Evacuation order lifted in parts of RM of Alexander
One Manitoba community has partially lifted its state of local emergency as the wildfire danger in the area begins to diminish. The RM of Alexander announced that the evacuation order has been lifted in parts of the community as of 10 a.m. on Sunday. This includes PR 315 north to the intersection of Hill Drive, including all streets and properties off PR315 as far east as Hill Drive on the north side of Bird River. It also encompasses Ledin Road, Cat Tail Drive, Tagasen Boulevard, High Road, Pioneer Drive, Beaver Drive, Ridge Road, Otter Drive, Crane Drive, Oiseau River Road, Hill Drive and all areas south of Bird River Bridge. The RM notes the evacuation order remains beyond Hill Drive. No one is permitted to travel there at this time. In order to return, residents need to register with the RM's connect system.
