The Atlanta Hawks made some strides this season despite not making the playoffs for the second straight season. Zaccharie Risacher continued to grow throughout the season, and his future looks bright.

This offseason will be crucial for the Hawks if they want to continue to improve, and they've been trying to find a president of basketball operations to work alongside new general manager Onsi Saleh to help with the process.

On Monday, ESPN's Shams Charania announced that the Hawks had made two key hires for their front office.
"The Atlanta Hawks and new General Manager Onsi Saleh are finalizing deals to hire New Orleans Pelicans GM Bryson Graham as the team's Senior VP of Basketball Operations and Philadelphia 76ers executive Peter Dinwiddie as Senior VP of Strategy and Analytics, sources tell ESPN," Charania wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
Graham started as an intern for the Pelicans and worked his way up to the GM role, where he helped draft players such as Trey Murphy III, Herb Jones, Jose Alvarado and others. He also helped draft Daniels, who was with the Pelicans until he got traded to the Hawks last offseason.

Dinwiddie has worked with the Philadelphia 76ers front office since 2020 and spent 14 seasons with the Indiana Pacers. Both Graham and Dinwiddie are set to report to Saleh as part of the Hawks' new front office structure.

Paul Skenes Makes Unfortunate MLB History Following Pirates Game
Paul Skenes Makes Unfortunate MLB History Following Pirates Game originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Pittsburgh Pirates haven't had the season they hoped for so far, but one undeniable bright spot has been second-year ace Paul Skenes. Advertisement Despite Skenes' dominance nearly every time he takes the mound, he's received minimal run support from the Pirates' offense — and it's now led to a shocking piece of unfortunate MLB history following his outing against the Chicago Cubs on Friday afternoon. Skenes threw five shutout innings, allowing just four hits and recording five strikeouts. However, with the game still tied 0-0 after five, he was once again ineligible for the win — a frustrating trend throughout much of his season. According to CBS Sports' Doug Clawson, Skenes now holds the fewest wins (4) by any pitcher with a sub-2.00 ERA through their first 15 career starts in the live-ball era, which dates back to 1920. Paul Skenes has been a dominant force since the moment he reached the majors after being drafted out of LSU. Unfortunately for the Pirates, they've failed to surround him with adequate offensive support — a reality that's been reflected in both his win-loss record and the team's overall performance. Advertisement Pittsburgh entered Friday's divisional matchup against the Cubs with a 28–42 record, sitting in last place in the NL Central. Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Paul Skenes (30.© Kyle Ross-Imagn Images Skenes currently holds a 4–6 record despite a stellar 1.88 ERA over 15 starts and 96.0 innings pitched. He's also posted an impressive 3.6 WAR, 0.835 WHIP, and 97 strikeouts — numbers that rank among the league's best. Amid his standout season, there has been growing speculation about whether the Pirates should consider trading Skenes while his value is arguably the highest of any pitcher in baseball. NBA Fans Fear Retirement After LeBron James' 7-Word Message
NBA Fans Fear Retirement After LeBron James' 7-Word Message originally appeared on Athlon Sports. LeBron James has enjoyed a career for the ages—four NBA championships, four MVPs, 21 All-Star selections, and the title of the league's all-time leading scorer. At 40, he continued to defy Father Time with averages of 24.4 points (51.3% FG), 7.8 rebounds, and 8.2 assists this season, earning All-NBA Second Team honors and a sixth-place finish in MVP voting. Advertisement The 2024-25 campaign set historic milestones for James: playing alongside his son Bronny James, breaking the triple-double record for a 40-year-old, and surpassing 50,000 career points. Despite these highs, the Los Angeles Lakers were ousted in the first round by the Minnesota Timberwolves, fueling fresh speculation about his future. Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James (23)Kiyoshi Mio-Imagn Images On Saturday, he ignited the rumor mill again with a social media clip from a press conference. In the video, James was asked if the retirement rumors were true, with the video ending in a dramatic cut-to-black. His caption read: 'I've been asking myself the same question… 🤔👑 #ad' Advertisement Due to James indicating this is an advertisement, it seems very unlikely this is how he is teasing retirement, but fans have still been reacting in the comments. 'I can speak for every NBA fan when LeBron retires the league won't be the same 💔,' one fan wrote. 'Quit playing bro 💔,' another fan added. 'Laker fans in shambles 👀,' a third fan said 'Don't joke like that king you got a couple seasons left in you,' another fan remarked. 'Dont scare me like that,' another fan posted. "My GOAT about to announce his retirement tour," said another. Despite the cryptic social media tease, it appears increasingly likely that James will return next season. His legacy is secure, but the curtain may soon fall on one of the greatest careers in NBA history. Insider Suggests 2-Time Champ, Longest-Tenured NBA Coach as Knicks' Next Leader
Insider Suggests 2-Time Champ, Longest-Tenured NBA Coach as Knicks' Next Leader originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The New York Knicks appear to have fired head coach Tom Thibodeau absent an adequate plan to replace him, and the embarrassments have racked up in the aftermath. Advertisement In just a matter of days, five competing teams around the league have denied requests from the Knicks to interview their current head coaches: Dallas Mavericks-Jason Kidd, Houston Rockets-Ime Udoka, Minnesota Timberwolves-Chris Finch, Chicago Bulls-Billy Donovan and Atlanta Hawks-Quin Snyder, per The Athletic. Considering all the swings and misses thus far, Zach Lowe of The Ringer suggested on the Thursday, June 12 edition of "The Bill Simmons Podcast" that the Knicks reach out to the Miami Heat and inquire about interviewing head coach Erik Spoelstra -- widely considered among the best in the league for the last several years. Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra.© Sam Navarro-Imagn Images "If you were Leon Rose, or whoever is making the calls ... would you even have the guts, the gall, the audacity to call Pat Riley?" Lowe asked Simmons. "Just to do it. Like, 'Hey, we gotta check the [Spoelstra] box. We gotta see. Don't we have to see?'" Advertisement Spoelstra is now the longest-tenured head coach in the NBA after Gregg Popovich left his job leading the San Antonio Spurs' sideline earlier this year following a serious health concern. The Heat hired Spoelstra in April 2008. He has led Miami to six appearances in the NBA Finals and two championship rings over his 17 years at the helm, amassing a career regular-season record of 787-572. While Miami struggled to earn a spot in the first round of playoffs this season, fighting its way to the No. 8 overall seed via the NBA's Eastern Conference play-in tournament only to get swept by the Cleveland Cavaliers in four games, the Knicks earned a spot in the Eastern Conference Finals. New York fell two games shy of an NBA Finals appearance, losing to the Indiana Pacers 4-2. The Pacers currently lead the Oklahoma City Thunder 2-1 with Game 4 of scheduled for Friday, June 13, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
