"My voice wasn't heard": Lewis Hamilton meets Keir Starmer to drive education reform

Lewis Hamilton has met with the UK Prime Minister to discuss education reform, as the seven-time Formula 1 world champion furthers his commitment to his Mission 44 project. Hamilton, who last weekend finished sixth in the Spanish Grand Prix, joined a roundtable with Sir Keir Starmer and Secretary of State for Education Bridget Phillipson at 10 Downing Street to discuss how the UK government will work to support schools and pupils. It comes after Hamilton launched his own initiative in 2021 to develop a more inclusive future for young people around the world after admitting his own struggles during education. Hamilton launched the charity to help drive change and give access to children to pursue careers in STEM subjects at school and discussed a new framework for schools to increase pupil engagement so more young people are supported to achieve. Hamilton said: 'I struggled in school and never felt like my voice was heard, that's why I know first-hand that ensuring every student feels they belong in school is vital. Mission 44 'I'm grateful that off the back of this meeting, the government has committed to working with Mission 44 to enact change focused on making the education system more inclusive. I'm so proud of how far Mission 44 has come in such a short space of time and the opportunity we have to transform the lives of vulnerable students across the country.' In 2024, Hamilton said he has struggled with mental health issues for most of his life as a consequence of being bullied at school and the pressure of racing. I've struggled with mental health throughout my life. [I've had] depression. From a very early age, when I was, like, 13. I think it was the pressure of the racing and struggling at school. The bullying. I had no one to talk to.' During the F1 Miami GP, it was announced that Hamilton's Mission 44 was partnering with Ferrari title sponsors HP to provide young people in the UK and Miami with access to technology, training, digital skills, and mentorship, including a multi-year partnership to support two Miami-based organisations, which create career pathways and provide workforce development. Jodie Turner-Smith Shares Cryptic Message Amid Joshua Jackson Custody Drama

Jodie Turner-Smith appeared to shade her ex-husband, Joshua Jackson, amid a disagreement between the two over their daughter's schooling. Turner-Smith and Jackson share one child together, a 5-year-old named Juno. Jackson recently filed an emergency custody order modification ― according to documents obtained by People magazine ― over a development in Juno's education. The 'Dawson's Creek' actor alleges that Turner-Smith abruptly changed Juno's school without his permission. 'Jodie is attempting to create a scenario where Juno travels with her rather than attending a traditional school,' Jackson said in the documents. After news broke of the conflict between the two, Turner-Smith shared a post on Instagram that seemed to call out her ex-husband. The post includes animated photos of cartoon villains and reads ''Why don't you like that person? They seem so nice.' You know who else seemed to be nice.' Turner-Smith added her own commentary in her Instagram stories, writing '🤦🏾♀️ stay safe out there ⚠️.' Reps for Turner-Smith and Jackson did not immediately return HuffPost's requests for comment. The former couple married in December 2019, one year after meeting at Usher's 40th birthday party. Juno was born in April 2020. Turner-Smith would go on to file for divorce in October 2023, citing 'irreconcilable differences.' The 'Queen & Slim' actor previously shared that she doesn't view the two's marriage ending as a 'failure.' 'Sometimes things we really want to work just don't end up working. And that's OK,' she told the U.K.'s Sunday Times in an interview published in 2024. 'The most important thing is that you choose what's healthiest for you and your family and definitely your children.' Turner-Smith later shared that the former couple were going through an 'adjustment period' as they learned how to co-parent. 'Nobody hands you a manual,' the actor said in a candid chat with Glamour U.K. last year. 'Everyone's trying to figure it out. Each parent has a different life, and especially if the reason why you're splitting up is because you have different lives, it's only further complicated by how you're going to coparent.' James Cameron's New Fantasy Movie After Avatar: Fire and Ash Revealed

James Cameron has shared details about his new movie after Avatar: Fire and Ash, revealing a new collaboration on social media. The announcement involves a recent bestselling novel and marks his latest screenwriting partnership. James Cameron announced on Facebook that Lightstorm Entertainment has acquired the rights to Joe Abercrombie's novel The Devils. The book was published on May 6, 2025. It debuted at No. 1 on the Sunday Times bestseller list in the UK and reached No. 5 on the New York Times list. Cameron will co-write the film adaptation with Abercrombie after completing Avatar: Fire and Ash. In his post, Cameron wrote, 'I can't wait to dig into this as I wind down on Avatar: Fire and Ash. It will be a joyful new challenge for me to bring these indelible characters to life.' Describing the book, he said, 'A twisted, stylish, alt-universe middle-ages romp… The twists and turns come at a rollercoaster pace, and with Joe's signature acerbic wit and style.' He praised Abercrombie's storytelling as 'very cinematic,' noting that 'this adaptation will practically write itself.' Joe Abercrombie responded to the announcement, saying, 'James Cameron has been thrilling audiences, including me, by putting the impossible on film for over four decades.' He added, 'No one can balance mind-blowing action and spectacle with gut-wrenching personal stakes and story the way he does.' Cameron said he has followed Abercrombie's work for years but The Devils finally led him to pursue a collaboration. He wrote, 'The freshness of the world and the characters in The Devils finally got me off my butt to buy one of his books and partner with him to bring it to the screen.' Disney plans to release Cameron's Avatar: Fire and Ash on December 19, 2025.
