Saudi Arabia's Diriyah Company and UAE-based G42 have been named to the prestigious TIME100 Most Influential Companies of 2025, a global list recognising organisations making extraordinary impact across business, culture, innovation, and sustainability.
The annual list, curated by TIME editors and experts, highlights 100 companies reshaping their industries and influencing the world's future.
This year, Diriyah Company was recognised for its transformational urban development project in Riyadh, while G42 was honoured in the 'Innovators' category as a rising global AI power.
Diriyah: Saudi's cultural megaproject joins global elite
Diriyah Company becomes only the second Saudi firm, after Aramco in 2024, to be included in the TIME100 list. The recognition spotlights the company's work in developing the $63.2 billion 'City of Earth', a visionary cultural and residential project on the outskirts of Riyadh.

G42: UAE's AI trailblazer gains global spotlight
Abu Dhabi-based G42 was recognised as an 'Innovator' on the list for its leadership in artificial intelligence and mega-scale digital infrastructure.
TIME specifically cited G42's launch of the largest AI infrastructure project outside the US—a 10-square-mile AI campus unveiled in May in partnership with Microsoft and OpenAI.
The campus, based in Abu Dhabi, includes supercomputing facilities, a science park, and is core to the UAE's ambition to become a global AI superpower by 2031.
Faheem Ahamed, Group Chief Marketing and Communications Officer at G42, noted that G42's selection reflects its growing global influence, with giga-scale projects underway in Europe, Kenya, and the US, and a collaborative model that positions the company at the centre of global AI infrastructure development.
TIME100: A global barometer of influence
The TIME100 Most Influential Companies list was launched in 2021 and includes past honourees such as Apple, Microsoft, LVMH, and JP Morgan. Companies are evaluated on impact, innovation, ambition, leadership, and success, with nominations drawn from TIME's global contributor network and external experts.
This year's recognition of Diriyah Company and G42 cements the growing global influence of the Gulf region, as it emerges as a powerhouse across a variety of fields.

UAE: No free remittances for Emirates NBD customers from September
Emirates NBD on Friday said that it will implement a fee for international transfers made via the app or online banking. In an email sent to customers, the major bank said that starting September 1, 2025, customers will be charged Dh26.25 for remittances, including those done by DirectRemit. DirectRemit is a digital money transfer service that allows Emirates NBD customers to make remittances to India, the Philippines, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Egypt and the United Kingdom in less than 60 seconds. Remittances through this service are currently charged Dh0 in fees, as can be seen below: The bank will also be charging a fee for cancelling local or international transfers. TIME100 Most Influential Companies list includes Abu Dhabi AI firm — a first for the UAE
UAE artificial intelligence major G42 and Saudi Arabia's Diriyah have been named among the world's 100 most influential companies for 2025 by Time magazine. It is the first time a UAE company has made it on to the prestigious list. China's Alibaba, global asset management company BlackRock, Japanese video game company Nintendo, China's ByteDance, Chinese EV company BYD, DeepSeek, SoftBank, Hyundai and LinkedIn were also included on the list. To select its 100 most influential companies, the magazine requested suggestions and applications from across sectors, surveyed its contributors and correspondents from around the world, and also sought advice from outside experts. Factors it considered included the impact made by companies as well as metrics related to innovation and success. G42 G42, owned by Abu Dhabi's sovereign wealth fund Mubadala Investment Company, has been rapidly expanding its operations across the globe since its inception in 2018. Last year, G42 received a $1.5 billion investment from Microsoft to boost its international expansion plans and strengthen the UAE's position as a global technology hub. The expanded partnership also included the creation of a $1 billion fund to support developers aimed at enhancing the Middle East's technology talent pool. The deal marked an early signal of the AI push from the region and globally. Last month, it announced a partnership with technology giants OpenAI, Oracle and Nvidia to create a major AI hub in the UAE. As part of the agreement, the companies will set up Stargate UAE, expected to be the largest AI infrastructure outside the US. It will be a one-gigawatt computing cluster that operates in the newly established 5GW UAE–US AI Campus, Abu Dhabi Media office reported last month. Cisco and Japan's SoftBank will also be part of the new project. Earlier this month, the company announced that it has set up a new unit, named G42 Europe and UK to serve those markets as part of its expansion plans. Other deals unveiled by the company recently include a partnership with France's Mistral AI to develop advanced AI platforms and infrastructure, as well as a collaboration with Italian start-up iGenius to develop a major AI supercomputer. 'With plans for Europe's first giga-scale AI supercomputer and other projects under way in Kenya and the US, G42's footprint is now global,' Time magazine wrote. Last year, G42 said it would jointly invest $1 billion in Kenya's digital ecosystem to develop the East African nation's technology sector. This week, G42 celebrated its seventh anniversary with an event that featured virtual appearances by Microsoft president Brad Smith and OpenAI chief executive Sam Altman. Diriyah Diriyah Company, part of the kingdom's Public Investment Fund portfolio, is the second Saudi company to be recognised by Time, after Saudi Aramco in 2024. It is developing Diriyah, a $63.2 billion mixed-use development covering 14 square kilometres, near the Saudi capital, Riyadh. Maersk resumes Haifa port calls
Shipping company Maersk said on Friday it had decided to resume vessel calls at Israel's Haifa port. "With the prospect of current cease-fire agreement bringing de-escalation to the conflict, we have decided to resume vessel calls to the Port of Haifa, and acceptance for both import and export cargo is now open," Maersk said in a statement.
