Trompe-l'œil desserts, the fruit desserts often molded and decorated to mimic mango, pistachio and an array of other produce and nuts, look like works of art. French pastry chef Cédric Grolet is credited with starting the trend, and the desserts are gaining in popularity in Los Angeles, with a handful of shops offering their take on the beautiful confections. We taste tested more than a dozen. Here are our favorites.

Beyoncé's Paris finale: Jay-Z surprise guest, new songs added, Cardi B, more

Beyoncé Knowles-Carter stunned the crowd during her last show overseas on her 'Cowboy Carter' tour — adding beloved hits, debuting more looks and turning the night into a special family affair. The Grammy-winning singer kicked off her third concert at Stade de France in Paris June 22. The show marked last show overseas on her Cowboy Carter and the Rodeo Chitlin' Circuit Tour. She performed on the French stage for a total of three night on June 19, 21 and 22 after a six-night stint in London. Derrian "Phreshy" Perry and his friends have traveled across the pond before to see Beyoncé, and this year they made a point to fly from the U.S. for her grand finale in Paris. "Having seen Beyoncé in the U.S., Canada, London and Dubai, it was on my bucket list to see her in Paris. And wow, just wow," Perry says. "For me, concerts overseas are a different type of energy." As fans know, Beyoncé first debuted her "Cowboy Carter" tour at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on April 28 with 39 songs on the set list. Her shows have been filled with family, fashion, different music genres, and most notably country music and cultural commentary. And Sunday's show was proof that Beyoncé isn't slowing down her high-powered show anytime soon. "This album is more than a country body of work. It's the story of a Black American dream," Perry says. "Given the world we live in today, it's also the perfect getaway from the worries of the world." Beyoncé brought special energy and surprises to the French stage each night of her tour. At the final show in Paris, she shocked fans once again when her husband, hip-hop mogul Jay-Z, made a surprise appearance. The two performed some of their beloved throwback hits together, including 'Crazy in Love' (2003) and 'Drunk in Love' (2013) as the crowd roared. Jay also performed his song "N***as in Paris." "As if she wasn't enough, we got a surprise from Jay-Z. My life was made," Perry says. With Jay-Z's surprise performance came some new hits on the set list. During the show, Beyoncé added fan favorites such as "Partition" (2013) for the first time on this tour. She also performed her hit song "Drunk in Love," and many fans were thrilled to see Bey and her dancers show off all-new choreography to the tune. Of course, Jay-Z's appearance comes just days after Miley Cyrus shocked fans when she hit the stage for the duet "II Most Wanted" during Beyoncé's June 19 show. Following Jay's segment, one fan wrote, "Paris, y'all won so much! Deserved!" This tour has been a huge showcase of fashion and creativity. Each night, Beyoncé continues to blend high fashion and cowboy couture, keeping fans on the edge of their seats as they anticipate a new look. And Beyoncé was sure to deliver during her final "Cowboy Carter" show on the French stage. And the looks kept coming the entire night. And from the looks of the of it, the thousands of fans weren't the only ones to enjoy the high-powered, final show. Rapper Cardi B, singer Kelly Rowland and Beyoncé's mom, Tina Knowles, were among those raving and and dancing around. Other high profile guests in attendance at Sunday's show included Australian actress Alycia Debnam-Carey. The nine-city tour will span the U.S. and Europe with the grand finale taking place in Las Vegas on July 26. Forum Members Review the Jacquemus Versailles-Staged Fall 2025 Collection

Fresh off the heels of Menswear Paris Fashion Week, the fashion pack ventured to Versailles to bear witness to the Fall 2025 collection of Jacquemus. The French designer unveiled his 'Le Paysan' lineup within the Palace of Versailles' l'Orangerie (built by before work on the Château de Versailles had even begun). Guests like Gillian Anderson, Aya Nakamura, and Emma Roberts were in attendance, sitting perched front row within the historic grand halls. Down the elongated runway, models (like Alex Consani, Loli Bahia, and Devyn Garcia) walked the space, showcasing Simon Porte Jacquemus' mostly monochromatic collection (in homage to his family) of voluminous proportions, crochet, summer whites, and sheer fabrics. 'Wonderful.' [brandon J pierre] 'There are some great looks in here – Look 21 is fab!' [VogueDisciple93] 'Finally, he woke up. A good collection. Very focused and very achieved I would say. Still very much on the wave of the previous one but this is a good collection. Keep up the good work Simon!' [Lola701] 'Dying for Alex Consani's dress! It's an OK collection. You can definitely see a lot of improvement from, for example, the past Versailles show, but I miss the fun of the first shows. Now, he seems to take himself too seriously as a couturier.' [carla56] 'I think the location and the soundtrack stole most of the beauty, but there were some nice looks in there. Unfortunately a lot of awkward stiffness too, in both the clothes and the models.' [nationalsalt] 'I am pleasantly surprised. He demonstrates disciplined tailoring and a certain Mediterranean romance. The collection reveals his problem with construction. Minor structural adjustments would significantly improve some of the looks and provide purity to the silhouettes.' [QuantumCouture] See all the looks from the Jacquemus Fall 2025 collection and join the conversation, here. The 9 Saddest Restaurant Closings to Know in Las Vegas

The dining landscape in Las Vegas is ever-changing. At the halfway point of 2025, Las Vegas has bid goodbye to Strip restaurants with celebrity names and neighborhood haunts with 24-hour dining. Below are restaurants that closed within the last month or so, as well as restaurants that have already announced their final days of service. This is a curated list of Las Vegas's most notable restaurant and bar closures. See a closing we missed? Then drop us a line. Count's Vamp'd Rock Bar & Grill wasn't just a music venue — it was a cornerstone of Vegas's off-Strip nightlife for more than 16 years. Created by Danny 'Count' Koker of Counting Cars, Pawn Stars, and Saturday Fright at the Movie fame, Vamp'd offered a mix of live music, hearty bar fare, and grit, welcoming everyone from local tribute bands to members of Black Sabbath and Pantera. With its custom-built stage, expansive bar, and fully permitted live music zoning, it was both a neighborhood haunt and a destination music venue. Koker is passing the torch, listing the property for a cool $4.3 million. The club itself played its final set and closed on Saturday, June 28. Social Station Kitchen & Cocktails opened in May 2024 as a stylish neighborhood hangout in Henderson, offering playful bites like Reuben eggrolls and crispy pork ribs, alongside creative cocktails and espresso martinis. The 2,500-square-foot space featured a patio, a 10-seat bar, and a dinner menu with dishes like mozzarella risotto and campanelle bolognese. Despite backing from the team behind Emmitt's at Fashion Show Mall, the restaurant shuttered in April — less than one year after its debut. The closure caught some diners off guard, as online reservations remained active even after the restaurant had closed, prompting confused guests to find the doors locked upon arrival. EDO Tapas & Wine, an acclaimed Chinatown tasting-menu spot, announced it will close after seven acclaimed years. Known for playful and creative plates — bluefin tuna tarts, patatas bravas, caviar-filled eggshells — it earned a devoted following for its intimate 35-seat format and inventive prix-fixe menus. The closure makes way for the team's new restaurant, Braseria, opening this fall at the Collective near the Las Vegas Convention Center. The upcoming French-Catalan brasserie promises a roomier space, shared plates, tableside service, dramatic décor, and a 1,000-bottle wine cellar. EDO Tapas & Wine will close in September. Spiedini Fiamma Italian Bistro brought a coastal Italian vibe to the Rampart Casino and JW Marriott, with flame elements, koi ponds, and a 1,400-square-foot wraparound patio. Led by chef Paula Smagacz, the menu offered refined takes on Italian staples — lobster ravioli, saffron mussels, and housemade pizzas from an open kitchen beneath a hand-painted mural. The space was rich in texture and color, with light marble counters, stacked stone accents, and blue velvet banquettes. Spiedini Fiamma closed in May to make way for newcomer Ai Pazzi. After nearly a decade, Alain Ducasse's French Riviera-inspired restaurant Rivea closed on the 64th floor of the W Las Vegas. The closure, first announced in May, ended more than 20 years of Ducasse-led dining in the rooftop space, which began with the Michelin-starred Mix when the building was still the Hotel. Rivea opened in 2015 following the rebrand to Delano, known for elegant French dishes and sweeping Strip views. While neighboring Skyfall Lounge remains open, MGM Resorts says a new restaurant in the Rivea space is in the works. Rivea served its final dinner on Sunday, June 22. Electra Cocktail Club at the Venetian Resort temporarily closed on Sunday, June 29 to undergo a renovation that will include a new design, a reimagined cocktail menu, and a calendar of themed events. The Wynn's premier steakhouse, SW Steakhouse, is temporarily closed for interior updates until August 7. CliQue Bar & Lounge, the stylish cocktail lounge at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, has temporarily closed its doors for a full remodel, scheduled to reopen in the fall. The X Pot is offering a limited-time unlimited wagyu and live seafood hotpot experience starting at $119 per person before it temporarily closes for renovations in August.
