Leicester Tigers leapfrogged Bristol Bears into second spot in the Premiership with an exhilarating, and at times frantically captivating, victory at Ashton Gate.A no-look, behind-the-back pass from Kalaveti Ravouvou that set Gabriel Ibitoye up for Bristol's only first-half try was the highlight of an absorbing opening 40 minutes that Tigers otherwise dominated through tries from Adam Radwan, Ollie Hassell-Collings and Jack van Poortvliet.Handre Pollard added a penalty to those three touchdowns to put Leicester 22-5 up at the break.Tigers were down to 14 men, with Joe Heyes in the sin-bin, when Ravouvou grabbed the host's second try after the break.Freddie Steward appeared to put the result beyond the Bears' reach with a bonus-point try for Tigers just after the hour mark, but a Harry Randall score in response and Solomone Kata's yellow card for Leicester made it a nervy finish before Cameron Henderson completed the win in the final minute. That final try had Tigers head coach Michael Cheika and his coaching staff on their feet in celebration as it took them from fifth in the table and up to second on points difference.More to follow.

Callum Osmand can be Celtic punisher as Marco Silva gives Brendan Rodgers the key to unlock potential
Osmand is set to join the Premiership champions from Fulham as the Hoops take advantage of cross border transfers yet again Marco Silva has told Celtic how to get the best out of incoming new signing Callum Osmand. The Fulham starlet is set to follow in Moussa Dembele 's footsteps and make the move from Craven Cottage to Parkhead as the Premiership champions once again take advantage of cross border transfers for Under 21 payers. They will land the 19-year-old for training compensation and the Welsh youth international is understood to have already completed his Hoops medical. Cottagers boss Marco Silva rates Osmand highly, and promoted him to train with the first team and take his place on the bench towards the end of last season, although he wasn't given an English Premier League run out. And if the Portuguese's comments on Osmand are anything to go by, he will be disappointed to lose him, although the reason for leaving is exactly what Silva said the youngster needed after bringing him into the top team fold at Fulham. And he reckons a strike partner will allow Brendan Rodgers to see Osmand at his full potential further down the line. 'It's not his first time he's been with us," said Silva towards the end of the 2024/25 campaign. "Last season, he had some sessions with us, pre-season too, and the beginning of the season. "He is much more mobile [than a traditional centre forward], let's see if he is going to have a chance or not to play some minutes, but he is going to have a chance to train much more with us, to be much more involved with the first team. 'He needs more senior football in his legs to see how he can adapt, perform. He's got the profile that I like. When he has a chance, he can punish the opposition. "I can see the talent, in a position that is very difficult to play in the Premier League. Probably if you play another striker by his side … you will take the best from him. Let's hope we can help him to be ready for the Premier League.'

Hibs striker Kieron Bowie has been called into the Scotland squad for the first time after national team head coach Steve Clarke picked 25 players for next month's friendlies against Iceland and Liechtenstein. Clarke was at Easter Road to watch Bowie score for Hibs against Rangers and was no doubt impressed by the 22-year-old, who has previously been a mainstay for the under-21 squad. The former Raith and Fulham hitman joined Hibs last summer and despite suffering a serious hamstring issue, has helped the Easter Road side finish third in the Premiership. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Bowie is one of five forwards named in the squad alongside Torino's Che Adams, Middlesbrough hitman Tommy Conway, Ipswich's George Hirst and Hearts teenager James Wilson, who won his first cap for Scotland back in March. Angus Gunn, who is a free agent after leaving Norwich this summer, Kilmarnock's Robby McCrorie and Ipswich's Cieran Slicker are the three goalkeepers in the squad. Uncapped left-sided defender Josh Doig returns to set-up after helping Sassuolo wing Serie B, while Everton's Nathan Patterson is back after more than a year's absence due to hamstring issues. Ryan Christie of Bournemouth and Kenny McLean of Norwich are both injured. West Ham's Andy Irving keeps his spot in the midfield ranks. Nilson Angulo Celtic transfer bid 'rejected' as second attempt could be made for Anderlecht winger
The Ecuador international has enjoyed a breakthrough season in Belgium and is attracting interest from elsewhere Anderlecht have reportedly knocked back a Celtic bid for winger Nilson Angulo. However, the Premiership champions could try again with another offer according to StudioFutbol in Ecuador. The 21-year-old was a regular for the Belgians in the Jupiler Pro League last season, featuring 29 teams for the first team, making six Europa League outings. The Ecuadorian arrived at the Brussels club from LDU Quito in July 2022 for €1.9m. His rise from the Anderlecht second string has been relatively rapid, with Angulo already winning five full caps for his country. With two years left to run on his contract, Les Mauve et Blanc are in a strong negotiating position and will likely be looking for multiples of their initial outlay in order to let him go. Celtic have proven they aren't scared to pay the going rate for talent if they think they can develop stars further and reap the rewards down the line. Brendan Rodgers convinced the Parkhead board to shell out a club record fee of £11million for Arne Engels last summer, although it's unlikely to require similar numbers to land Angulo. Reports in the player's homeland claim other European clubs are interested, however.
