Driver in deadly Piedmont Cybertruck crash had cocaine, alcohol, meth in system
(KRON) — The Alameda County Sheriff's Office Coroner's Bureau has released toxicology reports following the Thanksgiving eve Tesla Cybertruck crash that killed three college students in Piedmont. The results show all three victims had multiple substances in their system at the time of the collision.
The victims were identified as 19-year-old Soren Dixon, 20-year-old Jack Nelson, and 19-year-old Krysta Tsukahara.

The Coroner's Bureau said Dixon, who was driving, had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.195%. Normal blood alcohol levels range from 0% to 0.05%.
The crash happened around 3 a.m. on Nov. 27 on Hampton Road. When Piedmont police arrived, they found the vehicle had crashed into a tree and was engulfed in flames. The Piedmont Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire.
The Coroner's Bureau determined that all three victims tested positive for ethanol, amphetamines, benzoylecgonine (a cocaine metabolite), cocaine, cocaethylene (a compound formed when alcohol and cocaine are used together), ecgonine methyl ester (another cocaine metabolite), and carboxyhemoglobin. Dixon was the only victim who also tested positive for methamphetamine.
The families of the victims shared a series of public statements after the incident. Dixon's family said he 'had a boundless enthusiasm for life and was known for his infectious smile, his love of family and friends, his passion for sports, and his deep affection for all animals.' Nelson's family described him as an athlete who loved the outdoors, often spending his free time on adventures from the ocean to the mountains. Tsukahara was a 2023 graduate of Piedmont High School and a sophomore at Savannah College of Art and Design.
At the time of this report, Piedmont police have not released updates on the fourth crash victim, whose identity has not been publicly released. Police last provided an update in early December that he was hospitalized in stable condition. Family friends said he suffered burn injuries before a good Samaritan pulled him from the wreckage.

San Leandro man slain while walking dog identified by authorities
Authorities identified the victim of San Leandro's first homicide of the year, who was shot and killed while walking his dog earlier this month. The man fatally shot was 47-year-old Ryan Christie of San Leandro, the Alameda County Sheriff's Office Coroner's Bureau said Friday. The shooting happened on June 14 around 8:30 a.m. near Euclid Avenue and East 14th Street. Upon arrival, officers found Christie lying on his back with his dog still leashed to his hand, police said. Christie appeared to suffer a gunshot wound in the back, police said. Christie's dog was not injured and later taken to a shelter, police said. Fat Joe claps back against ‘disgusting lies' amid allegations of coercion, sex with minors
Rapper Fat Joe took a stand on social media against allegations of coercion, intimidation and sex with minors that emerged last week in a lawsuit filed by his former hype man. The Bronx native (birth name Joseph Cartagena) broke his silence Wednesday in a statement on Instagram informing followers that he has 'been tested the last few months' with recent deaths in his family — and now legal woes. The 54-year-old musician said he is 'fighting against these disgusting lies' about his alleged behavior and promised, 'I will not break and I will NEVER back down.' Terrance 'T.A.' Dixon filed a federal lawsuit against his former employer last week, accusing Fat Joe of underpayment, swindling him out of pay for his contribution to album tracks, ditching him in foreign countries without money or transportation home and running a criminal organization built on intimidation and violence. The lawsuit also alleges that Fat Joe forced the hype man into approximately 4,000 sex acts with women in front of him and his team and accuses the rapper of having sexual relationships with girls who were 15 and 16. Fat Joe in his statement railed against people in his close circles who 'take my love and kindness for weakness' and claimed that 'people steal from me, grow jealous of me, lie on me.' He said ultimately he and his family face the fallout of betrayal. The 'All the Way Up' rapper did not name Dixon or explicitly relay the allegations against him but instead dwelled on how haters 'decide to go after one of the things you value the most — your reputation,' including by making up 'the most insane stories' as retaliation and taking their grievances to court. He said he won't be shaken down. 'I've never let anyone on the streets extort me, so how would I ever let a crooked attorney and coward ex-hype man extort me?? I'm from the Bronx!' he said. Fat Joe spoke out after his attorney Joe Tacopina dismissed Dixon's allegations as 'complete fabrications.' In April, the rapper sued Dixon for alleged slander after the former hype man accused him on social media of flying a 16-year-old across state lines for sex — hence the suggestion of retaliation. Dixon's attorney Tyrone Blackburn was also subject to Fat Joe's ire as the rapper promised 'we will finish you in court.' New York police arrested Blackburn on Wednesday; he was accused of hitting a process server with his car in New York City and booked on suspicion of assault, NBC News reported. Blackburn's lawyer told XXL the arrest seemed to be 'somewhat of a setup.' Fat Joe concluded his Instagram statement by asserting that the era of attorneys leveraging their 'law license as a badge to extort people and destroy families with no evidence is over!! In November 2021, five days before Thanksgiving, 13-year-old Iran Moreno sat in his California bedroom playing video games Then, across the street from his Pasadena home, a passenger exited a sedan and fired two shots, the Pasadena Police Department said in a June 25 news release shared on X, formerly known as Twitter. One bullet hit Iran, fatally injuring him, police said. His death rocked the community. 'As a father, I cannot fathom the unbearable anguish that Iran's parents are going through at this moment and the pain that they will live with for the rest of their lives,' Pasadena Mayor Victor M. Gordo said in a statement days after Iran's death. 'We as a community must all come together to embrace his family, friends and neighbors.' Gordo also asked that the community come forward with any information, 'no matter how small.' 'Our community must not stand for violence and, while seeking justice for their son can never take away the hole in their hearts, we pray it will bring some sense of relief for the Moreno family,' Gordo said. Nearly four years later, Iran's family is still searching for that sense of relief, but now new details offer hope. Police have released sketches of two people possibly connected to Iran's slaying in an effort to close the case. Few answers despite investigation In the months following Iran's death on Nov. 20, 2021, investigators pushed for answers. Police announced an $85,000 reward for information in the teen's slaying in March 2022. 'Pasadena Police Department Homicide Detectives have exhausted all leads into this senseless act of violence and are hoping this reward money will motivate anyone with crucial information about this murder to come forward,' police said. A year after Iran's death, police provided an update on his case, which included a photo of a potential suspect and car, described as a 2017 to 2020 Ford Fusion. 'Sadly, our investigative leads have not led us to those responsible for this cowardice murder,' police said, adding that they again were looking to the public for information to 'help to bring those responsible to justice on behalf of young Iran Moreno.' 'There's just something absent' Iran's mother, Lourdes Moreno, told Pasadena Weekly last June that his death left a 'vacancy' in their family. 'Although we are all together, there's just something absent,' she told the newspaper. 'Although we are all united, it doesn't feel right.' She described him as being a 'positive kid,' who was 'always happy, never upset, and had a positive outlook on life,' according to the newspaper. 'He was a loving kid who loved life,' she told the outlet. 'He did not deserve this.' New details offer hope Police said they again released new details in Iran's case to the public June 16. The information included 'specific details about the shooter's clothing (a red and black The North Face hoodie) and the recently obtained, partial license plate of the Ford Fusion,' police said. 'This information proved to be crucial,' police said. Using details from the tips they received, police said investigators identified a 'specific vehicle' from the narrowing in on the car, investigators traced 'its movements before and after' the shooting, according to police. Detectives were also able to create sketches of two people seen with the Ford Fusion at the time, police said. The suspected shooter is described as being between the ages of 33 and 37, standing about 6 feet tall and weighing between 185 to 195 pounds, police said, adding that he was seen 'wearing a red and black The North Face hoodie.' The second suspect, a getaway driver, is described as being a woman between the ages of 27 to 31, who stands between 5 feet 3 inches to 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs between 165 and 185 pounds, according to police. Detectives think the car and suspects are linked to Pasadena, San Jose and Alameda County, police said. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 626-744-4241.
