Has Emma Raducanu found a love match with dashing fellow-teenage protege she has known since she was six?
Tennis fans wondering how Emma Raducanu blazed back to British No 1 ranking at Queen's this week should take a look at her support team.
Roaring her on as she reached the quarter-finals was not just her coach Nick Cavaday and agent Thomas Houchin, but a dashing former tennis protege close to her heart, Benjamin Heynold.
He and Raducanu, 22, have known each other since the age of six and have represented Team GB together.
Heynold, 24, is a student at the the University of North Carolina in the US and friends suggest that his long friendship with Emma may have turned to romance.
Raducanu split up with her Harrow-educated boyfriend, Carlo Agostinelli, last year.
Agostinelli, a former head boy of pricey private school Harrow, is the son of tycoon Robert Agostinelli, the co-founder and chairman of private equity firm Rhone Group.
The tennis star's year-long whirlwind romance with him was said to have been her most serious relationship yet.
She previously revealed that she wasn't allowed to date while growing up in Bromley, South East London, which made her resent her strict her parents, Ion and Renee Raducanu.
'My parents were very much against [boyfriends] as it interfered with training,' she told The Times.
'When I was younger I wasn't even allowed to hang out with my girl friends.
'A lot of the time I was very resentful.
'But it made me very confident and comfortable in my own company, which is also a big strength.'
Having changed coaches seven times in the space of four years as she tried to recapture the form that saw her win a Grand Slam at the 2021 US Open, perhaps Benjamin is her ace?
Heynold watched on as Raducanu bowed out in the Queen's quarter-finals with a 6-2 6-4 loss to Chinese first-seed Qinwen Zheng.
Raducanu, who officially supplants Katie Boulter as British number one on Monday, planned for next week's Berlin Open to be the next step on her quest to secure seeding at Wimbledon, but required an off-court medical time out before the second set concerning her ongoing back issues.
The 22-year-old was the last Briton standing in this new WTA 500 event, the first time women's tennis had been played at Queen's since 1973.
'I'm not overly concerned that it's something serious, but I know it's something that's very annoying and needs proper and careful management,' said Raducanu, who revealed she had been taped up for stability and took some painkillers.
Quizzed about whether she was a fitness doubt for Wimbledon, she replied: 'Well, I don't know. Like it's been lingering for the last few weeks, and I have had, like, back issues before. I think it's just a vulnerability of mine. I know I need to take good care of it.'
The new British number one confirmed coach Mark Petchey will be able to join her should the Berlin plan go ahead, but does not know if former coach Nick Cavaday, who stepped back in January due to ill health, will also be on the trip after joining her in London this week.
Raducanu conceded that making the seeding cut for Wimbledon 'obviously helps' when it comes to swerving difficult draws in the early rounds, but added: 'I think maybe my goals have slightly shifted from being seeded to actually improving my game.
'When I play those top players, making it closer and feeling more competitive rather than just feeling, 'OK, I maybe get to the third round of a slam but then lose comfortably to one of the top'.

New Derbyshire FA boss wants to crack down on bad behaviour
The new boss of the Derbyshire Football Association (FA) has said one of his main priorities is to reduce bad behaviour at grassroots executive Liam Rooney said "we will work together and try different approaches" to tackle bad behaviour by players and comes after national FA data showed there were 95 allegations of assaults and attempted assaults on referees in 2023-24, compared to 72 during the 2022-23 Rooney, who has also been a referee for the past eight years, said: "One of the reasons I got involved with this role is due to the levels of abuse [referees] were suffering and I wanted to go out there and see what's going on." FA data also showed the number of serious case allegations, including those against players and match officials, rose 17% from 3,636 to 4, while the number of FA charges brought following the allegations rose from 2,263 to 2,561, there was a 1% decrease in the number of proven serious cases. The new chief executive said tackling poor behaviour was a "key priority" as well as "carrying on" the development of Derbyshire's leagues, clubs, referees and Rooney said: "We will not accept it, we need players, coaches and parents have a responsibility to behave."The only way we can overcome that barrier is to work together and try different approaches." 'I want to be out there' Mr Rooney, who began his career with Derbyshire FA in 2008, said he was giving his "full focus" on his new role and would be stepping back from his refereeing duties."This will enable me to get out and speak to many leagues and clubs within Derbyshire", said Mr Rooney. "I'm not a CEO that sits behind a desk, I want to be out there talking to everybody about what the challenges are, what the successes are and what people need from us as a county FA. "My role might have changed but I'm not going to change" he said. "I'm still going to be out there, I'm still going to have those relationships and listen to our volunteers, referees, players, parents and coaches and support them going forward."

Heanor darts shop success down to 'Luke Littler boom'
"Darts has historically been an old man's game in a smoky back room of a pub, but it's not like that anymore."That is the view of darts enthusiast Ryan Clarke - from his shop in Heanor, Derbyshire, which he opened in March, he has seen that change first hand. He attributes the massive surge in popularity in part to one man - Luke 'The Nuke' Littler - who became the youngest ever PDC World Darts Champion in January, aged 17."Some days we can't comprehend how busy it has been," Mr Clarke said, "a big part of it is what Littler has done." The 2024 PDC World Darts final - where a then 16-year-old Littler lost 7-4 to Luke Humphries - saw a peak of 3.71 million people tune in to watch. This was up from 1.9 million the year surge in popularity has benefitted Mr Clarke's shop, he described the response in visitors as "absolutely unbelievable"."Personally, I think without the boom of Luke Littler, I don't know if we'd be here 100%."He added that there were "a lot of great players out there at there minute but the things that Luke's done for the sport is great." A roofer by trade, Mr Clarke has played darts for about 15 years and takes part in a local league. The 32-year-old does not drink and wanted to practice and play in an environment without alcohol. "That is part of the reason why we set this up - just for a different environment and space to be playing darts in rather than having to go to the pub and everything that goes with it."He has also seen a change in the clientele."That's the beauty of this sport," he said. "Because everybody can play on a similar sort of level if the practice is put in... it's so inclusive, I think that's why it's also taken off in the way it has."
