BeIN Media Group extends F1 Academy rights deal
2025 season features an 18-car all female grid, racing at seven rounds, broadcast live on beIN SPORTS in English, Arabic and Turkish
beIN continues its support of F1 and women's sport, through beINSPIRED initiative
DOHA, QATAR – beIN MEDIA GROUP (beIN), the global sports, entertainment and media group, has extended its deal to broadcast Formula 1's F1 ACADEMY™ across the Middle East, North Africa (MENA), and Türkiye until 2033. The third season of the all-female driver category, which invests in developing young, female drivers to progress to the highest levels of motorsport, starts later this month.
This year's F1 ACADEMY circuit will welcome ten new full-time drivers as well as seven drivers returning for their second season. A total of 17 full time drivers will compete in 14 races across seven rounds. At each round, one Wild Card entry will also have the opportunity to join the F1 ACADEMY grid.
The 2025 season will open in Shanghai on 21-23 March, followed by Jeddah the following month, then Miami, a first F1 ACADEMY race in Montreal, a return to the sand dunes of the Netherlands' Circuit Zandvoort and the streets of Singapore, before a first season-ending race weekend in Las Vegas on 20-22 November.
All seven rounds will be broadcast live on beIN SPORTS in English, Arabic and Turkish, and available to stream on beIN's leading OTT platform, TOD, with beIN's renowned F1 reporter Stephany Saad on the grid to bring viewers exclusive interviews with the drivers and team personnel.
beIN's eight-year partnership extension with F1 ACADEMY, which comes the week of International Women's Day 2025, highlights the race series' pivotal role in the women's sports portfolio at beIN, as well as beINSPIRED, the media group's global initiative launched in 2019, that gives a bigger platform to historically under-represented sports and talent, with a particular focus on women's sport.
Richard Verow, Chief Sports Officer at beIN MEDIA GROUP said: 'The extension of our partnership with F1 ACADEMY for the next eight seasons in MENA and Türkiye is fully aligned with our beINSPIRED corporate commitment that drives a broader mission of elevating female athletes, enhancing their visibility, and ensuring they receive the media recognition they deserve. We take immense pride in not only being the home of F1 in the region, but also in advancing diversity and inclusion within motorsport – the continuation of our commitment to the F1 ACADEMY is evidence of that.'
F1 ACADEMY is just one of many women's sports that beIN holds broadcast rights, which falls within its beINSPIRED corporate commitment. The Group's portfolio also includes the UEFA Women's EURO, UEFA Women's Champions League, UEFA European Women's U17 Championship, UEFA European Women's U-19 Championship, FIFA Women's World Cup, and the FIFA U-17 and U-20 Women's World Cup. In 2025, in different markets, beIN SPORTS will showcase female talent in the remaining three tennis grand slams, Premier Padel, and much more.

ICC World Test Championship Final: A guide to Lord's
A unique sporting venue set to host the ICC World Test Championship Final for the first time in 2025, the history and grandeur of Lord's has to be experienced first-hand to be truly understood. With its famous pavilion and Long Room, it stands alone as a sporting venue for its heritage and tradition. Nestled in St John's Wood, a prosperous area of north west London, Lord's has hosted Test matches since 1884 and has witnessed a litany of iconic moments befitting of its affectionate nickname, 'The Home of Cricket'. The ICC World Test Championship Final 2025 will join a storied list of cricket matches to take place at Lord's when South Africa face Australia from 11 to 15 June. Lord's held its first international Test between England and Australia in 1884, though the origin of the ground itself dates back to 1814. The hallowed turf has since staged feats such as Don Bradman's famous 254 during the 1930 Ashes and Graham Gooch's 333 for England against India in 1990, still the highest individual Test score at the ground. Lord's has hosted the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Final five times, most recently the remarkable 2019 final between England and New Zealand. It has also twice been the venue for the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup Final, including the 2017 edition that saw England beat India in a thrilling final. Stars from South Africa and Australia will hope to join some of the game's finest players on the famous honours boards at Lord's, that sit in the pavilion to commemorate centurions and bowlers who have taken five wickets in an innings or 10 in a match. It is one of the many traditions at the famous ground, that also includes the notorious walk batters must make through the Long Room when called to the crease. The Long Room is also host to a number of portraits commemorating the great and the good of both English and international cricket, with the likes of W.G. Grace, Charlotte Edwards, Sir Ian Botham and Shane Warne all honoured. Some traditions are newer at the historic venue, with the now ceremonial ringing of the five-minute bell introduced in 2007, an honour now bestowed to figures within the sport. Those looking for an extra slice of history do not have to venture far, with Lord's home to the MCC Museum, one of the oldest sports museums in the world. Its collection includes the original Ashes urn and the first Men's and Women's Cricket World Cup trophies. Cricket is not the only sport Lord's has hosted, with real tennis and rackets still played on the same site while baseball, hockey and lacrosse have all previously taken place. It also memorably hosted archery at the London 2012 Olympics. ENDS

Formula 1 sponsorship revenue over $2B in 2024, closing on NFL
Formula 1 is hot on the tail of the big dog of professional sports marketing, the NFL, and cleared $2.04 billion in sponsorship revenue in 2024. SponsorUnited, which tracks sponsorship and advertising takes across sports, had F1 and its teams behind only the NFL at $2.5 billion in total sponsorship revenue. The total advertising spend for F1 in 2025 is on course to exceed $2.5 billion, according to Ampere Analysis. But major US sponsors such as American Express and IBM still are flowing in with the circuit catapulting in popularity off the success of Netflix series "Drive to Survive" while thriving under the control of Liberty Media. F1 tops the NBA, MLB and NHL and its racing teams each accounted for more than $6 million, according to the report, which breaks down the airbox and sidepod ad placement cost at more than $5 million for the most popular drivers on the circuit. Tops among individual sponsor agreements with F1 is the 10-year, $1 billion pact with luxury conglomerate LVMH, which holds a portfolio anchored by TAG Heuer, Louis Vuitton and Hennessy. The largest sponsor for any F1 team is the Williams contract with Australian software corporation Atlassian valued at a reported $25 million to $30 million per year. On the NFL side, the most significant singular sponsorship commitment is with Pepsi. That contract is worth a reported $2 billion over 10 years for exclusive rights at all NFL events and use of the league's trademark in advertising. With F1, Mercedes, Ferrari, Red Bull and McLaren are the highest earners in the sponsorship category. Car and driver technology accounts for nearly $500 million in partner income for the 10 teams, according to the report. Reuters
