed he was owed. In addition to denying the delay, Subramanian made another important ruling Friday. According to Matthew Russell Lee of Inner City Press, the judge granted a request from prosecutors to allow three alleged victims to testify under Jane Doe pseudonyms. Combs' lawyers had called the move 'a blatant violation of Mr. Combs's Sixth Amendment rights to confront witnesses,' but prosecutors said it was necessary to protect them from harassment and embarrassment. The judge seemingly left at least one big pretrial issue unresolved: a motion filed by Combs on Thursday seeking to ban prosecutors from showing jurors the infamous 2016 surveillance video of him assaulting his former partner Cassie Ventura.
