Ex-Titans LB considering potential reunion with Mike Vrabel
One of the biggest surprises early in the free agency period was the Tennessee Titans' decision to say goodbye to linebacker Jack Gibbens.
Gibbens, a former undrafted rookie free agent, appeared to be ascending prior to suffering a devastating ankle injury that ended his season. So it was a bit of a surprise when he was not tendered as an exclusive rights free agent (ERFA) prior to the start of free agency and has now become an unrestricted free agent.
While he has not signed with another team, his future destination may be with a familiar face. Mike Reiss of ESPN reports that Gibbens may be on the radar for the New England Patriots and former head coach Mike Vrabel.
8. Tracking Gibbens: Free agent linebacker Jack Gibbens is considering making a visit to the Patriots this week, according to a league source, which would make sense considering his background with Vrabel.
Gibbens signed with Tennessee as an undrafted free agent in 2022 out of the University of Minnesota and played in 29 games (20 starts) over the last three seasons, totaling 167 tackles. The Titans didn't tender him a restricted free agent this offseason, making him free to sign with any team.
Gibbens would make some sense for the Patriots if he is healthy. He underwent surgery to repair his severely broken ankle in November and was said to be facing at least a four-month recovery period. There has been no word on his medical status or what type of impact that had on the Titans' decision.

Bayern Munich open talks with Manchester United for Antony, Bayer Leverkusen and Atletico Madrid also interested
Bayern Munich open talks with Manchester United for Antony, Bayer Leverkusen and Atletico Madrid also interested Manchester United plan to reinforce Ruben Amorim's squad after a disappointing last season by raising capital through the sales of stars who spent last season out on loan, like Antony. The Brazilian enjoyed a sensational six-month spell at Real Betis, netting nine times while also registering five assists in only 26 games and carrying the Spanish side to the UEFA Conference League final. Advertisement They were keen to try and hold on to the Brazil international but were offering another loan deal, something the Red Devils are in no mood to entertain. INEOS feel, given Antony's current form, this might be the best time to sell him given the interest he is generating all across Europe. Antony sale on the cards They have slapped a transfer fee of €50 million on the 25-year-old's head which Betis are unlikely to be able to afford anytime soon. Atletico Madrid and surprisingly, Arsenal are also keen on the United star. Now, as per ESPN Brazil (via TZ), Bayern Munich have also joined the race and will have to compete with domestic rivals Bayer Leverkusen for the ex-Ajax star. Advertisement Leverkusen, who have appointed Erik ten Hag as their new boss, are pushing for another reunion with the winger after choosing to bring him to Old Trafford from Amsterdam for a mammoth €95 million. Three-way battle following Bayern Munich's entry They plan to use the money raised from Florian Wirtz's sale to try and secure Antony's signing. The report also states that the Bavarian giants have begun talks with the Red Devils, enquiring about the terms of a potential transfer while Atletico are also in no mood to back down. The increased interest will suit INEOS, who will be looking to initiate a bidding war to try and secure the highest fee possible from his sale. American tennis star Coco Gauff reaches French Open final
Coco Gauff will get a second chance to win the French Open this weekend. Gauff, 21, defeated Loïs Boisson 6-1, 6-2 in the semifinals Thursday, propelling her to the second French Open final of her career so far. The American tennis star, ranked No. 2 at Roland Garros, will face the No. 1 seed Aryna Sabalenka in the women's final on Saturday in Paris. The match on Saturday will be only the second No. 1 vs. No. 2 women's final at the French Open in the past 30 years, according to ESPN. The faceoff between Gauff and Sabalenka will be a Grand Slam final rematch for the pair. The two faced off in the 2023 U.S. Open final, which Gauff won to earn her first Grand Slam title at age 19. Saturday's final will be the third Grand Slam final of Gauff's career. She was the runner-up to Iga Swiatek at Roland Garros in 2022. Sabalenka defeated Swiatek 7-6 (1), 4-6, 6-0 in the semifinals at this year's tournament. Last summer at Roland Garros, Gauff made history during the 2024 Olympics, becoming the youngest American woman to win a singles match at the Olympics since Venus Williams in 2000, according to ESPN. Gauff also made history when she carried the flag for Team USA in the Games' opening ceremony, becoming the first tennis player to carry the flag for the U.S.

Patriots rep admits it'll be hard keeping standout rookie UDFA off roster
Patriots rep admits it'll be hard keeping standout rookie UDFA off roster New England Patriots undrafted rookie Efton Chism III is making the sort of waves no one expected this early in the offseason work. Training camp hasn't even started, and it is already obvious that the former Eastern Washington standout is going to be hard to keep off the final roster. Boston Sports Journal's Greg Bedard believes it's time to start taking Chism seriously after watching him rack up receptions in competitive 11-on-11s during organized team activities (OTAs). There are currently 12 receivers on the Patriots' roster. Even if that number is cut in half after training camp, it's hard to see Chism failing to make the team. "I think I've used the phrase, 'It's going to be hard to keep [Chism] off the roster'. I actually heard that exact phrasing from somebody the other day after practice, somebody with the Patriots," Bedard said on the Greg Bedard Patriots Podcast. "Look, the guy gets open really well quickly, and he catches the ball. There was one stretch, I think it was four passes out of like six that he caught in the practice at the point where I looked over at [NBC Sports Boston's] Phil Perry, and I was like, 'Phil, are they going to throw to anybody else in this practice?'" Chism had seven receptions on seven targets at Monday's open OTAs practice. There are many similarities in his style of play to former Patriots greats, like Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola. He's scrappy in the slot with quick feet and a knack for peeling away from defenders, getting open and catching the ball. His ability to separate consistently stands out immediately in an offense that lacked true separators last season. It's only the month of June, and the Chism hype train is full steam ahead for mandatory minicamp and training camp. Follow Patriots Wire on Twitter and Facebook.
