Kremlin: We reached important agreements with Ukraine in Istanbul, they will be implemented

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced on Tuesday that Russia and Ukraine reached important agreements in Istanbul, and they will be implemented.
According to the Russian Sputnik News Agency, Peskov told reporters: "We are awaiting a response to the memorandum of understanding that was delivered."
He indicated that it would be a mistake to expect any immediate breakthroughs in the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul. He emphasized that it is unlikely that Russian President Vladimir Putin, US President Donald Trump, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will meet in the near future.

Peskov stated that there are no agreements between Presidents Putin and Trump to arrange a meeting. He further emphasized, "During yesterday's phone call, U.S. President Donald Trump said he had no information about the preparation of this terrorist act by the Kyiv regime. But if we speak broadly about the international assessment, we would naturally prefer to hear at least a strong condemnation of this terrorist act." Peskov confirmed that Russia's response to Ukraine's "terrorist strikes" on Russian airports would be determined by the military in whatever manner it deems appropriate. When asked whether the Kremlin would cut off communications with Ukraine if Kyiv repeated attacks on civilian targets, Peskov told reporters: "As you know, during yesterday's meeting, our Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov expressed the view that, despite everything, working-level communications should continue. The president supported this position." U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that he had held a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, noting that the conversation lasted one hour and 15 minutes. On his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote: "Just finished a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The call lasted one hour and fifteen minutes." He added, "They discussed the attack on Russian aircraft by Ukraine, as well as various other attacks from both sides." Moscow – Saba: Russian President Vladimir Putin stated on Wednesday that the current Kyiv regime has no interest in peace, as it would likely mean losing power. For them, maintaining control is more important than peace or the lives of people. During a video meeting with Russian government officials, Putin accused Kyiv's authorities of lacking "even the most basic political culture." He claimed that recent crimes against civilians, including women and children, were deliberately committed ahead of a new round of Russia-Ukraine negotiations to disrupt the peace process. "All the crimes against civilians before the proposed Istanbul peace talks were clearly aimed at sabotaging negotiations. These attacks on civilians were intentional," Putin said.
