Wendy Guevara Joins ‘Desiguales' As Co-Host At TelevisaUnivision & Makes Trans History
Wendy Guevara has joined Desiguales as the sixth co-host of TelevisaUnivision's daytime talk show.
Guevara, who made history as the first transgender person to win a reality TV show in Mexico when she took the crown of La Casa de los Famosos México Season 1, will join Adamari López, Amara La Negra, Dr. Nancy Álvarez, Karina Banda, and Migbelis Castellanos.

Desiguales is a daytime talk show similar to The View. It brings together a group of women from different backgrounds to discuss social and pop culture topics. Guevera makes history as the first trans woman to host the show.

Guevera joins Desiguales amid a harrowing political climate and a White House administration taking shots at the transgender community. Donald Trump recently signed an executive order directing the Pentagon to determine a policy for transgender service members. Days later, the U.S. Army posted on X they would 'no longer allow transgender individuals to join the military and will stop performing or facilitating procedures associated with gender transition for service members.'
Although Desiguales doesn't rely heavily on political topics like its Telemundo counterpart, La Mesa Caliente, having Guevera on one of its most popular shows gives the trans community visibility on the major Spanish-language network.

"The whole pregnancy we were just picturing a more brown baby considering Black is our most dominant race between us," she continued. "So when he came out blonde hair, blue eyes we had to ask ourselves who he inherited his features from. Sure enough it was grandma!" Smith's clip went viral within a few days of posting. Pinned to her profile, the 20-second clip has been viewed over 312,000 times. Dozens of users commented, many of whom shared their own stories of how genetics have played out in their children. "Mine are opposite! One-quarter Black, three-quarters white. They're all 4 different, but you can tell they're all siblings," one user wrote. "My daughter is half Black, one-quarter Mexican, one-quarter white. She has natural blonde 4a hair," another shared. "My kids are one-quarter Black and three-quarters white and they both didn't get my blue eyes. But my daughter did get light brown straight hair and their dad and I both have dark curly hair. You just never know!"

The event peaked at 764,389 live concurrent viewers across the WWE and WWE Espańol YouTube channels during the main event between AAA Mega Champion El Hijo del Vikingo and WWE superstar Chad Gable. Still available to watch for free on YouTube, the show, which received rave reviews from fans of both companies as well as journalists from around the world, Saturday's broadcast has been watched by more than 4.1 million viewers on YouTube in the first 24 hours. On X, #WorldsCollide was the No. 1 trending topic globally on Saturday, and WWE generated more than 32 million social views across all platforms in the first 24 hours. S.F. gets rare tropical dishes, plus more recent restaurant openings
From short rib gnocchi to homestyle Mexican platters, San Francisco diners have a slew of new exciting spots to check out for dinner. The latest from the former chef at a Michelin-starred seafood restaurant, a modern Colombian restaurant and a pizza spot that's already impossible to get into are early highlights. There are also new places to caffeinate near Golden Gate Park and Jackson Square. Click here for a list of San Francisco restaurants that opened in April. Tropical popup graduates to fixed location Colombian coastal cuisine popup Pacifico is now serving ceviches and arepas in a dedicated space. Eater SF first reported the project from Daniel Morales, an alum of the Progress and La Mar, and partner Laura Gelvez. Brunch dishes include pancakes made of choclo, a South American corn varietal with large kernels. There are also beefy empanadas and arepas filled with Dungeness crab and egg. Dinner service is expected to start early June. Parker Brown, a former chef at shuttered seafood temple Aphotic (which may resurface), and his wife, Caroline, aim to keep the mood casual, with bottles of Miller High Life and straightforward wine list. The Browns hope these elements, plus live DJ sets, set a mood akin to a dinner party. The space where Ritual Coffee served lattes in the Lower Haight did not sit empty for long.
