Sophie Choudry shared a disturbing incident where a man flashed at her in Bandra, Mumbai. Calling it 'disgusting,' she also opened up about inappropriate fan behavior.
Singer and actress Sophie Choudry recently opened up about a disturbing experience that took place in one of Mumbai's poshest localities—Bandra. In a candid chat with Hauterrfly, Sophie recounted a moment that left her stunned and disgusted: a man flashed her in broad daylight.
'It happened just a month ago," Sophie began, visibly unsettled. 'I was driving through a lane in Bandra when I noticed a man literally unzipping and putting everything on display. It was shocking." She added that while it was appalling, such incidents are not isolated. 'I don't even think some men realise what they're doing. Sometimes, it's so casual for them, like it's not even criminal. There have been times when men have stopped their bikes while I was walking in Khar and just exposed themselves."
Sophie pointed out that this wasn't the first time she'd experienced such vile behavior. 'The first time someone flashed at me was when I was a schoolgirl in London. It happens across the world, but that doesn't make it any less horrifying."
The conversation took a wider turn when Sophie highlighted the everyday challenges of being a public figure, especially when it comes to personal space and boundaries. 'One thing celebs deal with constantly is fans who want photos. And while that's totally okay, there are those who try to use that moment to get too close. They'll pretend it's innocent and try to slip their hand around your waist," she said.
Sophie, however, has a clear boundary. 'Now, the first thing I say when someone asks for a photo is, 'No hands.' My team is also very alert about this. I'm happy to pose with you, respectfully, but you don't get to touch me. That's not part of the deal."
Over the years, Sophie Choudry has carved a unique identity in the entertainment industry. She began her career as a singer and quickly gained popularity with chartbusters like Habibi, Le Le Mera Dil, and Babylove. Her distinctive voice and glamorous presence made her a staple at music awards and live events.
Sophie ventured into Bollywood with David Dhawan's Shaadi No. 1 and followed it up with notable appearances in Pyaar Ke Side Effects, Shootout at Wadala, and Once Upon Ay Time in Mumbai Dobaara!. In 2014, she entered the reality TV space with Bigg Boss 8, and later danced her way through Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7. Though she may have exited those shows early, her impact has been lasting.
Courageous and vocal, Sophie continues to use her platform to advocate for dignity, safety, and respect for women—not just in showbiz, but everywhere.

Sunita Ahuja blames Govinda's 'circle' for derailing career: 'Tumhe aage badne nahi denge ye log'

Sunita Ahuja, the wife of Govinda delivered a fiery and unapologetic critique of the actor's inner circle, accusing them of stunting his career. The 'Hero No 1' actor who was on top of his game in the 90s, hasn't had a major hit at the box office in recent years. "Why has Govinda not been seen in 17 years? The problem is that his circle, is a wrong one."Speaking to The Powerful Humans, Sunita criticised and squarely placed blame on what she called a 'wrong circle' surrounding the Hero No. 1 star. She went on to reveal, "Today my fights with him are because I can't lie and I do not appreciate flattery." Without taking names, she took shots at his four-member team saying, "Today he has four people - a writer, musician, secretary and a lawyer friend. They are of no use. They only say "wah, wah!" If he makes music, they say "wah, wah... kalam kar diya." They should tell him the truth. When I tell him the truth, he gets upset." Sunita went on to say that while the world has moved into the era of OTT and evolving storytelling, Govinda continues to cling to the nostalgic style of the 1990s. 'I tell him the 90s era is over. It is 2025. Look at what's working on Netflix and digital platforms. But he stays with his 'wah, wah production',' she remarked. According to her, the problem isn't a lack of talent or relevance—Govinda remains a beloved figure in Indian cinema—but rather, it's his unwillingness to break free from a feedback loop of empty praise and outdated strategies. 'I told him, change your circle. For as long as you have these 4–5 people, they won't let you go forward,' she warned. Govinda, a superstar in the 80s and 90s with iconic hits like Coolie No. 1, Partner, and Dulhe Raja, has made only sporadic appearances in recent years. His last notable release was Rangeela Raja in 2019, which failed to make a mark at the box office. The explosive comments have gone viral—sparking renewed conversation about the actor's long absence from the big screen. Simaran Kaur breaks down on screen in a one-take emotional scene for Jamai No. 1

Popular drama Jamai No. 1 continues to engage viewers with its high-voltage storylines and emotionally charged moments. In the latest twist, the narrative takes a dramatic turn as Neel (played by Abhishek Malik) is wrongfully arrested in a shocking molestation case filed by Sayli (Sonal Vengurlekar). Amid the chaos, Simaran Kaur , who portrays Neel's devoted wife Riddhi, delivers a powerful, heart-wrenching performance as she fights to prove her husband's innocence and uncover the truth. What made this particular scene truly stand out was the emotional realism Simaran brought to it. To capture the helplessness, anger, and desperation of a woman standing up for her loved one, Simaran tapped deep into her emotional reservoir. The intense sequence was shot in a single take—a rare feat, especially for a scene that demanded such vulnerability and emotional depth. Known for her methodical approach to acting, Simaran took time to prepare in solitude, locking herself in her room before the shot to fully absorb her character's emotional turmoil. Simaran said, 'The moment I read the script, I knew it was going to be a challenging yet special scene. I didn't want to 'act' it—I wanted to feel every bit of what the character was going through. It wasn't easy. I locked myself in my room before the shot, read my script, stayed quiet, and allowed myself to truly absorb the gravity of the situation. I imagined what it would be like to see someone you love being accused of something so devastating—and to feel completely powerless. The emotional rush just took over, and I surrendered completely to the scene. I'm glad the team captured it in one take. As an actor, these are the moments that test your limits, but also leave you deeply fulfilled.' Simaran's raw and moving portrayal adds yet another layer of authenticity to Jamai No. 1, making it a must-watch for viewers. In the upcoming episodes, it will be interesting to see how Riddhi fights back to clear Neel's name. Will she succeed in uncovering the truth, or will Sayli and Kanchan (Papia Sengupta) manage to drive a wedge between the couple?
