50 Shades of Green: Anthony Pratt slays the Met Gala red carpet
We can now say with confidence that cardboard-box recycling billionaire Anthony Pratt at the Met Gala was easily this weekend's most successful Green.
Not because of any affiliation with the troubled environmental political party, but because the chair of Visy and Pratt Industries served an arresting, green-themed look at the Met Gala fundraiser that we describe as clashing in confidence.
CBD loves a clashing print (heck, any sort of clash is good copy). So we were pleased to see Pratt's suit teamed with the green theme and heroes the 'Pratt 100% Recycled' decals that were such a feature of last year's Met Gala Willy Wonka pink suit.
Pratt repeated the mix of lime, green and lemon decals on a bright green shirt and tie, in contrasting styles so bold they risked triggering our photopsias.
Pratt offset his two-piece suit with a dark-green hat and cane. But he swapped out last year's Balenciaga runners for more sensible Brooks sneakers, potentially sourced from the House of Rupert Murdoch.
Throwing together the fashion fundraiser at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York – world's silliest 'look at me' event – with a billionaire's concept of fashion invokes CBD trepidation. Clearly, the event's theme of 'Superfine: Tailoring Black Style' was a tricky and ultimately impossible brief for the chair of Visy and Pratt Industries, who went solidly for 50 Shades of Green despite his personal colour palette not screaming 'spring'.
Pratt, who now has a US green card and has an honorary title of Kentucky Colonel, was accompanied by his sister and Visy deputy chair Fiona Geminder. The family wealth is put at $25 billion.
The pair's last big social function mentioned in dispatches was a lavish Visy party in March for the packaging industry and clients in a massive marquee at the Pratt family mansion of Raheen in Melbourne's Kew. Air Supply and DJ Mark Ronson performed, while Prime Minister Anthony Albanese flew all the way from Sydney just to give a short speech. Peter Dutton was an apology.

Miley Cyrus felt like a misfit at Met Gala
Miley Cyrus felt like a "misfit" at this year's Met Gala. The 'Flowers' hitmaker - who wore an Alaïa custom leather crop top and floor-length skirt accessorised with Cartier diamonds for her first appearance at the annual fashion extravaganza since 2019 - was seated with "strangers" during the dinner portion of the event and although she is "fine" with that, she admitted she felt out of her comfort zone. Speaking on 'The Interview' podcast, she said: 'I'm sitting with strangers. "I sat this year with Cartier. I was wearing Alaïa—who does not have a table—so I was kind of the misfit, which I'm always OK with. 'I'm used to that, it was fine, but it's just an interesting situation because everything that makes you comfortable is taken from you.' Miley offered a suggestion to Met Gala organisers for the future. She said: "I think they should add that you get a plus one for your stylist... "I sat with a bunch of people that I didn't really know, but I always make friends there." The 32-year-old star quickly bonded with singer Jon Batiste. She said: "I thought he was so cool. He was my most memorable guest, I sat and talked to him forever, he's super awesome. "He like sat down and the first thing he asked me was, 'What's your favourite key to sing in?' Which no one's ever asked me before. 'He goes, 'I'm guessing it's a G or a C, but I think F would probably be your ceiling.' Right away, I'm like, 'You're my friend.'' 'He was right—G and C.' Meanwhile, Miley has ruled out following other famous faces and launching her own make-up line because it isn't her passion. She told the New York Times: "I was talking to my stepdad and he was like 'Why are you the only celebrity without a make-up line?' and I said 'Because I'm not passionate about it'. And he said, 'That's the right answer.'" In fact, when the 'Easy Lover' hitmaker - who has just released her ninth studio album 'Something Beautiful' - doesn't even wear make-up when she is at home and insisted that her own "persona" is very different to how the public sees her. She said: "I don't think it's so much of a conscious choice. My persona or the public's idea of me is on in some way but in my own time, I am very off. "I like no make-up, my hair up messy. I don't even look in the mirror in my own time. "

Sabrina Carpenter seemingly takes a swipe at ex Barry Keoghan on new song Manchild
Sabrina Carpenter is set to release the new song, 'Manchild', seemingly aimed at her ex-boyfriend Barry Keoghan. The 'Espresso' hitmaker, 26, took to Instagram to share a clip of her hitch-hiking in a cheeky pair of denim hot pants to announce the new track, which is out Thursday (05.06.25). Although she didn't name the 'Saltburn' actor, 32, she hinted in the caption: 'this one's about you!! 'Manchild' is out this Thursday 6/5 (sic)" The exes were first linked in late 2023 and made their relationship public at the Met Gala in May 2024, before they split in December 2024. The new song follows Sabrina's 2024 Grammy-winning 'Short n' Sweet' album, which was followed by February's deluxe edition, which featured a duet of 'Please Please Please' with Dolly Parton and a new song called 'Busy Woman'. Meanwhile, the pint-sized pop star is being lined up to star in 'Mamma Mia! 3'. The 'Taste' hitmaker is wanted by producer Judy Craymer to star in the third movie based on the ABBA musical of the same name in a role connected to the late Donna Sheridan–Carmichael (Meryl Streep). Craymer told Deadline: "She'd be a goddess or some relation who would look very much like Meryl Streep." Sabrina is known to be a huge fan of ABBA and has performed some of the legendary Swedish group's hits on her 'Short n' Sweet Tour'.
