US issues global travel alert amid soaring Middle East tensions
The US on Monday advised its citizens globally to exercise increased caution due to escalating tensions in the Middle East, noting that the conflict there could expose American travelers and residents to heightened security risks.
In its security statement, the US Department of State confirmed that, 'The conflict between Israel and Iran has caused travel disruptions and frequent airspace closures in the region.'
The department also indicated the potential for demonstrations targeting US citizens and interests abroad.
The State Department recommended that all Americans must enhance their vigilance while traveling or residing outside the country.
The statement did not address the specific American role in the conflict, particularly the attacks targeting nuclear facilities inside Iran, which came amidst warnings from Tehran about 'irreparable' consequences.
Iran has vowed to retaliate for the recent American strikes, which the Pentagon claimed inflicted significant damage on the Iranian nuclear program.

Egyptian Restaurants React: Iran-Israel War
From Abou Tarek's koshary missile to B Laban's sugar-fueled strikes and Ahmed Neda's charcoal warfare, Egypt's food scene has officially joined the fray - armed with carbs, AI, and unapologetic chaos. Jun 23, 2025 In these uncertain times, some people protest, others post solidarity infographics. But Egypt's food brands? They're launching rockets. Of carbs. Leading the charge was none other than koshary overlord Abou Tarek, who briefly posted an AI-generated image of a 'Koshary Missile' - yes, with lentils, pasta, and patriotic propulsion. Captioned 'Coming soon to markets,' the post detonated in the comment section, setting off an explosion of online outrage, press coverage from actual Israeli media, and eventually, a very sheepish delete. Meanwhile, B Laban - never one to miss a sugar-fuelled stunt - dropped a 'Fattaka' dessert (blueberry, cheesecake, and whatever chaos remains in the lab fridge) backed by Twitter screenshots from Iranian accounts. It's dessert diplomacy with a dairy twist. Then there's Ahmed Nada, meat master and grill enthusiast, who decided to go full blockbuster. His latest ad spliced sizzling kebab fire with missile launch visuals in what can only be described as Call of Duty: Lamb Ops. Unsurprisingly, Israeli bloggers clocked in with reactions ranging from confusion to cautious obsession.

UNSC condemns strikes on Iran nuclear sites but avoids naming US - Region
The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has condemned airstrikes on Iran's nuclear sites as a 'grave threat' to global peace, but stopped short of naming the United States as responsible. In a statement released following an emergency session requested by Iran, the Council said it 'condemns in the strongest terms the attacks against peaceful nuclear sites and facilities under the IAEA safeguards in the Islamic Republic of Iran,' calling the strikes a serious threat to the International Atomic Energy Agency's (AEA) oversight system. The condemnation follows US airstrikes on Iran's Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan nuclear facilities amid escalating tensions triggered by the Israel–Iran war. It is the Security Council's third meeting since Israel launched attacks on Iranian territory on 13 June. Citing Article 2(4) of the UN Charter — which prohibits the use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state — the Council also recalled Resolution 487, adopted in 1981 after Israel bombed Iraq's Osirak reactor in a pre-emptive strike to prevent the development of nuclear weapons. The statement called for an 'immediate and unconditional ceasefire' and urged all parties to avoid further escalation. It also reiterated the need to protect civilians and civilian infrastructure and reminded all sides of their obligations under international humanitarian and human rights law. On the nuclear issue, the Council urged a diplomatic solution 'acceptable to all parties' that would guarantee the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear programme in exchange for the lifting of both multilateral and unilateral sanctions. The UN secretary general has been tasked with reporting back within seven days on developments and implementation of the Council's demands. The Council said it would remain 'actively seized' of the matter. Follow us on: Facebook Instagram Whatsapp Short link:

Iran says arrests 'European' accused of spying for Israel - Region
Iranian authorities arrested on Monday a European national on suspicion of spying for Israel, state TV reported, as fighting raged between the foes for the 11th day. State television cited judicial authorities as saying that a spy for Israel was arrested in the western province of Hamadan, adding that the "spy is a citizen of a European country", without elaborating. "The spy entered the country disguised as a tourist and continued the mission of networking, gathering information, and disrupting offensive and missile systems in Iran," it added. Fighting between Iran and Israel erupted on June 13 after Israel launched devastating strikes on the Islamic republic. Iran has since vowed swift trials for people arrested on suspicion of collaborating with Israel. Iranian media has reported multiple arrests of individuals accused of spying for Israel in several parts of Iran. Authorities have meanwhile announced the execution of several people convicted of collaborating with Israel's spy agency, the Mossad. On Friday, media reported that another European national was arrested on suspicion of espionage. Mehr news agency later that day published a video saying the Revolutionary Guards took in custody a German national in Markazi province, west of Tehran. It said he was suspected of being "a spy who had entered Iran disguised as a tourist". He was also accused of approaching an "ammunition depot, an army barracks, missile tunnels and an air base to get information from them". Follow us on: Facebook Instagram Whatsapp Short link:
